    The Parisian neighborhood Le Marais is home to some of the best Paris art galleries. One of my favorites is Galerie Perrotin, where I’m bringing you along today to see three exhibits of works by Emily Mae Smith, Claire Tabouret, and Barry McGee.
    If you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet please do so to keep up with my upcoming videos. I have a lot of incredible content from Paris to share from art galleries, museums, and more.

    Thanks Mary.
    McGee makes strong work with emphasizing craftsmanship and technique. Her subject matter of feminism is somewhat subtle, but comes through. Her having historical works to play off from and reinvent is a big help: it reminds me of the 1980's post modernists.

    Paris, love the surreal broom. Vive La France! Love the Tabouret heavy impasto on faux fur canvas too, wonder how stable it will be. McGee reminds me more of Pop than grafitti, good stuff. Sound wall, my favorite.

    Not only is the art interesting, but it was extremely well narrated and some of the best gallery walk-through photography I've seen allowing the viewer to peak at the edges, see the entire room and then focus on individual pieces. Just excellent. This is the first time I've seen this channel, so I hope the rest of the videos are as good. Thank you.

Yes, just excellent and thank you for the reply. I look forward to many more walk throughs and your insightful thoughts and information. I've discovered some new artists I wouldn't have known about otherwise and also appreciation of works that I would walked by without really taking the time.

    Thanks once again, Mary! I liked above all Barry McGee’s exhibition.
    I had never heard of the Mission School art movement. It somehow reminds me of a similar unnamed movement that took place at the same time at an art school in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, likewise inspired by folk art, graffiti and comics. Interestingly, this small town is also located on the west coast, at almost the same latitude and features an identical mild and misty climate!

    • @unamor
      @unamor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sérgio, what are some artists from that movement in Portugal I could look into? Curious to learn about them! Thanks

    • @sergiovieira1053
      @sergiovieira1053 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@unamor It was an informal movement, without a manifesto. Unfortunately, few of the artists most linked to these vibes have had their work properly recognized by art critics. Many have dedicated to other tasks and do not exhibit regularly. Still, I can highlight: Francisco Vidal, Gonçalo Pena, Sara & André, Von Calhau!, Paulo Barros (onírica) and Colectivo Pizz Buin.

      I haven’t but I can! I just started for this video using a Gimbal which helps stabilize the video and I’ve actually found that shooting on the new iPhone 13 pro max in 4K provides much higher quality footage then when I was using my canon G7 mark II. The gimbal is this brand - DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer, 3-Axis Phone Gimbal, Built-In Extension Rod, Portable and Foldable, Android and iPhone Gimbal with ShotGuides, www.amazon.com/dp/B099ZXD27F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_81LZEsyDn46AS

    I like to watch your shows but e.g. Here The small pieces on paper need much longer focus directly in front and stop at least for one breath so that we get an impression of the work before you move around zooming in on details .... 🎵💜🎶

  • @fuzzyboomboom9742
    @fuzzyboomboom9742 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This was a good idea and thanks for your effort. I'd like to actually see the art though, and you moved by many of the paintings too quickly and with views of them at odd angles. Larger paintings could not be seen in their entirety because the camera was too close to them. The overall effect was disappointing. However, I hope you will take my comments as constructive criticism and put up more videos.
