Explaining the different ways of achieving somthing and short keys as you move a long helped so much. Very good tutorial
Thank you very much for a so interesting tutorial on the Basics of this so "complex" and so rich UVI Falcon application.
Very very usefull to begin with this incredible... synth...
Quanta, you make my... my new year 2023 !!... Thanks again for your time !
Glad you found the video helpful, Marcel. Thanks for watching and taking a moment to comment.
Still the best intro to Falcon, hands down. I use it as a reference.
Thanks, man. Glad you're still finding it useful!
This best ever tutorial for UVI beginners! Respect
Thanks a lot for providing another awesome video for free! ❤️
You're quite welcome, Marcotronic. Thanks for giving a watch and taking a moment to drop a message.
Thanks! Quanta! That really was a superb overview!
This is just what I've been looking for. Super helpful. Thank you!
God, this the most amazing tutorial ever. Even though I'm starting to get a wee bit of a hang of things, I am amazed how much it's like Kontakt. But like...way, way better interface and synthesis engines.
You're a master at explaining how to work under the hood of a very powerful and well-crafted tool. I would love to see a tutorial on how to set up multi-output configurations for drums; I use Logic and Studio One, as well as Abelton. I have not been able to master setting this up with the UVI interface as easily as it is in other VSTs. Thank you for your expert knowledge.
William, glad you're finding the tutorials helpful and I appreciate your support of the channel. I just uploaded a new video regarding your comment and I hope it's along the lines of what you were looking for... th-cam.com/video/1AYCfatYbf0/w-d-xo.html
Always amazing, Quanta. Hooray to you and Falcon!
Fully packed with useful information and WELL EXPLAINED at that.
Thumbs up from me!
Very nice tut, thank you. Btw, working with various VST instruments I really appreciate the UX of Falcon, it vibes with me. :)
Many people find the interface a bit daunting. Glad you dig it.
This video was too good, I'm going to have to check out some of your others. Thanks
I just got this, and I have felt a bit overwhelmed by just how big the whole thing is. There are a lot of interesting presets, plus I can load in sounds from Vintage Vault 3 and Synth Anthology 3. But I absolutely do want to know more about how the whole thing works. Thanks for this video!
Thanks! UVI Falcon tutorials much appreciated.
For sure, Larry. Thanks for watching and taking a moment to comment.
Thanks Quanta for another excellent video to help the noobs (like me, LOL) get further on the music journey
For sure, Brian. Thanks for giving it a watch and all the best to you in the new year!
Wow, that was a great tutorial! Cheers!
Thank you
Excellent tutorial. Will you be doing v3 update features?
thanks for the tutorial
You're welcome, Issie. Thanks for watching and taking a moment to leave a message.
Good video! Lots of in-depth info. Something I've been having trouble with is routing my MIDI controller into Falcon as a standalone program, and unless there are settings I'm not spotting my midi keyboard will only be sent to channel 1. This isn't particularly helpful when I'm trying to only hear the part (Part 1, Part 2, etc.) I have selected. Do you know of a way to easy way to have my controller only playing the part I select besides soloing it? This seems like a common feature in most DAWs
I'm not completely sure I understand your question. But, I think the issue is that MIDI keyboards typically send the MIDI data on channel 1, by default. So if all of your "Parts" within Falcon are set to channel 1 (it's shown as "A1, A2, A3, etc. in Falcon) then they will all be triggered. You can change the Parts to receive MIDI on a different channel, but you would also need to change your External MIDI controller to send on that channel.
Within the left panel of Falcon, where your Parts are listed, you can change which channel it is receiving on by clicking on the "A1, A2, etc. and changing it there. But again, you'd need to change the channel on your MIDI controller to something other than MIDI channel 1 in order to play the other parts in Falcon that you have set to different channels.
I'd check this out: forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=53241
@@quantaaudio That more or less answered my question. I didn't have an easy way to change the channel for MIDI send from my keyboard, and had hoped that similar to selecting a track in a DAW with midi recording that I could have my controller either automatically only send to the highlighted Part in Falcon or switch more easily. It doesn't seem like there are options for what I want perhaps because it wasn't meant to be used the way I am using it, so I'll look into using it as a VST plugin in a DAW sometime. Thanks for the reply, and otherwise the video was very informative!
Yo Quanta what do honestly still think about Falcon?
Are you still"in love"with it???
Do you still use it today?
Sorry, just a curiosity question, what's the meaning of when opening some presets have five hundred or three thousand key groups ?
Does this show how to record? Thanks
Stuck again. I was trying to modulate the cutoff of a filter and as I've "right clicked" on the cutoff to call an envelope I noticed that nothing happens to the filter but if I choose an lfo I get the respective modulation. A detail is that I have the option of placing the modulation in either a layer or a program but the envelope doesn't work in any of those options. Thanks for any help.
If you right-click the parameter and go to "Add modulation/Internal/...and then choose an envelope from the options it should work. I just tried it. Not sure what the issue could be. But hopefully you've already resolved the issue by now!
@@quantaaudio Don't know how, I was doing it by the book and it wasn't happening but all of a sudden with the exact same procedure it started responding normally. Some times I find what I'd be doing wrong but not this one. Thanks anyway.
Yes, Falcon is powerful but the UI is just horrible to work with.
It doesn't save zoom levels on the sample editor and every time you drag a window to make it bigger, it just resets when you click on a new tab.
It's just a bad UI design and even with version 3, UVI didn't fix it
