MIDI out is massive, and I'm glad to see an entire video dedicated to the sequencers. Hopefully there will be more videos with Cameron to cover everything in Falcon.
I wish someone would actually show how it's setup. UVI documentation is scant on that. I know you have to insert it after a sequencer but what about afterwards like in one's daw? It's not clear where Cameron is running Falcon 3. Tried several things in ProTools and no MIDI out from F3 to an external synth or a synth on a track insert.
These videos with Cameron are total gold. He’s such a great communicator and helps make the intimidating user interface less impenetrable for beginners. Falcon is capable of limitless creativity and the insane degree of modulation complexity is awe inspiring. Without Cameron’s help, a lot of this would remain unknown to me, so I’m very grateful for these great tips. Keep up the great work, Cameron. UVI very lucky to have you on their team.
Believe the hype. Falcon is a fantastic tool for sound design and much more. I have a few other competing, well regarded devices in my arsenal. But Falcon juices my creative workflow like no other. Kudos to UVI's team.
I'm a recent subscriber to the UVI Sonic Pass. It's overwhelming, but videos like this just make me more excited to see what I've yet to explore. I'm still mired in the wonders of the Quadra synth (astounding, imo). I've barely scratched the surface. I'd love to see more on using these incredible sequencers with other synths and Vsti's.
Wow i just spent hours looking for a note step sequencer like my korg and roland has.. im glad this popped up in my TH-cam!! The midi out is exactly what i needed.
This is amazing, Cameron, thanks for showing us what's possible here. When I saw yesterday morning that Falcon 3 was out, I was looking for an upgrade price from Falcon 2, which I already have, not realizing it was actually free. In fact, I almost bought Falcon 3 by mistake LoL. The fact that I would have happily paid for this update is testament to just how freakin' good it is. Well done UVI, and thank you for the incredible gift 🙂
Fantastic overview. This really helped me to better understand the effects and flow, which can be quite daunting at first, but now seem much more approachable. As always, great content, Cameron.
Couldn't resist, even before I saw this video, and with all the other synths I own, I had to buy this too! Thank you for the intro price and voucher, it was a no brainer and I am soooo glad I did it! Amazing stuff.
Amazing potential - great video. Whenever I open Falcon I find myself wishing for an old school, 500 page hardbound manual. It’s a beast. Great video as always Cameron!
The sequencers alone have been the number one reason why I lost my mind over Falcon. Man, I can't wait to see what chaos I can do with the midi out stuff
Just like to point out in case anyone else is scratching their head, midi out requires the VST3 rather than the AUv2 plugin. Apparently AU doesn’t accommodate midi out. Not sure if there’s a work around using the AIC driver but VST3 works fine. I'm usin Ableton. Not had issues mixing plugin formats ( so far ). Cheers !
I really wish there was a way to purchase the sequencers separately. I've been scouring the web for little utility midi only sequencers (but with decent UI!) for Step and Euclidean (and others) but they are few and far between. Some day I may have use for all the (genuinely) wonderful synthesis features of Falcon (esp the resonators), but that day is not now. $200 is too much for just the midi sequencers (ie - what I'd use). Others will (and should!) feel differently - it looks like a fantastic synth suite.
I'm pretty much in the same situation. I don't want to get all of Falcon just for the sequencers - it's too much complexity. Well, some of these can be wired together in Bitwig's grid (sans the pretty interfaces), Euclidean and Cartesian sequencers have certainly been done. Then there's a cheap and very functional Euclidean sequencer called RhyGenerator, and Stepic VST probably cover all of the Step Arp functionality, and likely exceeds it. But for the other ones, like Motion Grid, I don't think anyone is making such plujgins. Someone totally should, I'd snap them all up.
@@SongOfItself thank you for the tip on Stepic - I'm going to have a look. I have RhyGenerator, but its interface is very inefficient. Pigments has a great sequencer built in (I sure wish Phase Plant had one...), and it's got midi out. Very useful. I've tried stringing sequencers together with Reaktor but it's painful. I'm close to attempting to make a reaper plugin to handle a lot of what I'd want but it's limited, and I don't have the wherewithal to make a UI. For the CC generation side of things, Melda has a great cc generator. Also good are Panflow, Gatelab and Filterstep by Audiomodern. But it's all just bits and pieces. I'd pay good money for the Falcon sequencers (unbundled). Oh... BlueArp is also a lot of fun. Onward and upward...🙂
thanks great update! can anyone show me how to use the new midi out feature with Logic Pro x please!! such a great new feature that I can't figure out how to use yet!
Simple question: How can I SYNC playback of the EUCLIDEAN DRUM sequencer to my DAW? (Reaper) ... Seems I can only start and stop playback by manually pressing the play button on the sequencer itself(!) ... It ignores the AutoPlay button in Falcon's main interface, and also ignores whether or not the daw is currently playing or not
Please note that the Audio Unit (AU) plugin format does not support MIDI Output for software instruments . I use Logic 10.7.4 Big Sur and the midi Outs don't in function. I want the midi out but HOW???
hang on a minute. so it doesn't actually sync to the DAW? using it in pro tools with super low latency and the timing totally out. the tempo is coming up as the correct tempo in falcon but it not sounding right at all. with both internal synth and external. is there something I'm missing?
No matter how powerful PC I buy it start to hack,... Falcon far too heavy together with Omnisphere impossible to add any other track. Nothing inspirational they just killing me.
Okok cool 1 bit toy, but, the PROBLEM is, SOUNDS LIKE BASIC RANDOM FUNCTION. Mistake... :) :) USELESS. Go and work in McDonalds... Stop this Sound stuff
MIDI OUT is one of the major new features in version 3, can not thank UVI enough.

Practically a game changer imo

@@musicman8942 not hard to set up. Its multi or solo or stereo into a daw. Read the manual its in it
You're talking about audio output and I'm talking about the MIDI output. 2 completely different things.
@@musicman8942 the audio channel and midi in and out are routed on the same screen.

The floaty background behind falcon is a very nice touch :D

That was a really excellent a showcase and tutorial. I was on the fence, but you've convinced me Cameron. Thanks @VenusTheory

Midi out!!! Wonderful! And the new sequencers look fun.

I really enjoyed using these features!! Thanks for the video.
ooooh nice. UVI makes very interesting sequencing ideas. Me like it
Ok i cancelled my roland cloud after this video uvi is just Heaven for sound design and falcon is almost a daw .

a bit more explanation on how to use that midi out feature would be helpful. (how to select the port, etc)

so you use all this for recreate a randomizer. there is also many possibilities to create 'elaborated patterns'
And if you run it through Stepic ...WOW crazy Arpquencies...

Crazy shit!
The big question is, can you finally sync play Falcon as slave when using in the DAW?
Otherwise what is the point to create sequences in Falcon
How do you get midi out if your interface doesn’t have midi? Would definitely get Falcon if I could get it working on my Moog etc
Simply get a MIDI interface. There is no lack of those, ever for cheap.
@@DarkSideofSynth I’ve got 2 interfaces already lol
do they work? ;) @@AModulationJourney

With MIDI Out added, is there a MIDI FX version that you can load in MIDI FX slot in Logic or is it just MIDI Out Capable?
all that has changed with logic 11 i guess .

Has there been any changes to the Licencing deals for smaller developers? Last i checked it was almost as problematic as NI

I used Falcon on an i7-6700K for a few years and now just got the i7-12700K. My songs can easily have 6-10 instances of Falcon running.
