Me too! I’d love there to be more of a mixture of the classic style of episodes with the live stuff (I personally don’t get on with the live stuff but lots of other folks seem to so a balance of both would be great!)
The Volture in either a treadle form, or with an expression out, would be super useful. To be able to sweep through from starving the voltage all the way to full voltage while still being able to play at the same time would be super cool.
I'm the same. I'm very taken with the basics range reverb, trem and chorus. One day I'll decide. If only the reverbs came in stereo. Maybe I'll buy two and mod them into one box.
I'm so hoping in this series he'll do a mk1 ToneBender, the mk3 tribute is my new favourite fuzz pedal! I can't imagine how amazing his take on a mk1 would sound
You should consider releasing a special edition Mary-K in a blister pack. I can't be the only person out there who would totally impulse buy a fuzz pedal if it were hanging on a rack by the checkout line at Walgreens.
Very cool. I’m still holding out for a Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround circuit as part of this series. Something tells me that is one of the ten ‘ideas’ hinted at early in this video. 🐝
I'm really glad you've made these available to people. My inner Engineer remains perplexed by the fact that a Fuzz must be first in the chain, but the mod switches are on the left and therefore you have to lose pedal board space to accommodate the inconvenience. I'd be overjoyed if you'd break that habit. Please do not allow this feedback to dent a wonderful day.
I love that now the curtain’s been drawn back, he’s admitted the loud is more good amp onscreen is a prop It’s fun to look at the knobs, see how they’re set
The boss tone circuit is slept on. Given how successful the opamp big muff is as the ‘pumpkins’ muff, you’d think more people would be interested in the pumpkin’s other lead fuzz.
❤ ❤❤ When I was a kid there were people knocking on your door and they had a stack of books to sell you, and they explained they were encyclopedias. It was the only way then to learn things about world history, science, biology etc. How awesome is it that JHS is building an encyclopedia of pedals, allowing us to experience otherwise unobtainable items to most! ❤❤❤ Bravo JHS
I really love what the Berkeley has going on! And get this episode back on fridays where it belongs. You’re shaking me like a 3rd in line semi trailer. And Josh would you say, “pale whales are where the wells are not dry, but pale ales are where the Pell grants are not lost in the mail.”
Really digging this series. Would love to see a Selmer Buzz Tone clone, made famous by Syd Barrett on The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, at some point down the road.
It would be cool to play a Fender Blender. Or the Zoom fuzz where the knobs respond properly. I would try a Berkeley. I dig the idea of OD that can Fuzz. Also love the traditional JHS episode. Some of the most pleasing vibe in all of guitar YT.
Another stolen circuit.. can’t come up with original designs, just repros and then show off his collection that he’s amassed bc he pays his people low wages Buy Earthquaker, they pay living wages and offer healthcare to their employees.
Finally, I'm just in time for the Legends of FUZZ Party. Count me in for the Berkeley. It screams, distorts and fuzz. Love it. It will be part of my small collection, joining the Supreme and the Crimson. Thanks for everything you and your crew do at JHS.🙌🏅🙌
Awesome episode! Can’t wait to play the new Legends of Fuzz line! Love the original LOF. I have a JHS pedal with the *This pedal is special* sticker - a Twin Twelve V2. You guys rock!
Awesome you kept this series going! I hope you continue to release this series into the future, fantastic that you’re keeping these circuits alive! Now reissue some of the crazy EHX stuff plz!!!! Would love to see a JHS version of the Attack/Decay!
Thank you Josh from the bottom of my heart thank you With this and your 3 series I feel like we normal people can get good durable sounds and still be able to live a healthy financial situation
You did good with these, they sound really really good. I also love that the mods you added are not pointless but very useful, yet don't ruin the original vibe. Good work man....
I love the legends of fuzz, thanks so much for the pedals and this channel. I have never bought a JHS pedal that I didn’t absolutely love. I also love double negatives.
The "Plugin" sounds amazing! I can't wait to get one!! I do wish that when the "JHS Mode" was switched on, on all the Legends of Fuzz pedals, it changed the color of the LED, not sure how difficult that would be to implement, but just a thought. Love these pedals though!
I used to have a Kay Fuzz back in the day. What blew my mind was the Berkeley slide tone. That was unquestionably righteously rad! Keep on keepin' on rockin'! \m/
I've always loved that super memorable Spirit in the Sky guitar tone (I was a kid at the time that it came out).... omg, bravo! for The Plugin! _That's_ the one I'm putting on my buy-list (in _front_ of the Color Box). Thank you so, so, much. You're all genius-level talents and my life is better because of you all. seriously.
Been lovin on Jordan amps for over ten years. Felt like you were talking right at me when you mentioned them. Thanks for the Jordan amp exposure. I have the bass master j119 and stage mate j130 (which has reverb and tremolo) I wrote all the songs for my band on guitar with the bass master. I always preferred you use bass in the guitar amp and guitar through the bass amp. So sick.
I got the Mary-K for Christmas (thank you, Santa), and while I have yet to try the other Legends of Fuzz pedals, I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be my favorite, too.
The Mary-K sounds brutiful. A fuzz for the ages. And Josh. I love how you didn't mute the strings on the slide solo with the Berkeley. I have always been told to mute, and I think that erases the beautiful noises you get from sympathetic dissonance. Really.
I really like the Berkeley. Will check it out tomorrow at the local JHS retailer. Here is (another) vote for making the little black box in an expression/treadle enclosure.
I’ve always been a pedal nerd. Josh made me a JHS fan specifically, maybe more than any other singular pedal brand. the brand, the philosophy, the personalities and everything else that goes into running a pedal company and made THAT a product in its own way. And somewhere along the way, they became the IDEAL catylyst through which all pedal history, technology, research and experimentation gets reflected, mixed perfectly with an eye on the future and anticipating what the average weekend warrior finds most valuable about every type of pedal can be distilled down to its most essential elements and finds a way in almost every video, to offer a new perspective on a sound people have written millions of words on already, and every video, he delivers on the appeal of the Everyman rocker, a mythical type of personality that simply has a profound talent for expressing what is so awesome about each type of pedal you might need to round out your sound. You simply can’t clone that kind enthusiasm. It’s infectious, which I’m sure is part of Josh’s secret sauce to how JHS started from his brain entirely and now commands a fanboy level of attention and dishes that energy right back out to his fellow enthusiasts , displaying a cult-leader-esque charisma which garners so much genuine goodwill and fanaticism around their little operation. They often say there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism, but if it’s possible, Josh may have figured out a way to go around that old dogmatic view as well. I’d love to smoke a bone with that guy
I’m so stoked you went for the Kay-Fuzz. It’s the first pedal I cloned and made only one for my friend in a U2 Cover band. It’s 100% component accurate clone. It made me never want to make my own circuit board again..😂😂. So I bought the Monster K-Fuzz (built into a wah enclosure) for myself. I love this circuit. Nice work on the new line!! Cheers,
I started playing electric guitar in 1974. My Mom bought me a '60s Teisco E-112 guitar and a Checkmate amp at a yard sale. Shortly after that she bought me the Kay Fuzz and Wah at a Ben Franklin five and dime retail store. And yes, they were in the toy section!! I need to buy these JHS Fuzz pedals!!
Great Record Time suggestion. I had never heard of Kills Birds. Now I'm checking them out and they remind me of something I would have found on an old DGC or SubPop mix cd back in the day. Nice one. Thank you!
Oh no! I'm definitely going to have to get the Berkley and the Mary K. I'm not even usually a fuzz player. I had a Kay fuzz that I got stupid cheap years ago and it pretty much informed me of what fuzz should be like, which was unfortunate, but now it's here! With the support for the treadle like I loved before I broke mine!
I love these "new" fuzzes! The plug-in was probably my fav. As far as which fuzz to do next... the maestro bass brassmaster. Gotta give Addison some bass fuzz love! It also works great on smaller guitars. 😀
Your show is like a natural Xanax. I love the few pedals from you. All my bitton pins are on my jacket. I guess i have to geek out and start buying merch. Omg… i love buying things, it makes me so happy. The studio band you play with…. Get them some starbucks, they are tight. Love ya guys.
I love that Josh used a semi hollow the whole episode but I can’t even look at a fuzz pedal without my semi hollow screeching at me. 😂 love the new pedals guys! 110% as always. Now more money to spend. Lol.
maybe the Collings materials/construction/electronics got something to do with it...he also records direct using a kemper (the "loud is more good" amp isn't being used, it's a prop in this case)
After a few months, I am SO GLAD I switched to a Boss ME-80 multi effects unit. Honestly just having the burden of not having the latest and greatest pedals lifted is so relaxing! Fretting over which pedal "provides" the tone or effect I'm looking for is just exhausting. Not to mention expensive. All the pedals I've ever tried weren't nearly as "orgasmic" as advertised anyways and the ME-80 does EVERYTHING and more. Just food for thought to fellow guitarists.
I've missed good ol' episodes. It's fun to see Josh dive into history and pull out boxes. Live shows are good, but sometimes a normal, edited episode is more good.
When I was a kid back in the 80s I found an orange Kay Fuzz in a church basement sale. I bought it along with a plastic amp for $2 total. Ended up giving it to my bassist when I bought my first real distortion pedal.. a Tube Driver. Wish I would’ve hung onto that pedal.
Love this series! It's my favorite! Along with my other pedals... I have an early Bender, no homey sticker, but it appears that "Gary Hurst was here...Kina..."
I don't know if I'm the only person, however would be really interested in the Rotovibe history and evolution. It took me 20 years to get one , and what I can find the history is all over the place, this video was great, love all the pedal history very interesting stuff, Cheers!
I had a jhs 'bender', I have original tonebender and a modern one made by DAM, and had high hopes for the jhs, and although it looks great and feels well made it falls way short in the sound, it has nowhere near the level of attack, and the tone control is way to dull, it should go from really high to low, it's way to in the mid range......it also might be the lack of germanium.....l think they should re listen to it.....
Love just a classic JHS episode
@Esteban Soto yup. The live videos are a bit too much for me personally.
Me too! I’d love there to be more of a mixture of the classic style of episodes with the live stuff (I personally don’t get on with the live stuff but lots of other folks seem to so a balance of both would be great!)
This just feels like a good ol' jhs video. It's wonderful.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing!

(like a regular [treadle] wah vs. auto-wah)
Oh! And a remote on/off (like an amp where you can remotely switch channels) would be cool, too!

True fact - I do not own any JHS pedals but I love this channel.
If you buy one get a Muffuletta. One of the best sounding fuzz pedal available

yes!!
The classic episode format is really refreshing to see again
I just love seeing mid Missouri specific T-Shirts on Josh and personally identifying with it. Rock on guys
Josh's love for Pedals is simply inspiring. I love everybody at JHS, but Josh has this boundless enthusiasm that really gets me.
Bro, Josh is like a tone philanthropist preserving these circuits in readily available JHS pedals.
Josh and the JHS team are incredible , love the new pedals

I would love to see a Boss FZ-2 hyper fuzz clone with a mid boost and a little extra low end for us bass players.
The JHS Supreme is based on the Super Fuzz which is also what Boss tried to clone. I believe the switch on the side is a mid boost.
Yeah I've found that I often put my Colour Box after the Hyper Fuzz to, like you said, add low mid and bass to it.
