“Like husband and wife” great analogy.
I can use either one stand alone or combine them. These instruments complement each other so well.

The problem is that when you already own an MPC Live 2, there's not all that much need to invest in an SP 404 Mk2. It basically becomes an expensive effects machine and even the latest MPC effects plugin AIR Flavor Pro puts the Live 2 basically on par with the SP 404 Mk Mk2.
Although I largely agree with your points, my experience with the MPC Live 2 outside is actually excellent and really inspiring when you use it with a protective Magma hardcase that also doubles as a direct sunlight blocker.

Great video! The TSA lady had me chuckling lol. Makes a lot of sense. My MPC Live 2 bag is MASSIVE. Looks like I have a jetpack on 😅🚀

This is a great video. I agree with your points. I do feel like my MPC Live 2 will break when I travel.

I agree with you. I don't have a Live 2, but I do have an MPC One. I could have bought a Live 2, but looking at everything, I decided to pick up the SP 404 mk2 instead. I already have a MPC One with a Tascam Model 12, which effectively gives it most of the features you'd get from the MPC X. I didn't see the point spending 1.2k on a Live 2, when the 404 mk2 was much cheaper and did exactly what I wanted to do when on the go. I love the effects on it, and the sequencer is decent. I love that the mk2 lets you see waveforms when adjusting samples and chopping. The screen does just enough to make it useable. Also like you said, the mk2 just looks like something that isn't all that so it's not liable to attract a lot of attention. You pull a Live 2 out with that big colorful screen and people are going to be craning their necks to see what you got. Anyway great video bro.

I am interested in both of these and trying to decide which to buy. I only have money for one of them. I would like to use in a live set up to playback recorded tracks, use as drum pad to create loops and create full tracks sequencing on stage. I also want to be able to use to create chunks I can put into a daw to create songs I can record and release, plus create my own drum samples. Am I asking too much or will one of these be what I want??? Would love to hear from you, or anyone on this please. Peace.

Based on what you want to do, I'd go with an MPC.

@@ABSTRACT_MUSIC that's helpful to know. Thank you. Do you think the MPC is good for stage performance or is there a lot of menu diving??
