You won’t really hear it diverter valves recirculate the boost where as a blow off vents to atmosphere making the noise that’s why the copper s doesn’t have the bov noise

Hey Pat, I would just do your diverter. Its a known issue with minis that the rubber diagphram tends to split in the OEM one. I think you might be talking about the diverter on the turbo for the blow off valve, or are you talking about the waste gate? I don't think there is a blow off valve on our minis as the boost that is 'blown off' when you come off throttle is diverted back into the induction ststem by the diverter valve. Therefore if somthing is sticking open causing boost pressure issues, it is more than likely the diverter valve....
Hi, silicone hoses don't just look better they last longer & are more resistant to contamination. You can get sets in loads of colour options as well, I just chose blue & red because I had looked over minis that had that colour & red is for racing lol.
What is the wide body kit you have on it if i may ask and does it come in gloss black or can they be painted or wrapped ? btw love the channel. did you have to cut the wheel wells to fit them on?
Hey Brian, the fender flares are from mini flares in birmingham here's the link to there website... www.miniflares.com/ I think they only supply them unpainted but you can get them painted & would assume wrapped but never been asked that one before. My arch drop flanges have been cut to allow the wheels to step out flush without rubbing. The guys at mini flares can advise on wheel offsets or spacer sizes based on the kit you buy or get fitted to the car. Glad you like the channel 👍 Smithie.
Hi James, holds onto boost better in-between gear changes & improves the boist pressure when building boost. Yes, you will need to get the one for the N18 engine for yours.

Not like a BOV psssst & flutter, more like a recirc hiss as the diverter valve pushes air back into the intake. Sounds louder than normal cus of the noise maker delete. I'd rather keep the boost that blow it out to atmosphere just to rebuild it again. 👍

Hi Jason, I installed the Diverter valve as a supporting modification to a Stage 2 remap I recently had done. There was no engine management light or code present. I just wanted to improve boost performance to support my planned remap 👍 Smithie.
@@eamonncanfer8773apologies but I have only just saw your question, no, no boost loss or CEL's. The only negative thing I have noticed is a hesitation when driving the car just for the sound track. You know when you accelerate the boost starts to come on & you hear the exhaust note change, then let off to hear the pfffttt from the waste gateand you have to build boost again. Otherwise no problems with the valve whatsoever.... 👍
Hi Moskino, Yes i can tell the difference, the car is more urgent on acceleration after gearshifts now. It will show up more though when i get it stage 2 mapped early next year & it gets tuned in. I got the valve from lohan, im sure you could get it cheaper if you have a search around the web. GFB are based in Australia, so dont go direct, shipping costs would be high lol.
