Those were the years would never come back again. My dad bought me ps2 on my birthday and I wasn’t aware of anything. He came home and hid the ps2 box outside of the main door. He said “what you doing, have you heard of ps2?” I said yes and he went to get the ps2 and brought it to me. The moment I saw it I was like hit by train and started crying. My first game was Tekken Tag.. And after that the game which is still my favourite, metal gear solid series. Ahh millennium years I’d never forget, especially 2000-2004.. (I was born in 1993 btw)

Thats wassup ....My story was a lil different and i was born 1995....but anyway ..i didnt get the ps2 till 2003 tho because i was still satisfied with ps1 and plus the lack of games on ps2 but in 2001 & 2002 i would play ps2 at my friends houses who had it and started noticing ps2 games were bulding up like crazy so i finally told my mom i wanted a ps2 in 2002 so in 2003 i spent a night at my friends house for the whole weekend so on Sunday my mom picks me from there and she acted normal and didnt say a word about any suprises so im just thinking im finna just go home to the same old shit and we get home , i walk into in my room and boom there was a ps2 on my bed with 2 games ...need for speed and the 1st spiderman movie game and my mom knew i was obsessed with spiderman so she knew that had to be one of my 1st games... so i was one of the most excited kids ever and kept giving my mom a hug and saying thank you for 5 straight minutes ....because i been dieing to get a ps2 and been dieing to play that spiderman game specifically .....none of my friends had that game....and it urked me because they had a shit load of ps2 games but didn't have that spiderman game...so i knew in the future the only way for me to ever play that game it was to have my mom get it for me herself .....and she did so in a surprising way.......damn i miss the early 2000s that was the best time to be a kid....we had the best cartoons and tv shows at the time as well.....

Too bad I never got any personal console when I was a kid, back in early 2000's my brother in law has PS1 which blew my mind away with the graphics and still playing Sega Genesis at home, if I saw a PS2 graphics in 2000 I would shit my pants. Ah yes those were the days 😌 late 90s and 00s for me. I remember wanting a gaming console like my older cousins they all had play stations, i was about 9 years old. So in 02 on Christmas my dad got me the OG xbox. I was so happy and overjoyed in that moment I didn't even care what system it was.
I'm 17, and first got my hands on my OG PS2 in 2010. I'm so glad I did and I wish I was able to live in the 90s onwards since it was a super cool time... but I still have my PS2 (not the exact one but still an OG model) and I play a lot on it. Favorite games? Devil May Cry 3 and probably Tekken. I miss 2010s, they were the best years of my life

It's really fun to experience stuff I never got to properly experience in it's time but at least it makes me unique now where no one else does it. :)
Damn ! I miss those days. I remember my mom and dad bought it for us me and my older brother. In 2001 in the Christmas special. But that's not my first PlayStation. My mom got a PlayStation one in 1996 to 2001 . We sold PlayStation one in December 24 th one day before Christmas. Because I knew that. My mom bought the console and my dad bought the games. The next day it was Christmas day and I was the first one who unwrapped the present I was crazy exited it was a ps2 . And the games were gta3 and jak and daxter the precursor legacy need for speed . And I was the first one to play it for the rest of the day. The game I was playing was jak and daxter the precursor legacy. So many memories 🥰😍🤗🤗

I was born 93, but I always experienced the console gifting second hand lol. My older brother got the ps2 (but it basically became mine and I got many a game for it). My favourites were the MGS series, GTA and Jak and Daxter, some honourable mentions are Dynasty warriors, need for speed. Same for n64, i wished so long for one then my brother got one lol. Unfortunately my brother sold the ps2 one time and all my games, without realising (so he says). My first console that was officially mine was the ps3, and my brother bought me a game to make up selling my ps2 ones. Good times.

10 years apart! I was born in ‘93. Everyone wishes they were born earlier sometimes. My brothers were ‘80s kids (born in ‘80 & ‘83) and I sometimes envy what they got to grow up on. I’m just glad I got to experience some of the ‘90s at least. The nice thing is that you don’t have to miss out. You can buy a PS2 today and relive that passed age of the new millennium. 😊 Plus there’s tons of PS2 games that have been ported to PS5/PS4. If you’re curious to try them, Jak & Daxter, Final Fantasy X, Medal of Honor, & GTA: San Andreas were some of my favorites from the PS2 days.

I was born in 1997 and we didn't brought PS2 in 2009 because we couldn't get it one for our and we had to buy it a years later once the game console price drop in 2009 or 2010. Man, i wish i could have earn one when it was still new in 2002.
I envy the lucky lads and lasses that were able to experience this console when it was new. I got mine from a car-boot sale in 2012. £3.50 and another £1 for a controller I found later. Best £4.50 I ever spent in my life. My Uncle, (who got his own PS2 for Christmas in 2000.) hadn't thrown away his cables and gizmos and such even though his console was long gone by the time I got mine. Every Saturday I'd go to my nan's and play for hours. and every second Sunday we'd go car-booting. I was able to pick up some really solid games for a quid or so each time. Bionicle, NFS Underground 1&2, Half-Life, Gran Turismo 3, Medal of Honour, Spider Man 2, Simpsons Hit & Run and so on. I still go to Cex (a second-hand shop chain based in Lancashire) and peruse through their PS2 section. The only games my uncle kept were Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Gran Turismo 3&4, GTA: SA and Manhunt. The latter he hid from me since it was banned in the UK and he didn't want me playing it.

Desde ese momento sentí demasiada tristeza hasta que muchísimos años después pude comprarme una PS2 FAT, prometí que me compraría todas las consolas que siempre quise de niño y la PlayStation 2 fue una de esas metas, al día de hoy se convirtió en mi consola favorita. While PS2 was not my first console by any means it is one I will remember because it was the first one I bought with my own hard earned money from working while going to high school.
I'm in the UK and I can remember when I got my first PS2, I got it in April 2003 for my 5th birthday (although I can't remember what the first game I had for it was). My sister also got a pink PS2 slim bundle for Xmas in either 2006 or 2007 (I know it was then as in got the video game Buzz! - did you guys I the US/Canada ever get that game or was it a UK/PAL exclusive PS2 game?) with Singstar (as with Buzz! - did you in North America ever get that as well or again was that just a UK/PAL exclusive PS2 game?)

I was very lucky, yes. That TV was massive for the time. I have no idea to this day how much it costs but they kept it until about 2010. However you’d be surprised. I actually wasn’t aloud to use the PS2 on that tv. We had a 18” tube tv that we were aloud to use for video games. And our PS2 was shared between 7 siblings. My grandma actually helped pay for it. My dad worked for the post office fixing the sorting machines, so while he was by no means rich we definitely were a good middle class family by then. I’m always grateful for it because when my parents were younger they had a lot of hard financial times where they had to go on food stamps and what not. Because of this my parents always had a mindset that we had to work hard for things. This is why a lot of my friends are surprised to find that I bought my first car, and every car after, paid for my own braces, and have never had insurance, gas or rent paid for by my parents 😅 In fact when I got married I actually had to give my parents money to be able to come to my wedding. (It’s a long story and this is already a long story) oh and just to top it off, I never had my own gaming console until I bought a PS3 in 2010 with my own money 😂 Anyways, good observation. There’s some context for you.
There was no date on it as it seemed to have been shut off when this video was taken. This was recorded on a mini VHS, which I then converted to digital.

When console were actually exciting to get… new gen sucks. No games worth playing, and it looks pretty much the same as last gen except it runs faster and maby some more shader details. U gotta think back then when we jumped from ps1 to ps2 it was a huge deal. Excited to play so many games coming out… today the games suck and are all about micro transactions. Wish I could go back to this time
You got your own PS2? We shared ours between 7 siblings. Never owned my own console until I could buy one with my own money. My parents were pretty well off though. Yet they were good at teaching us to work for things. If I wanted a new game I had to get the money myself.

However you’d be surprised. I actually wasn’t aloud to use the PS2 on that tv. We had a 18” tube tv that we were aloud to use for video games. And our PS2 was shared between 7 siblings. My grandma actually helped pay for it. My dad worked for the post office fixing the sorting machines, so while he was by no means rich we definitely were a good middle class family by then. I’m always grateful for it because when my parents were younger they had a lot of hard financial times where they had to go on food stamps and what not. Because of this my parents always had a mindset that we had to work hard for things.
This is why a lot of my friends are surprised to find that I bought my first car, and every car after, paid for my own braces, and have never had insurance, gas or rent paid for by my parents 😅 In fact when I got married I actually had to give my parents money to be able to come to my wedding. (It’s a long story and this is already a long story) oh and just to top it off, I never had my own gaming console until I bought a PS3 in 2010 with my own money 😂

Did This Video Recording Have A Date On It And Was It On A VHS? Also, Did It Say 2000 Or 2001 On The Camcorder?
There was no date on it as it seemed to have been shut off when this video was taken. This was recorded on a mini VHS, which I then converted to digital.

When console were actually exciting to get… new gen sucks. No games worth playing, and it looks pretty much the same as last gen except it runs faster and maby some more shader details. U gotta think back then when we jumped from ps1 to ps2 it was a huge deal. Excited to play so many games coming out… today the games suck and are all about micro transactions. Wish I could go back to this time
