Yeah about that.. so I'm not a bts fan but my nickname is Jin so I changed my name to what it is now and I still think that it's a really funny coincidence.
I think these are the main reasons why they're so succesful. 1. Their PERSONALITY. Personality is one of thing that stands out a LOT. I have read a comment somewhere, she said(wrote) about their humbleness. She some kind of get forced by her friend to go to BTS's first fanmeeting. She could tell that they're humble already. In 2016, she became an ARMY and go to the fanmeeting, she said to them she hope they will become successful one day. In 2019, she goes to fanmeet again, and surprisingly, they remember her, her NAME, what SHE SAID. She said like almost EVERY FRICKIN IDOL changed when fame hit them. But with BTS, she said like they're the same one that she met back in 2013. 2. I've known and listened to Kpop since 2010, and let me tell you, songs that are not about relationships and love are quite few. Sure, there are songs about loving yourself and not to care what other people said, but BTS's songs have DETAILS. Like, in Zero O' Clock, the song message is focused on 'every new day is another chance to improve and fix your mistakes.' Meanwhile in The Truth Untold, they focused on 'how and why you should love yourself first' through a love story. These messages saved hundreds of ARMY from suicide. 3. How they act like they're broke and not millionaires. These bois would fight over FOODS AND COUPONS while they could buy a whole apartment, which to me, is very hilarious and relatable. 4. How they stan ARMY back. They created songs dedicated to ARMY such as 2!3! And Moon. They always mention about ARMY as their source of success. (Bonus: ARMY also created a song for them, titled 'Borahae'( I purple you) 5. The company. I've known pretty much depression stories suffered by idols and trainees and rumors about what makes company (example) bad. Bighit is pretty open and have less strict rules. Also I think Bang-PD is a great guy, since the boys love goofing around and make jokes about him. So there are less arguments and rumors about the Bighit.
@Itachi Uchiha Yeah, they bicker over coupons, money, and free prizes. It's actually funny, it doesn't harm their friendship in any way. They're so humble even though they're the biggest boyband in the world right now
I mean yeah even if the company don’t come out with captions when the video comes out out, you still don’t have to try very hard to get translated eng sub (or of any languages) cause some kind army translated the whole thing in like.. 30 minutes. bless their hearts btw they literally are the gods of this fandom. The Google translate isn't that far off and it's kind of difficult for me to hear well, but it might be right actually. When ㄱ ("k" sound) comes before ㄴ ("n" sound) in Korean, it actually changes to "ng" sound. So "막내" (maknae) is actually pronounced "mang-ne." It's done just to make the pronunciation smoother. (It's not a big deal to get wrong if you're not learning the language or anything. Just thought some people might be interested to know.) (:

@@MASKACID lmao, ARMY are mostly 20+ of age. even 40-50. 25% are males including me. 24yo a dude 😅 they are more than just a boyband they are legit and amazing artist.
i experimented with a lot of other groups until now, but i have never seen this much genuine love and appreciation between the members and aimed at the fans before. None of the fandoms i belonged to before felt this genuine and heartfelt. You can really feel that they love what they do, that they love us, that they truly appreciate the opportunities given to them and that they TRULY understand the meaning of fame to the point they know not to take it for granted and that it will end one day. They talked about very important topics and have explored a very wide range of genres with their 19 albums since 2013 (including Japanese releases). (I’m not even gonna go into just how unbelievably hardworking they are, they gift us free songs FOR THEIR OWN BIRTHDAYS GDI). So to answer your question, i think those are what the other groups lack and why BTS grew so much. They lack the love, dedication, the variety of genres and a good message.
Honestly, I feel like Dave would like Suga a lot more if he looked into him more. But then again he'd probably like RM better if he looked into him more too. XD (They're all awesome.) Oh btw, Hobi (J-hope) is a rapper as well. (You probably know that now since this video was put out a bit ago, but just in case. XD)
Someone needs to give him a big glass of water and a kiss on the cheek 😊🤗 (Not to say that is all one needs to feel good, but he's a sweetheart for the content he puts out and I hope he has people that look out for his needs. I know how hard it is to look after yourself sometimes, he seems to have cool friends and family and might not even want affection, it was just my first thought.)
I think authenticity makes BTS successful. People get a sense of connection with them, and while they can be glorified like other idols, they act as close and entertaining friends for potentially lonely people.
omg I remember watching this video last year when Dave posted it and not knowing who BTS was, and now I'm a full-fledged ARMY and watching it again... IT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE
16:45 when Namjoon calls himself "an idol", he means that he is an K-pop idol. In K-Pop industry, an idol is an artist who has signed with an entertainment agency.
BTS actually write their own lyrics and produce the sounds to their own songs/contribute greatly to the end content of their songs. RM on VLIVE, every time there is an album release actually goes through every song and explains their detailed meaning & which members contributed to each song. That’s what’s different. They create most of their content/greatly contribute to the end results of what they do. Media, Weverse, songs, dance routines, TV, VLIVE etc. Each album has a structure as well. I can’t count on my hands the korean entertainment partners that actually allow this to happen with their groups. They control almost everything they do, unfortunately, and they grind their stars into stardust. Literally. Look up Kris from EXO (and why half of EXO is actually missing)
RM is ernest on his UN speech. He's the same boy from 6 years ago. They have so much content, we've been able to watch them progress and they are very honest and humble.
Hi! I used to be a BTS fan before all the fame kicked in, and I'd like to answer your question! So at that time, not many kpop bands had such deep/meaningful concepts and so well thought. I joined in the blood sweat and tears era, and if you watch the MV, it's just so beautiful and mysteriously interesting. Then they had this concept of videos of each member representing something all connected together with really emotional stories based on a book, I can't remember which book but all of it was so mysterious and intersting. It's what made them stood out
“I hope I didn’t offend you armies” Dude you did the exact opposite you actually looked into them with general interest, most people don’t try that hard I appreciate it... 😂💜
Can we appreciate how he actually googled the pronounciation of their names intead of being like ' I'm a foreigner ... I can't pronounce Korean names. ' That's so thoughtful and kind.
He really would be. I'm OT7 because it's so hard for me to choose a bias but people think I lean towards being Jin biased but it's so hard because I love and appreciate them all and rap line, vocal line, and dance line all kill me and I can't win lol
Fun fact about RM: He's really good at math and writing, like poetry, he won awards and stuff and was ranked in the nation's top 1% when he was a student
@IY3S well technically there is no "k" in hangul it's ㄱ which in this case is pronounced in "maknae" by saying maaa and then ending the sound in your throat, then nae. so he's not far off. Haegu was ridiculous tho hahahaha

tae's my bias ;w;
To be fair Hobi was _originally_ going to be a vocalist
i experimented with a lot of other groups until now, but i have never seen this much genuine love and appreciation between the members and aimed at the fans before.

I think authenticity makes BTS successful. People get a sense of connection with them, and while they can be glorified like other idols, they act as close and entertaining friends for potentially lonely people.
What you did wrong:
1.) Use Google Translate.
2.)
3.)
I don't think he really translated anything but used the Korean voice to properly pronounce the romanized words.
He also used Wikipedia so, ya.

16:45 when Namjoon calls himself "an idol", he means that he is an K-pop idol. In K-Pop industry, an idol is an artist who has signed with an entertainment agency.
I knew you would choose RM even before I watched the video lol
same, almost every guy like him choose namjoon
Oopsie: you didnt watch their live performances
Me:**reads title** ok another Army
Also me:**looks at thumbnail** wait what the!?
RM is ernest on his UN speech. He's the same boy from 6 years ago. They have so much content, we've been able to watch them progress and they are very honest and humble.
Listen to Outro: Tear, Ddaeng, or Cypher, btw J-Hope is a rapper as well, you will love them when you hear them rap.

Things you got wrong:
• pronouncing every single Korean word wrong
• trusting google translate
I can confirm this
Buchi Shishi if you want to use a korean translator use navers. 100% not google.
this is why you don't use google translate to prounonce
Buchi Shishi I remember i didn’t know how to pronounce “Hoseok” so for a month i said “Jung HoeSoak”
@IY3S well technically there is no "k" in hangul it's ㄱ which in this case is pronounced in "maknae" by saying maaa and then ending the sound in your throat, then nae. so he's not far off. Haegu was ridiculous tho hahahaha
