You can tune the filter more precisely by going in the mod matrix and sending fixed to filter cut-off. You'll have to use both the "amount" and "output" sliders in the mod matrix to fine tune.
I knew you where one of us a quote unquote cat peepz 😀 Serum, the synth just refuses to die, it might be gathering some dust, but tweak it the right way and it blows all the dust away at a strike of the keyboard key. I love your videos, especially the Phaseplant, Vital and Serum ones (oh well, all of them... ) You are an inspiration maker,... a true teacher.
Man, it's MIND BLOWING !! Try to do physical modelling in serum, what a good idea !! One of the best sound design tutorial I've ever seen ! Thank you so much !!
Love these videos, might eventually buckle and buy Serum but manage to get what I want from Vital with some patience. Nice to see somebody else using the KSP too, wonderful piece of kit.
I randomly came across to this after I searched Strings Serum, this video was simply the best surprise in 2024. Didn't even know Serum could work like this. May I ask are there any ways to recreate some Chinese instruments like Xiao, Guzhang, Erhu by Serum? Thanks and Appreciate.
Hi thanks for the kind words! And good question! I am no expert on these instruments at all but I think the true differences between a lot of string instruments is their tuning systems and how it is played. The Guzhang is that harp-like instrument right? this often has very fast pluck articulations and arpeggios, and I think it's often tuned in pentatonic major. With just these MIDI inputs and a bit of tweaking with the patch from this video and maybe some EQ to fine-tune it afterwards can get you most of the way. I hope that helps!
Résultats intéressants. Peut-être encore un peu de détail mais l'idée est très bonne. Personnellement à partir de là je ferais un mélange avec une onde triangle filtrée et travaillée mélangée à votre travail. Merci de votre partage.
awesome! I’m getting into synthesis and after playing with serum, I’m seeing the value of deeper freedom with phase plant. I haven’t heard of the second synth you mentioned. I’ll check it out and see what it offers differently. Thanks for your reply Dash!
Well, I believe it's not very different in concept, someone will probably correct me, but object is a resonator (which uses a delay/modal frequencies) much like tuned comb filters
I finally got the Roland Gaia 2. I have connected thru midi to my DAW. But having a slight delay. its only a slight delay when pressing keys. Its not totally instant. I have checked the audio buffering. and few other settings. but maybe its me but there is a slight split of a second delay. Any advice or am I too fussy? Thank you in advance.
Nice! Latency is tied to the audio buffer size on the audio interface. If you set it down lowest it will help, otherwise you can monitor the input directly (most interfaces have a switch/setting for that) that has no latency 👍 hope that helps
@@DashGlitch Thank u for ur advice. I did try that. I have come to the conclusion it could be my sound card. maybe its me being too fussy. Im gona get a new sound card see if it helps. thanks again 👍
@@DashGlitch I saw that with the Expressive E Osmose synthesizer, sounds can be produced in many different ways depending on how you press the keys. Can you take advantage of these possibilities with modern synthesizers like Vital, Serum, etc.?
Just yesterday i was lamenting the fact ill never be able to sound like claus ogerman... (at least without asking ai to snatch that sound) you know if anyone has ever successfuly synthesized that kinda magical haunting string section sound? +its always sick to modulate an organic sound to morph into something synthetic
@@DashGlitch thanks. First pet that I had that was not shared with anyone else, so, it was rough. I adopted another cat now who is older. I think I am just going to stick to being a good finish for older cats.
I think maybe you missed the first minute or so of the video where I said you don’t need serum it’s a basic principle that can apply to almost any plugin, ps What ve done similar in vital too.
Dusty Serum lol survives the test of time over and over again! Thank you for the tutorial!
Yes it does! You're welcome, thanks for watching
I use Vital way more.
Its a great tool. Just there are tools that can do this even better
Amazing work Dash. So glad I found the channel, and I cannot lie your videos provide tremendous value. Thank you for the great work man!
Welcome aboard!
Super video BRO ♥♪♪♪ thanks
This is insanely high level, years later serum still holds infinite potential. Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it!
alot of cpu too 😂
Thanks
Thank you!
This man the last bits and bytes out of the dusty serum. Incredible work, as usual
One of the best and usefull tutorial ever seen on Serum!! Many thanks
Thanks!
Really nice more of those realistic sounds please!! :)
This guy is a genius
yo thanks!
your cat stole my heart
same lol

Thank You very much for this stuff! I am looking for something like this. U saved me

Thank you! Much appreciated!
Another fantastic and immediately useful tutorial from Dash Glitch. Thanks man, I've learnt so much from you!

Dang, that ended sounding really cool! Top job as usual, Dash!
Amazing as always
Thank you! Cheers!
It sounds incredible, almost better than the real thing :O!
Awesome stuff! Have you thought about making a video of bass synthesis using serial filters? Like a 24 + 6 db on the filter cutoff?
Excellent sound design tutorial thanks
Wow, super interesting this. Sound science in Serum. Loved it
This is pure gold
Thanks!

someone did strings with vital too and it's really reallly good i have the preset pack they made
Hello! Thanks for your videos that you have posted in TH-cam. I wonder which Midi keyboard you use in your videos?? Sincerely
Thanks for watching! I use Arturia Keystep Pro & Expressive E Osmose for MPE
Amazing stuff ♥
Very very good
Love it!
Dash what synth are you using primarily these days? thanks love your videos
Vst? Phase plant and zebralette3

Thanks!
Amazing
Que coisa mais linda!!!
mind is blowing right now lol
thank you
😂 old? i use multiple insurances of serum in every project
Vital next
are you planning on doing winds / brass?
Yea I'm still just figuring out which method I think works best and fine-tuning it but Im currently exploring those classes
@@DashGlitch that’s amazing man 🙏
that one song on GTA 5 radio: 3:21
LOL
great stuff dash !
sound like "Objekt" from reason studios

Wow!!!!
Thanks!
Your cat is gorgeous, very similar to one I sorely mourn.
Was not much good about that Good Friday, when my fuzzy little saviour bought the farm…
I’m sorry to hear that brother, it’s always tough losing a friend, I’m sure they know how much they’re missed

show same on VITAL
I have before, but I will again sometime
Хоспаде, почему он играет мелодию из Бригады (не заглавную, а сюжетную)?
I'm not sure what that is, but sounds intriguing if it sounds anything like the sounds in my head
