Tengo 53 años. Siempre solía decir que mis tres bandas favoritas son Nirvana, Pearl Jam y Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Luego me gustaban R.E.M, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, The Ramones, RATM, The Specials, Madness, The Cure, Cranberries, Green Day, Hole, Smashing Pumkins, etc, etc.
Never knew of The Interrupters until last weekend. We went to a Dropkick Murphys Show in Gilford NH and The Interrupters opened for them. OMG they were amazing. Better than Dropkick to be honest. My son and I jammed the whole set and afterwards someone from the band gave my son the setlist. Talk about making a huge mark on his life. He said it was the best night of his life and kept hugging me for taking him to the show. We are now both listening to The Interrupters non stop and cant wait for the next Tour. ❤
I'm the same age as Aimee. So coming from a fellow 90s kid to whom "...And Out Come The Wolves" was basically the soundtrack to high school, the honor of having Tim Armstrong producing your records is some shit I can't even imagine. So happy that The Interrupters are a thing, such a great band.
The children of 2 tone,, the grandchildren of Trojan.. I love a good throwback band.. pushing boundaries is great, but there's something special about keeping something alive!
I am 54 and was into the 2 tone ska scene in Scotland in the late 70s /80s and then about a year ago my teen kid asked me to take her to Glasgow to see a gig and guess who it was... I was blown away.. I've been to at least 100 gigs in my life and dozens festivals so I've literally seen hundreds of bands live and The Interrupters are in the top 3 gigs I've ever been to.. I just hope they play in Scotland again sometime soon.
You guys are my inspiration and I love you guys so much and I can’t wait to see you guys on June 1st I am so excited and can’t what to see you guy and every time I have hard time I play your song and I can’t wait to see you guys🥲🥲
I love a band that is more than it’s music. I’m 51 and seen a lot of bands and listen to a lot of music. This generation is in good hands. Thank you Interupters
The unity in our punk rock ska (wtv) family is so magical!! This is FAMILY. I never felt more at home than with this family. Punk rock and ska is home. 💖💖💖💖💖
The smell of a show. Before during and after is so familiar it gives me chills. The electric feeling in the air when a band you love comes on stage. The fact that everyone around you becomes instant family because you share that love for the music. It's magical.
Can’t wait! Love this song! Love this band! I am 60 years old an old school NYC Punk chick from the 80’s. Thanks for bringing Ska back. And come to NYC. Would love to see ya LIVE!
There is not a lot of music out there that makes me more happy when it hear it than the Interrupters! Just immediately makes me smile (and move along)! Very hyped for the Gig in Austria on the 27.!!!!!!
Watch the entire video. But, if you just want the music, here you go. 01:20 - A Friend Like Me 06:01 - By my Side 11:30 - Take back the Power 19:08 - Title Holder 24:20 - She got Arrested 28:31 - Bad Guy (Billie Eilish cover) 33:58 - Gave you Everything 38:56 - On a Turntable 43:18 - She's Kerosene 48:56 - Friend Like Me (reprise)/ Family
Great post, but you should add We Got Each Other at 54:45, although it's not the live performance. Maybe put it as 'We Got Each Other (Studio Version) / closing credits' or something 👍
I'm glad you guyz found each other and that Aimee made it out of childhood! Childhood is a tough period for some of us. Unfortunately, it does not stop there and the trauma keeps living inside. And I'm glad you make good music!
Cant Wait! Went to hella mega tour and saw them playing live without knowing any songs or anything about the band and now its one of my favorites! top 5 on my spotify in a couple months! ha!
Same! Hadn’t heard of them until I saw they were apart of the Hella Mega tour, listened to some of their songs, and now they’re one of my favorite bands!
As a teenager in the late 80s, I grew up on Punk and the Second wave of Ska so getting to see the Interrupters play twice here in Victoria British Columbia in 2019 at the Capitol Ballroom, was so absolutely amazing and brought back so many memories !! Hope they are able to come back n play again some day!!
I skipped the Hella Mega Tour because the Interrupters were the only band on the ticket that I like and it seemed kinda costly to watch one band before going home. Now I know seeing them would have been worth the cost of admission. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a concert film from start to end, but this one does it. Aimee is an amazing front for a wonderful band.
Gutted The Murphy's UK tour is off in 2022 as was looking forward to seeing The Interrupters and they're not playing the rescheduled dates in 2023. Love the 2-Tone era and music that inspired them and really getting into them even though only discovered them about 6 months ago.
Seeing The Interrupters was the best time I've had in my life at a show! So much fun! It's true, you can feel the love and how much she cares for everyone in the audience! Hope to see you again in the future in Pittsburgh! Delightful! ❤️
I remember walking into Terminal 5 in NYC. We pregame at a cool dive bar. H2O & Rancid… didn’t give a damn about the opening act. I walk in to Rancid’s merch table to pick up the Clockwork Orange Rancid tshirt. Oh wait!?! That’s Operation Ivy’s -Sound System! Coming from the stage. I peak around the corner and this stunning brunette is absolutely killing it! The band is on point too. Well, it was The Interrupters, was hooked ever since. Seen the over a dozen times since. Amazing, tight, professional, fun band to see live. They never disappoint. Thank You 🙏🏼
I’m 45. I caught onto the third wave of ska as a teenager just as it was ending, but I loved it all the same. It’s so amazing to see a modern day two tone band gain such traction. Your music is fantastic. I just saw you live this past October in Vegas and it was actually the first concert I ever went to with a two tone band playing. Thank you for doing what you do. I wish you all the best from the east coast.
Great band...been a punkrockskaskate punk in the 70ies and 80ies and still on and its great to see young people getting united under the flag of unity ..like your spirit...like your music...nice folks...!
I'm very familiar with '90's and 00's ska like The Toasters, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Specials, Rancid and Save Ferris. You know, the time you are in school, go out and visit festivals. After that time, music, interests and your taste changes as you het older. But The Interrupters are the first band in 20 years that gets me by the throat. Just recently I I learned about this band via a dutch alternative radio station. Their singer has the same power and the charism as Monique Powell had 20 years ago! What an amazing sound and energy!!!
I first saw the Interrupters open for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones almost ten years ago and have seen them every chance I get since then. They put on one hell of a show. I dare you to go one of their shows and not walk away with pep in your step.
Such an inspirational band. Great to hear Aimee tell her story of growing up, good and bad times, as it gives a sense of how it influenced the Interrupters songs. I both was and wasn't surprised they omitted her time in a relationship and music duo with Scott Russo of Unwritten Law (Scott and Aimee, if anyone wants to check them out). They kind of made it seem like she moved to LA, hung out on the strip then found the Bivonas and bam we got the Interrupters. Pretty sure Scott and Aimee happened in between and I have read it was another dark period of her life including substance abuse. Maybe that's due for its own documentary. Love this band, love this music. I hope the love between Kevin and Aimee only grows with the band!
I saw them at the Commadore in Vancouver on 23 April, 2023 (My Birthday!). It was literally one of the best live shows I have ever been to, and I've seen The Stones, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Rush, The Beastie Boys and many others. We are driving down to Seattle to see them again in September, with Sum 41. They are awesome in so many ways. Their music is just straight up fantastic. Their energy and chemistry on stage is amazing. Aimee's personal journey is inspiring and the bands love for each other as a family is heartwarming. Oh, and did I mention...the music is amazing!
I was put on furlough during the first lockdown here in the UK last year and didn't take it well. I felt lost and utterly useless but finding this bands fantastic music made me feel so much better. If I had those feelings I just listened to The Interrupters and I instantly felt better.
It is impossible to listen to The Interrupters and remain indifferent. It's impossible not to get infected with the energy, love and the feeling of unity that you convey through your songs. This recording was awesome! In fact, it couldn't be different, you guys are awesome! Thanks for your songs, you are our family! I love you guys! I still want to feel all this energy live!
My kids’ first punk show was Interrupters and Bad Cop Bad Cop at the Black Cat in DC. We were up front for the show and my girls rocked out, sang along, danced, and loved every second of it. After the show, Aimee, Jesse, Justin, and Kevin were so rad to my excited kiddos, chatting, autographing their set list and drumstick. We were already fans, but it made such an impression on my girls. Fans for life and my youngest likes to practice drums so she can play like Jesse. THIS is why I continue to listen and love the punk and ska community. Artists like this will keep the scene alive 🖤
As a punk living in Western Australia, I appreciate the footage of these gigs. We've just recently been banned from entering music venues, pubs, bars, even bottle shops, so having some access to music is really important for me right now. And since we've also been banned from having a job, I've now got the most time for my garden and my music. We're not gonna run and hide, but they've certainly pushed us to the side. No more punk bands allowed in Perth in person, so thanks for existing and screaming while we can't.
I never knew just how damn *WHOLESOME* this band was! I also had never heard of them (my daughters did!) before the Hella Mega Tour, but now I'm HOOKED! Keep inspiring, Interrupters!!
I drove my family across the country to Philly for the Hella Mega tour, it was my daughter’s first punk rock show. I love the Interrupters, and it was a great show!
This band means so much to me. The energy in their songs and at their shows is so positive, so pure, so powerful. This band will always make your day better and watching this wonderful film made me smile so much. Thank you for sharing it here for us all to see and enjoy.
I saw them at Punk in Drublic in Philly in . . . I think it was 2018 (?) and was blown away. When a band you've never really heard of knocks your socks off, that's a good sign!
Late to watching this but this has made my day. Everybody needs more Interrupters in their lives, guaranteed to put a smile on your face! So much love guys xx
Watching Aimee crying hugging Joan Jett, releasing her childhood pain all at once, is the most beautiful thing i will ever watch.
Agreed! It seriously made me get all teary-eyed! 🥲😭
Same here 🥹
Same here, so sad and lovely at once. She seems like a wonderfull person and wish a the best.
Yep. Gets me every time.❤️
Joan Jett! Woe, I was wondering if they met, and now I know. So cool!
One of the best bands I've ever heard...

Super underrated band!!
I have to say only one word: outstanding! ❤❤❤

Peace, Love and Ska unites the world - wherever and whoever you are.
Thank you Interrupters for spreading the message. ❤

I love a band that is more than it’s music. I’m 51 and seen a lot of bands and listen to a lot of music. This generation is in good hands. Thank you Interupters

I saw them at Punk in Drublic in Philly in . . . I think it was 2018 (?) and was blown away. When a band you've never really heard of knocks your socks off, that's a good sign!
That’s where we saw them first also!
I should say this. I’m a union president and I always listen to your music to get pumped before bargaining and other meetings.
Excellent music, excellent documentary, and excellent messages!! Punk rock saves lives! Thank you for staying true through it all. 🖤
