after heat knuckle, pot bust is not guaranteed if enemy did the back jump(9). but in this situation you can hit F.S in jump frame... only vertical jump(8) is guaranteed for pot buster.

I haven't been on the game in a bit, but that trick is indeed unavoidable! Like HK into pot buster (which was found to be jumpable and a bug in training mode), you are unable to YRC any move that guard crushes. This makes it truly unavoidable, unless they released a patch that changes the RC rules of guard crush while I was gone.
