I'm a kiwi All Black man through and through, but the All Blacks and various other countries don't have success without players like this. I remember Burger being one of the hardest bastards in union but also one of the most humble and respectable, which is why he was and is still is one of the most respected men in Union!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bloody great player. Big ticker and a true hard man of the game, never took a backward step and didn't have to resort to cheap shots and foul play like that grub Bakkies Botha. Much respect to this fella from a Kiwi
Michael M Yeah it didn't look good slowed down and replayed on repeat. I'd be the first to denounce such actions but I honestly believe there was no malice in that one. It looked like he was almost "playfully" grabbing around the nose, yes anywhere around the head and face is out of bounds, but it seemed more like a half hearted reflex movement, an instantaneous reaction that didn't appear to be overly aggressive or spiteful. The commentators (as they often do) blew it out of all proportion which in turn affects the way viewers interpret it.
Men of steel, Schalk , Pierre, Marcell, Ruben, Heinrich to name a few. SA make the best loosies. They all just seem to handle lifes blows like no one else can. We are proud of you all
I remember seeing him play his first Stormers game and turned to my friend and said "who the fuck is that" He was like a turbocharged maniac and it was just bouncing blonde hair, two tackles in a row etc. Doesn't get enough credit for his offloading and passing game which itself was a game changer. What a warm,friendly,chilled-out intelligent guy,top bloke Respect !
@@roberthutchison1561 such a stupid comment seriously !! If anyone would love Schalk the most it would be a kiwi I agree. I have two friends who moved to Auckland from S.A and they absolutely love your beautiful country
@@roberthutchison1561 i totally agree with you Robert..from a bok supporter.. there's that unwritten code of repect between All Blacks and Springboks people who truelly love the game of rugby

The Talented Mr Fitz loved him until he tried to gouge Fitzgerald, great player and inspirational story but that was always hard to understand

He donated a pair of his boots to a young man on the East Rand who couldn't find big enough boots to play in.

The Grace of God on a man who is called for the Kingdom
So, if you listen to some really prominent All Blacks, Schalk is probably one if not the most respected players to play against!
My favorite springbok ever!!!

Legend Schalkie
The incredible Schalk!!
I think we might know why the Saffas haven't been that great at Rugby recently without this legend. Hope we see him in the Green jersey again soon.

One of the most overrated South african players along with beast and Bakkies
This hasn’t aged well, Beast retires after a masterclass as a World Cup winner and a legend.
Ovverrated se MOER
So you mean underrated?
