DRAMATIC Horse Rescue In Flooded Louisiana Waters - FNN

A thousand people were forced to leave their homes early Thursday as a second round of unusually heavy rain hit an already inundated northern Louisiana. The southern part of the state was bracing for heavy rain later in the day.
Sixteen Louisiana parishes have declared a state of emergency, and the National Guard was sent in to help.
Guard spokesman Rebekah Malone says the Guard evacuated 361 people from homes in Bossier, Ouachita and Morehouse parishes since Wednesday morning, using trucks that can travel though water 20 to 30 inches deep.
I know I'm late but I just wanted to applaud these men for stepping up and helping to get these horses out of danger!

It's such a blessing that these horses were as calm as they were. I can't imagine having to rescue a skittish, out of control horse in those conditions
That's what I was thinking. Maybe they sedated them.
Those horses ,at least the two smaller ones, are eventers of some sort.Possibly polo ponies. They are a lot more accustomed to loading and different experiences than a horse that hangs in a pasture and only gets ridden for pleasure on a property it's used to.

great rescue. i hope the goat and any other animals were also rescued. i'm amazed at how well the horses loaded into the flooded trailer and that the truck could drive thru such deep water. good job rescuers.

I took the animal cruelty crime forward and rescueing animals god taking it down risked my life so proud to see you rescued them horses and dogs very special people god will provide what you need and to all the people in louisiana god bless you all you should be receiving money from him to help you 😁

Why would they freak out, it's just standing water. They don't know any better.
The horses were pretty nervous but considering the situation I think they handled it very well.

Tink Smith+ They´re quite nervous. Especially at one scene it is obvious. One horse jump almost into the back of one dude & stepped on his foot, because he didn´t paid attention enough, when a little wave was coming.
A chill horse won´ jump into the back of the person leading.
They were scared because they'd never seen water as far as the eye can see. And they didn't know how far it would rise. It's terrifying.

I am sure they were alright They had a safe perch (for the time) and at the end of the day, you can always send a small boat to go get a goat which you wouldn't be able to do with the horses. If the water got too high for the horse trailer before they were able to evacuate the horses they would have been in a lot of trouble.

When I see this, I'm not thinking "woaw my day is actually okay" I'm thinking "han woaw....I want to help them so bad I feel so bad for these peoples and animals, also for the ranch and all the money they will have to get after the hurricane, for secure and rebuild their house. I'm afraid for them and all the living in the same situation, and I can do nothing"

OMG, that was so DRAMATIC! I could barely contain myself. I was yelling right along with the broadcasters and those people leading the horses. 😮

I live in Louisiana and the flood was a really sad thing that happened to everyone that got flooded. I didn't get flooded thank god, but my family members did and some lost their whole house. August 12th this year would be one year since the flood and people are still not in their homes yet. There's FEMA trailers still out in front of a lot of homes. It was sad and horrible experience for me and a lot others.

Thank you for rescue horses! One thing I piss off at fat man that he rude to beautiful horse, he don't need to pull the rope down, he should pet on horse's nose to comfort horse. I'm not appreciate what fat man have done to the horse..

Actually If they were scared they would be a little less calm by a lot but some horses like water and as you can see they may not like it a lot but they don't mind
