Only if them elderly lady and man got help for this beautiful - amazing girl the out come would of been different. I hope the old owners get charged and put in prison. This is the cruelest story of animal cruelty I've ever heard - your horse gets kicked in the head you get help straight away not over 5 years later that's so fucked up . Rip Dory your in my heart 💖 for ever - I can't stop crying
Do what purposefully break the horses jaw and then purposefully not let the horse eat? Or was it that they allowed her to live so long. If they only knew the vet was going to simply kill the horse anyway. Why didn't they do surgery on the jaw? Why didn't they insert a feeding tube and fill her with blended foods? Why didn't they try? Yes she looked bad but they did the thing that saves them money and excuses the malicious prosecution of the latest owner who may have loved the horse deeply and was scared. In most cases now someone always wants to blame. I didn't see a great attempt to save this horse.
@@Youhaverights6 i don't think Dorey would ever be healthy enough for surgery. what gets me is "too proud to ask for help". nope, that holds no weight with me.
You need to keep in mind that her owners were an elderly couple in what appears to be a less developed country. They grew up in a different time, in a different country and most likely would not have known of or known how to get access to the resources this horse needed. How you grew up and were raised is very different from how people in these other countries are raised. Countries like this do not often have easy access to veterinarians, so I do not blame the elderly couple. They made this horse as comfortable as they could with what resources they had at the time, but willingly gave up the horse once they were able to get help for it. Think before just blame someone.
There is no excuse for the owners. When your animal gets hurt, take it to the vet or call one to come your farm. Don't let animal suffer for months with no help. If the owners were too old to realize that the injured horse needed help, they had no business owning animals. It is heartbreaking to watch.
@@Rivalstarloverforever Yea, it is their fault. Don't own an animal you can't take care of properly. If you can't afford to feed it, then surrender it. It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.
@“Lemonaid” with ADHD that makes no sense. With how many horses they have they would have clearly seen the gradual decline of the horses health and wellbeing, plus an injury to their mouth would be an obvious concern. They most likely didn't have the capacity to euthanize or they didn't want to spend money on it.
@@Rivalstarloverforever of course it is. did you not see the other healthy horses? that was entirely their fault. If you can't afford surgery to heal your horse the very least you can do is euthanize. even places that can't afford it can euthanize a horse humanely with a rope and a team of horses.
No excuse for those horse owners end of story, I was an animal control officer for 15 years I had a few cases like this one I cited for cruelty and always won my cases the bottom line is not everyone should have horses they're alot of responsibility, my reward was always bringing the horse back to a healthy life ,I believe if the horses jaw would'nt have been broken it would have made a difference, keep up the good work, the scary part is there's lots of horses out there that we dont know about good luck guys education is priority
you are right. even if one does not know something: there is allways a way to get the info and everyone in their right state of mind knows that an injured animal should be taken to to the vet. So not having a vet look after this horse after the accident is not a mistake it is not something one can count as ignorance it is cruelty. And no one has the right to be to proud to ask for help if that beeing to proud means suffering for any creature...
I note that the owners were an old couple. They grew up in a time when country dwellers in Spain had nothing. They had no electricity. No running water. No modern waste disposal or even cesspits. Their lives were not much different from the lives of their medieval ancestors. They had no efucation past 8 or 10 years old .
This made me sad and I cried for all of the pain she endured. In the end, although she had all of the love and supportive care she never received she was just spent. I think she ONLY held on for as long as she did was so she could show her gratitude for everything that was given to her. Her spirit is free now, galloping with all those who went before her and her heart is bursting with joy now. ❤❤❤❤❤

You rather see your beloved horse suffering, starving and in pain because you're too produkter to get help? I don't get it, to me that seems like evil, just because you're elderly, ignorant and seem nice doesn't seem like good enough excuse for all this suffering, I mean for months they saw it with their own eyes. It's just so hard to take in that totally normal people are fine with all this neglect, suffering and abuse of animals.
@@teijaflink2226 I agreed 100%. I have a senior horse that I watch his weight like a hawk. Always adjusting his feed as needed. There's no excuse to let it get bad. So sad.
@@teijaflink2226 I know it's been awhile since you posted this, while I agree with you this isn't an isolated story. In the USA thousands of pet horses annually are sold into the slaughter pipeline because of a myriad of reasons. The horse gets old or becomes unwanted or the family can no longer financially support the animal or they're sick and the owner can't afford vet care, or doesn't want to provide it. It's hard to do the right thing sometimes and they'll sell it or auction it because they won't or can't euthanize, they deem it too uncomfortable. A pet horse that has been brushed and fed and cared for is sold, confused, suddenly treated as livestock. Unfed, unwanted, unwatered, often for days being shipped across the border to Canada or Mexico in trucks on loud freeways to be slaughtered for meat. They're just looking for human kindness. The treatment of animals has a very long way to go. People need to understand that pet ownership involves really hard decisions sometimes in order to do the right thing for your animals. Dory is one of countless animals that suffer needlessly because the owners don't want to make hard decisions. I've had to euthanize pets and it guts me. I miss my babies everyday, but I know that when they were too sick to recover and were suffering I needed to suck it up, do what was best for them, and release them from that suffering. Hard things really suck sometimes. Anyway, not to pick on you, I just felt your comment. Have a good day!
What a precious animal. I was sobbing watching this, thinking of all the suffering she endured and the treatment she didn't get immediately. Thankful for the kind souls who showed her love and care at the end.
I watched this this morning and I found it so distressing, first of all about the injury that poor Dory suffered and was never treated for, I realize that her owners may have been elderly but they must have known she was suffering. God bless them for handing her over, and god bless all of you for trying to help and for eventually putting her out of her misery. She‘ll be at peace now, they are such magnificent animals, god bless her❤️
thank you for caring for her. it doesn't sound like she made it. i can't watch right now but may later. i have a horse myself and he is a healthy shiny pampered pet. cruelty to animals and neglect breaks my heart.
She didn't make it sadly, we tried our best but it was better for her to cross the rainbow bridge. It does break our heart as well when we see how people treat animals 😢
Of course! We are always trying our best to offer the best care to our beloved animals! Our main goal is to give them a good life as much as we possibly can and to give them a dignified goodbye when it's time. 😢❤️
So heartbreaking...horses have been our companions for thousands of years. They are trusting and loving. Something you wouldn't expect from a large animal. It is our responsibility when taking one as a companion that they are cared for in every way. Good food, clean home and medical care and love. They trust us to give them that. With any animal, if you can't do these things, don't get an animal. They deserve the best. Love ❤️ to you for all you do. It cannot be easy.
Thank you for helping her end this suffering, and giving her so much love, compassion and dignity in her last moments... this is heartbreaking to watch! 💔😢
Heart rendering, you tried your hardest, and she knew that. She is at peace now, the angels take care of her. God bless you all and her. There is nothing more than you could have done for her. God bless you all xxxxxxx

Thank God you where there for Dory in her hour of most need. The work you do is so underrated, but so necessary, what would these poor animals do without you is unthinkable xx
Thank you so so much for what you did for Dory. You're all angels sent from above. I'm so glad she had your love and support toward the end of her life. May she rest in Paradise free from earthly pain and suffering. Beautiful girl. ❤😢✨🙏🏼
This is so sad, how does this even happen to a horse? It's so awful, you guys are so amazing for trying and making her last bit of life a good one. It just hurts to even see she didn't have the strength to walk, or even kick someone for lifting her up. She really was a good horse... Poor girl, she will be remembered by the equestrian community who sees this!
Ive heard stories like this before; when a horse is too far gone, the internal organs shut down and the gut can no longer process food even when enough proper food is given to them. but a lot of them can survive and thrive IF they are rescued in time. for this horse; i cant IMAGINE any farrier putting SHOES on a starving horse!! why didnt the FARRIER TELL these people the horse needs surgery!! and if they declined/failed to act then the FARRIER shd have acted FAR BEFORE the horse got to this stage!!
@@CB-hi7mf if thats the case then why are auction houses let off the hook when a starved neglected crippled horse is brought to them to sell? the owner shd b immediately identified and chgd yet nothing happens.
Of course you are right. There are lots of idiotic people commenting and glorifying the carers who have no welfare experience and only prolong the agony of this poor animal.

Animals don't have souls, and cannot rest in peace, only persons have souls and only those who believe in the Lord and do the will of God rest in peace!! God bless you!!
@@nestorvilla3605 how do you know that animals don't have a soul?
❤Thank you for rescuing this sweet soul ❤you are a hero
You are all such an amazing souls! Bless your hearts😍🙏😇☺️💜🤗👍👏🤩😚🌹😘💐
so frustrating the owners didn`t realize what was going on. Bless you all for trying!!
They new whst was going on they didn't give a damm, send their ass to prison
Yeah
@@lynnstancil827 You are exactly right!!
@@lynnstancil827 That's what I Said!!!!!
Honestly. Just let one of the old owners get kicked in the jaw by a horse but don't give them the treatment they need, let's see how much they'll like that
Im so glad in those last few weeks of her life she had 24 hours round the clock of love and care 💔
This brought tears to my eyes, how everyone was sitting with Dory as she ate, how they helped her walk, how they did so much for her. Dory knew what we humans can do if they don't care about her actual well being, but thanks to you guys she also knew what happens if they do care. Really if we humans would just care a little more we could make life long friends. Dory deserved the world, i hope she's fine up there ❤
Gosh, in less than 6 minutes you made me cry...
Thankyou all those people who tried to save dory..it was horrendous to watch..people shouldn't have these animals as it's clear they don't know what they are doing ...Thank goodness there are these heros who save so many
I've rescued several horses and a donkey in a similar state. It crushes me to see these animals in this condition. Thank you for everything you are doing.
My daughter loves horses. When I showed her this she burst out in tears,
I hope that fabulous horse is okay :)
Crying right now... Rest in peace wonderful Dory ♥
3 seconds in and tears welling, heart sunk. Far out 😭 This hurts my soul man. 😭😭
😢wow dhe was messed up thankyou for your kindness she's in a better place ❤
Heartbreaking. Thank you for trying to give her a chance at the life and this world.
Honestly, I was shocked she had new shoes. Poor baby, she’s beautiful.
It breaks my heart to see people neglect horses like if they are not part of us. And There's people with a bigger heart hug's kisses to everyone. 🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝😩
Your guys are amazing my heart is broken right now because of this story
Thankyou for rescuing this poor horse
This is one of the saddest story I've ever heard or seen. God bless yall.
Its reality...... and should have been treated as such ! Put the horse down on sight ! Life is life ! Death is death !
I so, so very much wanted this to be a success story. How so incredibly heart breaking. Tears falling.
I knew she wasnt going to make it when they mentioned her "legacy". Saying that indicated her death left something behind.
Thank you for sharing this story. I am brought to tears.
Poor Dory, thank you for trying your best to help her🩷 ...least she past knowing some cared..🥺
Thanks so much
I cried bitter tears to see the suffering of this horse. It was so avoidable had these people sought help right in the beggining. Doris fought a good fight and let us with tears and inspiration to do better for animals. Our gratitude to all who got involved in her rescue. RIP Doris.
Dory should have been surrendered by her owners when it all began and they didnt call the vets to help her.
I can't stop crying. What a sweet soul. Thankyou for doing the right thing for this horse and giving her an end surrounded by love.
im not crying, you are 😭
I love horses..theyve been my favorite animal since I could talk..I can't believe anyone could do this
I’m Crying right now! They where so mean!!!!!!! Gosh! This made me sud!
I'm a mess watching this. It breaks my heart that someone can let this get this bad. Even being ignorant they can still see her starving. She was blessed to find you guys at the end. She knew love and kindness. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for your support!
@@mel720 thank you, Mel. 😔 💙
Thankyou for your service. I'm glad Dory found peace rip Dory.
Thank you for trying your hardest for her. Thank you for your work.
Ooooh my heart 💔❤️💔❤️
Thank you for making her last days full of love 💖💕💖
Thank you so much to rescue her
Thank you for all you did and still do to try and help the ones that need it the most. This video made me cry

Respect to you all for at least trying and making the last few days of Doys life the best you could 👍
oh yah, the guy playing the metal drum was doing a great job, they should have had someone burning sage and chanting with healing crystals too.
I'm so happy you save the horse😊😊😊
This is heart-breaking. RIP Dory😭😭
Bro I cried just seeing the people working hard for this horse love that’s all we need to change this world
All my love and respect to all of you guys
Thank you thank you thank you
THANKs for Trying to SAVE "Dory"
Also Hard to Watch Wild HORSEs being SLAUGHTERD 😢
This is so sad, how does this even happen to a horse? It's so awful, you guys are so amazing for trying and making her last bit of life a good one. It just hurts to even see she didn't have the strength to walk, or even kick someone for lifting her up. She really was a good horse... Poor girl, she will be remembered by the equestrian community who sees this!
Even those of us who are not big horse fans will remember. This was sad. No living being should be treated like this.
Absolutely people need to realise they have a duty of care !
I was thinking this exact same thing. Heartbreaking story.
Farriers HAVE an obligation to notify animal control in potential neglect cases.
Im crying 😭 bless her, shes no longer in pain
God bless you and Dory. 💔💕❤🙏😓😓😓😓
