  • The crew at Losi has really stepped it for the off-road enthusiast who wants performance handling and impressive electronics in a ready to run basher truck. We got our hands on the new Losi TENACITY TT Pro 4WD Brushless RTR RC Truck and we were impressed before we even opened the box. The TT Pro features a Falken (Or Brenthel) liverey on the trophy truck body and it has an LED light bar in the grill. Under the body is the rugged SCTE based chassis and suspension that are proven both on and off the track. This truck is loaded with Pro level parts like lightened chassis, aluminum shocks, aluminum shock towers and threaded turnbuckles. The big wow is the Spektrum electronics that will boost this truck to some insane speeds! In this video, we go over all of the important features and show you how the Losi TENACITY TT Pro performs. This is one review you can’t miss!

    Great video Greg!! Losi has another hit on it's hands! Question...I already have a DB Pro, is the TT Pro different enough to warrant picking up...or do you think they're close enough in driving capabilities/characteristics that it would be a little redundant?

    • @SebastianLong
      @SebastianLong 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't own the TT Pro but I do own the DB Pro. I feel like it would have the same characteristics as far as the drive goes if you ran your DB without the wing. Other than that I think the parachute effect from the body may be the only other difference. There essentially is very few differences between the two and you could turn your DB into the TT by changing bumpers and body mounting components. I think getting both would be a waste of money, but like I said, I've only got the DB Pro. Just stating my thoughts.

    • @rcdriver
      @rcdriver  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Plummer Thanks! The TT has slightly different handling traits, some because of the body, but I don’t think it’s enough of experience difference to add the truck to your collection. The DB is pretty awesome. Hope you’re enjoying it!

    • @DR-ip1rh
      @DR-ip1rh 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, it doesn't hold up very well... found that out the hard ( and expensive) way. I got this truck about a year ago, and I thought the same thing... I'll get a truck that's based on a race truck, and I'll be able to have a bit of fun at the track. The TT Pro wasn't out yet, so I got the all plastic brushed motor version. I also got the "Proformance" kit, A HobbyWing 120A ESC/3660KV Motor combo (great combo for this truck) and a Turnigy GT5 transmitter (not a bad little transmitter, since I don't race competitively) which made it mechanically identical, and electrically comparable to this. I took it to the local track running 2 cell lipo (6000mah Nanotech) and literally blew out the shocks halfway through my second pack. These shocks are the old style, with e-clip retainers for the pistons. I pushed both rear shock shafts through the pistons, embedding the e-clip into the piston. Fixed the shocks and took it to the bike park, doing some big jumps... happened again. It's fine for bashing, and ripping around parking lots and parks, but the track is another world. IF you want to race, or even if you plan to use it a lot, do yourself a favor: GET THE TLR SCTE 3.0 instead... it's A LOT better. It's more expensive, but it will save you money in the long run. Better shocks, better chassis, better tunability, better bearings, much better drive line components, MUCH MUCH BETTER MOTOR MOUNT (weakest part of the Tenacity)... basically, better in every way... Trust me... I've pretty much upgraded my Tenacity into and SCT 3.0... I should have bought the SCTE to start; would have cost less. I actually have the chassis plate and related hardware coming in a few weeks to make it official... after that, I'm going to stop calling it a Tenacity, since the only things left from the Tenacity are the diffs and the body mounts. I've done everything else... (Except the shocks and towers... For that I got a set of 8ight T 4.0 shocks second hand on ebay, rebuilt them, and made some towers to fit them.) I even made an adapter plate to mount the SCTE motor mount and center diff carrier to the tenacity chassis plate because the stock motor mount is so unreliable. If you want it to be reasonably reliable at the track, here's what you'll need: Wheels and tires (The stock rims are brittle and weak, and the stock tires are better for ware than they are for grip. Talk to the guys at the track and find out what works best on your local track); shocks (Probably the best thing to get is the SCTE 3.0 shocks. There are other options, but shocks are one of the things Losi does really well. I think the TLR 22 has the same shocks, but I'm not 100% sure.); Bearings throughout (Pretty much anything is better than stock... I got the cheapest ones I could find on ebay, and they have outlasted the stock bearings by far.); drive couplers and outdrives (I wore out the stock ones in about a month of bashing at the park... put in the SCTE 3.0 ones, and it's been about a year, and still have lots of life... one thing to note is that you will need to grind a flat spot on the input shaft on the differential to use the SCTE drive couplers. I did it with a dremel tool.); Steering servo (Again, pretty much anything is an upgrade from stock, but if you want to be competitive, or even hold you're own at the track, you should really think about spending some money on a nice steering servo.) A couple other thing to watch out for on the Tenacity: The motor mount; it's made form terrible steel, and is poorly designed. Check the screws regularly, use loctite, avoid removing it if you can, and pray that the screws don't strip; the hinge pin mount covers can break. IF this happens, the lower suspension arms can fall off at the inner hinge.. Make sure to keep spares... Again, the SCTE 3.0 has much better ones... and they do fit, but they are expensive... Do those things, and you'll have a reasonably reliable, not quite competitive truck that you can sometimes take to the track and not have to worry too much about... again... really... if you're going to use it a lot, or you want to take it the the track, you're better off getting the SCTE 3.0... you'll end up spending the extra in upgrades and replacement parts eventually anyway.

    I recently picked up this truck and my local hobby shop. Out of the box the truck only works half the time. I turn it on sometimes no drive or steering, reset the ewc and calibrate it, and then I’ll have steering and drive but no brake or reverse. Reset it again, and then it’ll work with steering drive and reverse with brake. I’ll drive it for a bit and if I stop then it’ll cut out and stop driving. I changed the connector because spektrum batteries are ridiculously over priced. But needless to say not impressed with a $670 CAD truck. Gunna wait a day or two to cool down before I call losi and rip their head off.

    Question: I just got one TT Pro and when I drive it with the AVC/ST. Rate at 25% the truck runs fine but if I dial it to 100% I get a lot of shaking and I loose control completely.
    My transmitter is the DX2E. Have you experienced anything like that? Is there some setting I should do?

    • @tylorarcher8439
      @tylorarcher8439 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you drive these trucks the front end gets light so when the AVC is set to 100 it’s working really hard to keep straight and the steering servo is making a lot of quick adjustments to try and keep it at what it thinks is straight. I’ve been running mine with it off

They made upgrades for it. Now they offer the 3.0 version in a race kit for what this rtr cost. I recently bought one of these and it’s just like I remember. Except this truck includes the quality parts you would want. Personally you can’t compare arrma to a losi. Losi/tlr is next level or better. Compare arrma to traxxas makes more sense to me.

    I really like watching your videos. Very helpful. But I got to say the music in the back ground when u are talking isn't very helpful. Just saying I think it would be better if you don't have it there

    This or BAJA REY??

    • @SebastianLong
      @SebastianLong 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My honest opinion, Baja Rey. It's more durable, but it rolls easier. I'm not saying it's obnoxious rollovers, but it just happens more often. I've got the DB Pro which is nearly identical and my brother has the Rock Rey which is pretty much identical to the Baja Rey. I've broken the DB twice. First isn't actually a break persay. Pulled the treads out of the rod end on a shock on a bad landing. The second, also my fault was I split the rear hub in two. I'm used to much larger RCs with slower air response. On another note, I've got the Super Baja Rey which, for the bind and drive, is only about $150 more. 😉

      @@paulclancy2404 The BND SBR is available and in stock on Horizon Hobbies. Not sure which site you buy yours from, but I just double checked myself. Probably restocked if you use HH. I'm not sure if you seen when the price dropped to $499, but I picked up two. One for my brother and one for myself. I haven't driven mine yet as I was to put the 750 kv motor in it. I also have the Super Rock Rey so I'm not bothered by not driving it. The SBR is a sweet RC for sure. It is currently $599 on HH if you were interested. 😊

      I think that they are trying to unload all of the Tenacity db, sct, and mt replacement parts piled to the rafters in their warehouse . Losi/HH should have released this version 1st IMO. Maybe consumers wouldn't be so skeptical about their rerelease of a platform that didn't perform or sell very well.
