Ok guys, I think Nightwish has the best fan army in the world now! Thank you so much for welcoming TRYBALS with such open arms and open minds. This is what this channel is supposed to be for, removing the man made barriers and finding something in common across different people.
P.S. I am already a Nightwish fan since 8 years now and today I am so proud to be one. We are from Pakistan where there is no such active scene of heavy metal. This journey with our TRYBALS friends is proving to be a very exciting journey for me and I hope it's the same for you guys as well.

The metal horned hand is a sign to scare away evil, to ward against "the evil eye". Like the Hand of Fathima. Metal often deals with difficult topics and the darker side of life, so that this sign has been adopted by the fans is interesting from a philosophical and spiritual standpoint. Research shows that people that listen to metal are better at handling difficulties in life, depression, hard times and challenges.

True, it's much more complex than just the surface meaning. I also believe it was adopted in part in defiance of being "the Devil's music" by the puritan conservatives. It's also given as a way to say "rock on!" - don't stop playing the music, don't stop trying, don't give up.
It's a very complex symbol, just like the music.

@@lil_weasel219 Tbh I've often read that Ronnie James Dio took that sign from his grandmother (or another female relative?) who did it for that reason. Obviously it has been recontextualized in metal and people do it regardless of whatever the original meaning may be.

Parvati looks stunning! The blue, the gold, her complexion, and her smile all make her shine bright like a star. As one woman to another, don’t let anything dim your light. You’re gorgeous, and eager to experience new things.
Muharam reminds me of the adorable favorite uncle in the family. I love his energy. Such a cheerful smiley guy. I wish I could show him all of the things he’s interested in. He seems so eager for new experiences. This emoji fits him perfectly🤩.
Abdul is a very wise, observant gentleman. His energy is very calm and comforting. He’s a patient man. I come from a dysfunctional family, I wish my grandfather was more like him. He genuinely looks like someone you could pour your heart out to and it would be cleansing for the soul.
Mohammad is curious and has an open heart for all things and experiences. He is a humble man. He smiles with his eyes and I tend to smile when he does.
Mukhtiar is, for the most part, a silent observer. I rather enjoy when he really gets into a vibe and enjoys himself like when he was moving his arm and hand to the music and singing.
And Adnan, sir, you have a heart of gold. It’s amazing how you want to improve so many lives and make changes that make a big difference. You are a treasure. The world needs more people like you. Keep putting out the content you do. It affects those who see it in such a good way! See you on Patreon, friend.

Hello TRYBALS ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me.
Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air (Germany) in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. I'm glad you chose this work of art as your first contact with the Nightwish music universe. I appreciate the sincere interest you showed in the comments.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.
I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol "

Last but not the least - they released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..)

Following the success of Beste Zangers show, Floor performed a series of solo concerts in the Netherlands in early 2020 with songs from her entire career (After Forever, Revamp, Northward, Nightwish, Beste Zangers) following that the last and the largest concert, at AFAS Amsterdam, to be professionally recorded and broadcast online, with the support of a crowdfunding campaign. After several rescheduling, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the concert took place at the beginning of September 2021 in 3 consecutive days. So far the first 10 songs from the concert plus the backstage documentary have been posted online, here is the playlist th-cam.com/play/PL8iSYWeQhlilDPohfKzmFC_wdTOllD3jh.html

Having seen nightwish in concert, and having been in their presence, there is a power behind every word and they have truly made a "family" with their fans. I had never been to a metal concert before so I didn't know what to wear and my dad didn't either so we wore normal clothes. Everyone else was wearing leather, and metal, and the typical metal band stuff, but not one person made us feel unwelcome. It was actually the opposite. People wanted to know if we'd seen them before, and gave us tips for what we should expect and if we needed anything to just ask. During the show my dad and I cried with the crowd, screamed with them, sat silently with them, and felt like we had found friends in this amazing place. Nightwish is a true example for what bands followings should be like. No matter the genre

This is great! I knew that sooner or later TRYBALS would react to GLS & our Valkyrie queen Floor. To the gentleman who thought he once saw a mermaid on the local market, I say that he's right. Don't let 'em fool you.
Floor is Dutch and so am I. We are seafaring folk and we see these mermaids all the time. Sure, at the market there's the odd imposter every now & then but that's inevitable. You know and we know they're real. How else did Floor get that siren-sound? ;)
Thank you all for another great reaction! Cheers from Amsterdam

I love those little growing smiles as Floor starts singing. And they get to hear her an instrument. Sure, her words aren't understood, but they get to hear her voice strictly as an instrument, which I think is equally impactful 💙

I don't know what your plans are, but I'd love to see a reaction to Bloodywood - Jee Veerey. They're a lovely band who care a lot about their fans, so much so that they bought some counselling sessions for their fans to use for free if they feel it may be helpful to their mental health (one of them talks about this at the end of the Jee Veerey video)

THIS is the power of music. Well written, exquisitely performed. There are no barriers. Everyone comes together to enjoy the talents of others. I am SO happy and excited they got to experience Nightwish and the amazing vocals of Floor Jansen. (In my opinion one of the greatest vocalists alive on the planet) Thank you for doing this. I enjoy watching their reactions. Regardless if they like what they are watching or not, it is beautiful to see.

Once again, Great Job at bringing so many different parts of the world into one. This is only my second time catching Floor Jansen & Nightwish. This song could be about a sandwich that she made and after stepping away for a short moment only to come back and find someone else had eaten it and still be an amazing performance. Her voice is SO powerful and precise. I could see Parvati's mind moving so fast throughout the video, I hope she knows we wish her to speak her mind whenever and however she wishes. Peace/JT

My favourite song from my favourite band. Lots of recommendations will come now for Nightwish or Floor-Songs...but I would recommend the live-version "Ayreon - Valley Of The Queens" with Flor and two other metal ladies...beautiful, very much the opposite of the bombastic sound of Ghost Love Score, showing a different side of Floor etc
