Liftmaster changed the sensor brackets recently to have one clip that you can remove if you want to bolt it onto the track or mount it to the wall, i thought they were going back to the kind this chamberlain had but I haven't seen them change yet. As for the tracks if you're able to fit a 12 inch radius then do it. If 12 inch won't fit then go low headroom. 10 inch radius never really works well.
Genie is so much better in LHR situations, but I don't like how their rail is shorter. I hate doing it but I've had to notch out wood beams because of LM's exposed trolley.
I installed a customer supplied Chamberlain a couple years ago, it was a 10 footer with the extension kit and that thing bucked around all over the place, it works ok for what it was intended, but I wasn't impressed at all

Were you referring to the pro genie models having c channel rails? The new diy ones at least that I can find have a similar rail to the chamberlain’s
