  • Indigenous Teen Nex Benedict was born on January 11, 2008 and died February 8, 2024. They loved drawing, reading, video games, and especially their pet cat Zeus. They were bullied relentlessly for their Gender Identity of Non Binary and Two Spirit, and it was because of this they were targeted. Nex should be alive.

I came to this video from the proposal video. It was so perfect, I thought to myself, "This can't be real. No woman could be so loving, and not have a hangup, elsewhere. There's got to be _some_ catch, right?" Well, here it is.
This chick went from, like, a princess to coming out as an utterly brain-washed "it" in under two years' time. I can't help but feel this whole thing was a convoluted route taken for maximum malicious potential; to make him SO HAPPY, just to absolutely annihilate his dream... How can that _not_ be malice? Even if he already knew she was "nonbinary", it's a sure thing that he hoped it would just never physically manifest. Now his dream woman has been figuratively killed off. For all the dudes who were legitimately envious of her fiance for how "lucky" he was, understand that _this_ is what modern culture and social media have taken from you -- The type of woman she _appeared_ to be does not exist, any more.
Miserable truth: With females, there is ALWAYS a catch.

I've been out to my fiance as nonbinary since the beginning. It's all of yall strangers I wasn't out to because you love to judge what you don't understand. He makes my dreams come true Every Single Day and I am in heaven because he is mine. Don't speak on things you know nothing about

He proposed KNOWING I was nonbinary. And our happiness only grows and grows every day. I hope you find someone who makes you feel as loved and accepted as he makes me, then you won't have to hide behind ignorance.

@@autumnskylardoeseverything I recognize your claim that you were "out" to your fiance from the "beginning", and I fully hope that's the truth. If you're both truly happy, that's wonderful. My comment was made toward the males watching, in general: You may serve as something of a "cautionary tale" for them.
See, being as forward as you (allege to) have been with your fiance is not how all women are; There are women (and I'd wager the overwhelming majority, actually) who would intentionally keep such feelings a secret, then springing them on the man when he was locked into the relationship. You may - by some _astounding_ coincidence - be the possibly singular exception, but that doesn't prove the rule.
I disagree with the whole "nonbinary" concept, in its entirety, but I do still hope you both truly love each other -- I'm not against that. I also appreciate your hope that I "find someone who makes [me] feels as loved and accepted as he makes [you]." It's a kind thing to say, especially in this comment section full of people seemingly attacking you. I doubt that's most commenters' intent here; I think most people just believe that they would feel "betrayed" in this situation, not fully understanding the dynamic you and your fiance have privately. It may be ignorance; it's certainly bias... but not everyone who disagrees with you - including myself - is against _you specifically._ I loathe of the possibility of this ever happening with a woman I proposed to, so it's difficult for me to accept it, even for others. That doesn't affect your love for one another, however, and I'm allowed my opinion, and the expression of that opinion.
If you read back my original comment, while _referring to you,_ it wasn't _directed at you._ You couldn't possibly understand the process a man goes through trying to find the "right woman", anyway. It would be like ME trying to tell YOU what it's like being "nonbinary". Again, and most importantly, if you two are happy with each other, then I'm happy for you.
As an aside -- even though we're, like, "internet enemies", now: You have fantastic grammar, punctuation, and diction. Most would fail to even recognize that, but not I. Good on you. 😄

If my fiance did not accept me for who I was, he wouldn't be my fiance. When I say that, what I mean is that he knew long before that proposal how I felt. I came out to him about my experiences years ago. Happiness in a relationship is also reliant on self happiness, you can not trade one for another. I appreciate that you think what you are saying is helpful it actually furthers the narrative that people such as myself have to mold ourselves into people we aren't to recieve love. The fact you jump to the assumption my fiance isn't okay with this, as if that changes who I am inside, is an unfair jump to make. No one should ever have to hide who they are because someone else is "uncomfortable" with who they are. He accepts me and loves me unconditionally. If he judged me for being genderfluid that would be a conditional love, and no one should ever have to be in a conditional relationship. There is nothing wrong with me. The most important thing is that I am honest with myself and happy within myself. Otherwise I could never be truly happy. I hope every single person on this planet can live a life authentic of who they are and not be afraid of being rejected, just like I am lucky enough to do with my fiance.

The proposal was very touching, and I saw a man who loved and accepted you for who you are unconditionally. Why would I think that he would take issue with your gender identity??
