    You cannot have said it more perfectly I am not in the business of cleaning windows I am in the business of keeping windows clean I am going to use that for my business from now on thank you so much I have learned a lot from this video I appreciate your Insight knowledge and wisdom

    Exactly..no one offs, no seasonal customers, no skipping unless for good reason, no traditional, no haggling. Once one starts, they tell their neighbour and before you know it becomes a problem. Learned from trial and error.

    Great video mate, love your attitude, I had a customer ask twice in 6 months to leave it this month, I said I charge a 3rd more for bi-monthly, he told me not to bother coming again. I'm short of work and need all the customers I can get but not a time waister like him, I'm building a solid round not with people who mess me about. Thanks again

    I have to agree. Cos when it's 'not this month' and again the next month guess what....you now have very dirty windows to get clean all over again almost a first clean sometimes.

  • @KyeHortonNinjaWindowCleaning
    @KyeHortonNinjaWindowCleaning 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Haha yes! That’s exactly what I say. ‘I’m not in business to clean dirty windows I’m in business to keep windows clean’ simple and to the point.

    I remember during the recession having no money and only a couple of window cleaning jobs. If someone did that (cancelled when I arrived) it was really devastating because I was relying on that job literally so I could buy food

    Your philosophies are absolutely 100% correct,...... except for when you are building up your round and can't afford to lose them. All well and good if you can afford to cast them away.

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's not a matter of 'if you can afford to cast them away' Mark, it's a matter of you can not afford NOT to cast them away. These are toxic jobs, will drag you down, demotivate you and find every excuse in the book for not paying. You're better to ax them off and invest the time knocking a few more doors to replace with a quality customer that suits your profile.

    I just turn up and start cleaning, put the guilt trip back on them, they pay..
    Or say 8 weeks clean 2/3 price increase from monthly clean, I've given you a good price for every 4 weeks cut and dry kindly,, I clean every 4 weeks not monthly you work it out you get 1 extra clean out of them in a year .. 13 instead of 12

    I agree - it's either a regular clean or nothing. Some exceptions allowable. I often find the wife wants them cleaning but her husband doesn't. The whole problem I see for w/cleaners is noone really needs us like they do other trades, and the impression most people have is we need the work and couldn't get anything better.

    Great video, I have show my husband as he never use social media your video. Thank you, he wasn’t happy the other day as his shop customer wanted him to drop price again down by €2 as he said their window cleaning company going around doing it cheaper. Well I think we are dropping this customer as he a p taker but he on books at the moment. I have said to my husband look you need to stick to your price if they don’t match just move on. We live in very up coming place and more and more houses are being built so there lots of people why worry about someone else who charging less if you go into price war u make nothing. He does a amazing job but I have told him to toughen up which he has and I think in any business you need to stick to your own rules and who your ideal customer will be.
    I have five years running a care business and learnt a lot in that time and so naturally my hubby Darren wanted me to help him and believe me mother of twins I am fair but do not take the p so we have change the way we work now. Great video

    Hi mate, what is your advice on customers that want to skip the winter months. My gut reaction is drop them as I want all year round work.

    I’ve started charging £5 extra on the next clean when they cancel a clean... some get arsy, some quit altogether and some understand I’m running a business and not a charity and happily pay £5. In reality throughout the year they may miss once or twice and so it’s hardly worth worrying about paying £5 extra once or twice a year. If they leave well then like you said I don’t want those flakey customers anyway

    Interesting to see how others organise. i phone up customers a day before to ASK them if they would like their windows cleaned and give them a 2 hour time slot. i never just do the windows because half the time they wouldnt be in and i cant get round back and sometimes they dont want them done. i never found it a problem. lot of my customers didnt like the fact that their previous wc would just turn up. now they are happy to have me. i cant do same day every month coz other jobs etc . great video though

      Hello Gaz, yeah, it's a bit of a sticky one. Having been stuck in Asia so long now it's hard to update as there is no real window cleaning industry here at all. I was thinking of diversifying the channel to either be more about life here as an Expat and what that entails and the water stations etc we built or, option B, move it towards a commentary channel about the geo political state of the planet today. You would be amazed at the amount of news that the BBC ARE NOT reporting outside the UK, If you check BBC from overseas it looks like Blighty is all daffodils and sunshine.. Thoughts or suggestions welcome on how to move the channel forward. The window cleaning content will remain of course as a kind of 'Archive'

      @@Darren-Green Hi mate, many thanks for the reply. Definitely do videos on life over there be interesting mate. I never really look at tge BBC as its biased and only give a one sided view. The UK is not great political wise as new PM stopping winter payments for pensioners and big taxes to come in the next budget. Glad your doing OK mate.

    What do you say to the customer if they say the reason is ‘bad weather is coming’ ?

    • @Darren-Green
      @Darren-Green  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Edwin Noort I say 'So is Christmas' .... Look Mrs Smith, the rain won't affect your windows at all once so clean them but if you want me to leave them that's fine, you're the customer....... now with just that 90% will say clean anyway 10% will say leave it so I will leave it and go to my books and remove them. No tolerance for time wasters. I don't recall the last time I was asked to leave it cause of the weather.

    • @Andycfto
      @Andycfto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rain water is as clean as the pure water you use so the rain wont affect the windows.I don't take no bull from customers that muck me around. you need to get shot cause if you don't you will eventually have a whole load of crap customers I learnt this the hard way. and as Green Pro says 3 strikes and your out is the same Moto i use.
