    Thanks, I learned a lot from you. I bought a 9-gallon sprayer. It is much easier to carry water around the house. The sprayer pump is perfect to use Reach-It construction brush and no problem to carry water till the 3 stories building. I use just 30 ft rhino and I enjoy the freedom. Thanks again

    I love my trolley system. When I'm on the job I keep the trolley as close as possible to me so I don't need to use to much hose this saves on time unwinding and winding back up again. Its also great for areas where you can't get a van close enough to the job like the backs of houses and pedestrianised areas so you don't need to have hose running along the footpath or pavement which could cause an accident.

    • @MyWagga

      Its a common question and a difficult one to answer. For a start many go for the cheapest option like a fibreglass pole. Not a good idea. Go for carbon fibre right away. I reckon you need to budget for at least £800. A good pole and brush is the main thing. A DI is also cheapest option but if the tap water in your area is over 150ppm (parts per million) pollution, then it becomes too expensive to run and a RO (reverse osmosis) system will be required. RO systems are initially quite expensive.

    Exactly how I clean. Apart from i wind my hose around top of my trolley and take off what I need. I have a fishing trolley though for my b pack. I also don't fill my containers up too much as you do as they weigh a ton when full.😁 . I only get through 4 barrels a day as I only use it on ups mainly. I have a gardiners pole and b pack. My mates keep banging on about me getting a tank fitted in my boot but I will never do that as I like this system. Thanks for videos. Any chance of some demonstrations of you using that gear sometime?

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stevie, yes I agree with you. I have used the van system but it really slowed me down and I found the 100m of hose a real pain. Ok, I would probably get used to it in time but I really like what I'm using already in the back pack. There are so many advantages. I generally only use 4 barrels too. I am working on some videos of demo's on how I use it. I am uploading some soon but they take an age because my internet is slow for HD.

      The simplest way is to harvest rain water but in the United States, I was told it was illegal. The next simplest way is to use a DI but if the water is hard then it will cost too much.

    I live in an area with high PPM.. tested the water and it read 317. As of right now, I only have a DI Vessel. Is this a bad idea to only have a DI system? You said a DI tank will only last 5 minutes at 300???

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's a bad idea as the resin that you purchase to put into the DI vessel will not last very long. You need to buy a RO system instead. You need to research all about them.

    Hi. I currently purchase water from friend. But maybe in the future I will be filtering my own. I only use 100 ltr a day for ups and some downs and have been looking at ro systems . What gpd system would I need as I don't want to over spend on something that's going to fill a swimming pool overnight. Cheers !

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +stevie keane Can't you just use a DI system instead? A RO system will be quite expensive. If you are only using about 100L per day, then it might be a better proposition. If your water is not too hard, then it might work. As for a recommendation for a RO system, I can't advise on this since I have not used one for over six years and I guess they have improved a lot since then. If you were to speak to someone at say Window Cleaning Warehouse, they will advise you on the best route to take.

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      SAJ Window Cleaners Ltd Hi Stuart, the best thing is that it won't grow any weeds! Wev'e had ours down for about 10 years and shows no signs of cracking. The colour has stayed pretty good and not much algae grows on it. If you get a really good company to do it and this is the key, then it beats block paving hands down. All I ever did with it is to give it a clear seal now and again and it looks like new again after a bit of a power wash but it never seems to deteriorate like block paving. I am going to try what is called "Pro-Kleen" that one of my customers recommended. You just spray it on and it kills everything instead of pressure washing when it don't need it. Against, well if you ever need to get to anything under your new drive then you can't patch it up like block paving but it would be extremely rare because technology allows pipes or cables to be routed under by special machines so you don't need to disturb the drive. Do some research into who's going to do the best job and see if there is a guarantee. I can't remember who did mine.

    I am traditional but would like a backpack for difficult to reach windows and the occassional Conservatory roof clean. What do you think of the Nigel from WCW? It has a 20L tank adjustable flow rate and I assume the same battery and pump as the facelift Big Boy? The nigel has a trolley that will fit in the boot of my car. Just wondering if it is up to the job and powerful enough.

    Hi Chris love your videos great tips. I have bought two kobold back packs trolleys £95 each they were great as lite and ideal trolley for my bad back, but 2 months in 1 the variable flow units bust and now flows like a jet spray ,replaced the part and it went a month later again. Now 2nd back pack playing up as well. Only work part time but going through water at a crazy rate. Can you recommend a better back pack trolley or stationary back pack, that has a reliable variable flow controller and lasts longer. As I don't want to risk buying two more and same problem arising. Brilliant idea about the stationary backpack and trolley and bungees.

      There is deionised water and there is reverse osmosis. Both will work for cleaning windows. You need to check your tap water with a water meter to see which system you will need. If your water is very poor, you will need a RO system rather than a DI.

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first thing you need to do is to get a TDS meter and test your water to see how hard it is. If it's soft enough at around 100 parts per million, then you can get a DI vessel as you can see in my video complete with resin inside it so you can make pure water immediatly. If your water comes out at much more than 100 then get back to me.

  • @ashwager19
    @ashwager19 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey so what's the difference between a ro system n a di system?

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A DI system purifies the water using de ionisation. RO system by reverse osmosis. Di uses a tank with resin in it. RO uses filters but is required in areas where water is hard. RO is expensive and you might be better off using a DI. You will have to buy resin for DI but depending on how big your round is, it should last a while.

    I would love to get waterfed pole system but this seems a lot of stuff to be carrying around on for a job that would take 10 minutes can't u just put the resin in the backpack rather than using a Di tank . At the moment my customers are scattered all over so this just seems a lot of trouble because by the time you set this up surely it just be quicker to use ladder or extension pole.this is kinder putting me off my getting it now .

      +Christopher Dawber I suspect that Jaime is from the US as I am. The US window cleaning supply companies don't seem to be as friendly to the DIY'ers as the UK companies are.
      However Home Depot has this similar unit: www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-4-Gal-Internal-Piston-Pump-Back-Pack-Sprayer-MS402/205533110
      And I suspect that they have the water line as well. Also, I just found a Gardiner carbon fiber pole on Craigslist for about half the price of a new one. Check Craigslist!!!
      Now you just have to piece together a homebrew RO DI system.
      BTW how many gallons or liters did you use on this size house?

    • @MyWagga
      @MyWagga  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to do upstairs with the water fed and downstairs with trad gear so I can get about four houses out of a backpack but be warned; this is only on maintenance cleans where the windows are already pretty clean. I do mine every four weeks here in the UK.

      Christopher Dawber My wife is from N. Wales and after our wedding I lived there and operated a small window cleaning company in the early 90's. Black soot from the coal fires on the frames and so forth. Ugh.
      In the SE of America, if we clean a home ever 6 months we consider ourselves quite lucky. I'll assume you meant four houses upstairs from just one full backpack of water. That's nowhere near as much water as I assumed you would need. Thanks.

      JBIRD575 you will need a DI filled with resin. This is what filters the water. When it's filtered, it cleans perfectly as long as you do it right.

    Why the containers? Why not just plug it into the tap via a hose

      At the speed I have to work it would not be practical. No-one would like it either since they all on a meter. I find the barrels no problem at all. Pour em quick do several houses on one back pack full doing the bottom windows wit a squeegee.

    Window cleaning joke - When I quote $20 to clean the front windows and they say I’ll give you $10. I’ll say ok but I'll clean the windows with clear water and let them “air dry” no squeegeeing included, since I can’t afford the soap on this deal. What’s the difference they are trying to run you off and you won’t ever stop there again anyway.
