I feel sorry for the poeple that actually are homeless and do need the help because people need to realise most of them only do it for there next fix an that's stopping the people that are really homeless from getting the help they need. There's a point of no return when it's been a long-term addiction. The first people it hits first is there family's thay have help were they can and had anything of value stolen. If thay keep going back to that way of live it's were thay stay point of no return.
I had an addiction to heroin and crack for 28 years,my brother committed suicide at 42 due to his addiction and In that last year of my addiction, everything was falling apart, social services involvement, father being diagnosed with cancer then dead within 8 months, my Nan passed away 3 weeks later, sister had a psychotic break and with all that chaos around me I had found a peace id never felt before, I was abstinent from the illicit drug use, found connection from talking to others, started to drive a car for the first time and I knew everything i had gone through had to happen to make me into the person i am today and not only was i in addiction but my wife was too, and if you have ever been in a relationship when both of you are addicts its near on impossible to get out, but we did, what you might think is impossible is your mind telling you its impossible but in reality anything is achievable, just like when you was a child, baby steps at first, learning to walk then running, you have to let the past be the past forget the guilt the shame because tomorrow you will achieve the impossible free from addiction

The kids who come through the care system, should not be abandoned the way they are. They are vulnerable young adults, no family behind them, no one to go to for help, they are easily manipulated by unscrupulous people.... They could create youth hostels for them, a room & a bed. Offer them opportunities to access useful training courses, that could get them into the work place and get them on a path to a better life.... I don't know, what does it cost to house an imate ? Invest in these kids, they deserve it. I could not imagine being without my caring family.

Ive had a similar path to yourgoodself but at 60 yrs of age ive finally sorted myself out, some people never do so its a win for me. I'm afraid the immigrants don't matter in terms how how domestic people are helped. Daily Mail and media establishment convinces people that the majority of domestic Brits are lazy scroungers. They'd call the 27yo man a scrounger and say he deserves nothing. That's why we have people with nothing. You ARE given a hotel as a domestic Brit and only lose it if you deal drugs/dangerous/abuser etc. Even if they reduced immigration to 0, you'd still have poor Brits being mistreated. Part of the problem for Newcastles homeless is thanks to the eternal labour council have an agenda of open borders, being a now "sanctuary city"... I was on housing list with council with my then wife who was a wheelchair user.... in our 20's.... I'm mid 40's now and back on the list with my new family.... stuck with migrant landlords who just care about the rent and not the upkeep of the property Migrants from every country were and are automatically given higher priority than ourselves, the NATIVE locals. Don't get me wrong there is a lot of help for those with addiction and who are genuinely homeless in both Newcastle and Gateshead, I know people who work in the sector. Sadly for some the lure of the durgs outweighs their desire to live a better life, and that aspect of their life isn't seen to by the authorities (its not the staff in direct contact either, they are usually good, its management).
I'm afraid migrants or no migrants, your life wouldn't be better or worse. You'd still be poor and called a scrounger/benefits fraud. Migrants play no part in why your life is good/bad. They can't even work and British people get offered hotels/houses too.

The drug addiction problem , including alcohol has been exacerbated by drug takers expecting society to care for and enable them ... They exhaust every path to recovery and then are enfeebled at the edge of that society ...IMHO the only way to arrest this is to have extremely tough measures at the early stage of addiction , enforced institutional lock ins , drug tests daily and enforced training for vocational work in society ...the current process is patently not fit ....extreme tough love ...
I used to go to a gym in centre of town after not going into town for a few years it was an eye opener with the homeless. Some like Kevin there you feel for and some are too far gone and grief everyone.

I had an addiction to heroin and crack for 28 years,my brother committed suicide at 42 due to his addiction and In that last year of my addiction, everything was falling apart, social services involvement, father being diagnosed with cancer then dead within 8 months, my Nan passed away 3 weeks later, sister had a psychotic break and with all that chaos around me I had found a peace id never felt before, I was abstinent from the illicit drug use, found connection from talking to others, started to drive a car for the first time and I knew everything i had gone through had to happen to make me into the person i am today and not only was i in addiction but my wife was too, and if you have ever been in a relationship when both of you are addicts its near on impossible to get out, but we did, what you might think is impossible is your mind telling you its impossible but in reality anything is achievable, just like when you was a child, baby steps at first, learning to walk then running, you have to let the past be the past forget the guilt the shame because tomorrow you will achieve the impossible free from addiction

Course it is because they're everywhere ,I think it's all been planned .every street a habit . if they go in a hostel they're in with the same crowd .the church give out blankets wow .
I grew up in the same place as this man I can recognise him. He was a normal family man till the drink and drugs took hold of him happens far too often hope one day he can get clean 🤞🏻

The kids who come through the care system, should not be abandoned the way they are. They are vulnerable young adults, no family behind them, no one to go to for help, they are easily manipulated by unscrupulous people....
They could create youth hostels for them, a room & a bed. Offer them opportunities to access useful training courses, that could get them into the work place and get them on a path to a better life.... I don't know, what does it cost to house an imate ?
Invest in these kids, they deserve it. I could not imagine being without my caring family.

I was born in wavertree and found your channel 2 months ago so apologies for not commenting sooner. I can relate to all your experiences as i was born in the 60s and basically from the streets. Ive had a similar path to yourgoodself but at 60 yrs of age ive finally sorted myself out, some people never do so its a win for me. All i wish is that my wisdom was with me when i was young but nobody young has wisdom as it comes with age😂😂. Been binge watching your channel for the last few days and im enjoying every second mate so thanks for that. I'm afraid the immigrants don't matter in terms how how domestic people are helped. Daily Mail and media establishment convinces people that the majority of domestic Brits are lazy scroungers. They'd call the 27yo man a scrounger and say he deserves nothing. That's why we have people with nothing.
You ARE given a hotel as a domestic Brit and only lose it if you deal drugs/dangerous/abuser etc. Even if they reduced immigration to 0, you'd still have poor Brits being mistreated. The system doesn't care about them and chooses not to given them money.

Ridiculous that we have locals on the streets, whilst the north east is 1 of the biggest areas for the club 18-30 dinghy boys to be housed in hotels in the area, I live Newcastle Billy, the Novotel at Kingston Park is full of them, it is huge!

What a shame, that young man's condition is alcohol and drugs. I feel sorry for him. Here in Penzance there are lots of homeless i walk and talk to many of them, get them some food and drink (coffee tea ect) such a shame.

Part of the problem for Newcastles homeless is thanks to the eternal labour council have an agenda of open borders, being a now "sanctuary city"... I was on housing list with council with my then wife who was a wheelchair user.... in our 20's.... I'm mid 40's now and back on the list with my new family.... stuck with migrant landlords who just care about the rent and not the upkeep of the property
Migrants from every country were and are automatically given higher priority than ourselves, the NATIVE locals.
Don't get me wrong there is a lot of help for those with addiction and who are genuinely homeless in both Newcastle and Gateshead, I know people who work in the sector.
Sadly for some the lure of the durgs outweighs their desire to live a better life, and that aspect of their life isn't seen to by the authorities (its not the staff in direct contact either, they are usually good, its management).
I'm afraid migrants or no migrants, your life wouldn't be better or worse. You'd still be poor and called a scrounger/benefits fraud. Migrants play no part in why your life is good/bad. They can't even work and British people get offered hotels/houses too.
You are a gent Billy .. imagine if our government hired people like you and gave funding to men and women with both the experience of these situations and desire to help people out of them !
The drug addiction problem , including alcohol has been exacerbated by drug takers expecting society to care for and enable them ... They exhaust every path to recovery and then are enfeebled at the edge of that society ...IMHO the only way to arrest this is to have extremely tough measures at the early stage of addiction , enforced institutional lock ins , drug tests daily and enforced training for vocational work in society ...the current process is patently not fit ....extreme tough love ...
I used to go to a gym in centre of town after not going into town for a few years it was an eye opener with the homeless. Some like Kevin there you feel for and some are too far gone and grief everyone.

If the Government really wanted to do something about homelessness they could turn an empty shopping centre like that into alot of homes for all the homeless people who need them. Problem is the will isn't really there to do anything about it.
