Think about how long it would take to film a Japan video a Iceland video they seem like long projects where as low budget videos you could film 5 a week to stock pile ahead of there big videos to constantly pump out content
Jack and Ethen's punishment games for blowing their budget on trips to Japan and Iceland continues, next week, can we swim across the English Channel in a 3D printed boat.
I laughed at that too... but to be fair, I also have a one inch scar on the back of my thumb from 20 years ago when I tried to use one on a hiking trip, to open a tin of baked beans.
It's usually a tradition that space should be found for all comers at bothys. Only walk out if it's a personal decision, but bothys are not first come first served.
At least in Finland, we have rule in open wilderness huts, that there either is room for everyone, or the first one to arrive is the first to leave. Of course, reasonable thing is that, if you have been there for an hour, you don't have to leave, but then you just have to fit in. Leave backpack outside, do as much outside as possible in the weather. During season, you shouldn't count on that there is room, and always have tent as a backup. Or you can rent a hut if you want to stay longer, or be sure you have a place.
I’ve never seen a bothy so small that only 2 people can fit inside… there was plenty of room. The whole point of a bothy is the whole community aspect of mucking in together and having a laugh.
Bothies are shelters to be shared. Not hogged on a first come first serve basis. If someone turns up, the etiquette is to share not tell them where to go. They can’t be that nice if they didn’t share the public building open to all
Maybe they just wanted a mad s** session so wanted some privacy 😂 but I agree, they're for sharing, was a bit odd that they told Jack and ethan to gtf.
I must admit I was surprised that people in the bothy didn't just let you stay clear those chairs and you two would have been okay. I'm just glad it wasn't raining or really cold otherwise you could have been in real risk. In the Scottish bothies, people share all the time with no problems.
Same everywhere, very rude not to share and if the weather had been bad if I'd have told them to do one and that i was staying regardless a bothy isn't a B&B its a shelter for those in need.
I've spent over a hundred nights in various bothies including the one featured in this video. My rule is a bothy is never full. Two could have slept upstairs and the others slept downstairs.
@@WhiskyMechanic Yep completely agree if you want a quiet place to have some alone time as other commenters said pay for a glamping pod, the whole point of bothies are a shelter to sleep, to be warm and safe, a communal shelter not a private villa. this is funny here but in winter this could be serious, as someone who has slept under a basha in a wet puddle in winter in a bivvy bag (army) and had the fun experience of mild hypothermia and seen the effects of more extreme hypothermia, this could have been deadly in other circumstances.
i think the same and i would offered the space to anyone who needed shelter but Ethan and Jack probably didn't want to bother the couple with the filming of the Challenge.
"We are falling apart" hahahahaha I don't doubt that, but anyway I love seeing you guys explore the depths of despair with only some spare change. Keep up the good work!
Lately the car content here has been zero 🤷🏻♂️ It's more like a travel/adventure channel now. Still enjoying watching the videos because of who's presenting them 🙂
This has well and truely become my favourite channel on TH-cam. The content is absolute gold. The chemistry, the laughs and the mishaps all make for one seriously great viewing. Primarily my feed is just car content but this is my favourite. Absolutely top class. Keep it coming guys
Man, I love how this channel turned out...love your humour, love the outdoor stuff with a twist (aka on a budget) and would like to thank you guys for you guys adding to my weekly entertainment 😂
I love the chemistry between Ethan and Jack so much. These two and Alex truly were a Top Gear-like awesome trio. And its great to see these 2 have fun and bring their ideas to reality.
I love that you're doing literally every adventurous task that I've ever seen on TH-cam. You both must get the exact suggestions that I have over the years. What next? A straight line challenge? Train hopping? Urbex?
Within 30 seconds of the start I knew where you were (Talybont end of Y Das, why go up the hard way?!), knew where you were heading (Gwyrne Fawr Bothy), knew you'd find it full (it's one of the most popular bothys in the country thanks to being an easy walk from the other side from a car park) and knew you wouldn't know about the wild camping spot at the end of the dam (there's cover, dry ground and usually a tarp wrapped up). I grew up near there and spent many summer weekends round there on foot and mountain bike, staying in that bothy countless times. Haven't done so for years though as it is now so unbelievably popular it's hard to find it empty.
I tell you what lads, this channel is getting funnier with every video! Can’t wait for your next challenge! Speaking of which, how do you fancy spending a night in a lighthouse? I genuinely can arrange this, just let me know.
Best cheap camping food: Instant noodles - chicken or curry flavour for 25p from Asda. Or Ko-Lee branded ones for 28p from Sainsbury's. If you find some wild garlic then chuck that in.
As a former poor, I can confirm that you can spice up your spaghet with the condiments from McD's or other fast food places. It won't win any Michelin stars but it's infinitely better than pasta without sauce
Only followed yous cause you guys are involved in the car scene, but I seem to be enjoying these type of videos actually a lot more than I thought I would, love it keep it up lads
Genuinely my favourite channel at the moment, love the variety because you never know what’s going to be next…. And shows you don’t have to spent a fortune n a video for it to be enjoyed! Tip my hat to you guys best thing you could of done not making another automotive channel all though we all love cars 😂 never been one to ‘support’ channels but wear my all the gear hoodie with pride and look forward to using my new all the gear mug on my next motorcycle camping trip 🤟🏻🤟🏻 spot on lads keep it up!
This channel I quickly going up the list of my favorite channels on youtube, love these low budget challenge type videos, challenging yourself, showing how it's like, also inspiring me to try something like that because it actually seems fun. That being said, miss the car content from your previous endeavours. But all the love lads, from all 'Alex' channels this is my favorite one 😁
You guys should go to Galloway National Forrest. It's absolutely incredible. I went with my cousin a month ago, we walked 58km over 3 and a half days. Started at Clatteringshaws and walked all the way to Merrick and back. We had no plan of where to pitch a tent, no idea about parking. When we got there I asked a farmer if it's safe to leave a car for a few days and he said to leave it outside his house (what a nice guy, came to talk to us for ages when we got back too). We found a little beach on one of the lakes and camped there the whole time, in one day we walked 10 hours straight and got to Merrick and back in time to pitch the tent. I'd definitely recommend that place, its spectacular and we hardly saw people the entire time we were there.
Guys! You are using the can opener on the Leatherman completely wrong. Find a video online on how to use the P38 can opener. The can openers on the Swiss Army knives and the Leathermans work the same way.
Was hoping to sleep in that Bothy last winter during a freezing evening. Turned out some kids were in it hot boxing. Soul destroying we slept out where you were. Bloody freezing!!
its rare i actually laugh out loud when watching content these days, that is the best compliment i can give! "spaghetti dust and your drinking the yogurt like a pint" ended me...
You really did blow your entire budget on the videos in Japan 😂
I bet Iceland was nearly as expensive
that was my immediate thought lmfaoooo. At least these videos are extremely entertaining
Disagree there videos are low budget but entertaining with 1 big video/film every so often that seems like there model to me
Think about how long it would take to film a Japan video a Iceland video they seem like long projects where as low budget videos you could film 5 a week to stock pile ahead of there big videos to constantly pump out content
Also TDC spending all that money on that rotten cadillac, the fuel they used is way more than all the gear have had in a few videos 😂
Left car throttle due to a lack in budget and proceeds to use less than £100 to film the last few videos 😂😂😂
still better than aforementioned channel tho lol
🤣🤣
Goes to show it’s not about the budget, it’s the content!
Spent on it over night parts from Japan
It's because it STILL isn't even their own channel. It's Autoalex who pays for them..
Blown the budget this time guys, cost of living is real.
OSRS gang
'Collect all the loops up, like some sort of mad Sonic the hedgehog' 🤣😂🤣
Another triumph from Jack😂
such quick wit i love it
I love the budget. TDC "we spent 5k", Jack and Ethan "we get a quid"
Jack and Ethen's punishment games for blowing their budget on trips to Japan and Iceland continues, next week, can we swim across the English Channel in a 3D printed boat.
I think I would actually pay money to see that😂😂😂
3d printing isnt actually that cheap 😂doubt they can afford it
Build it out of weetabix 😂😂 I think myth busters did it and it worked for a hour
No way filament is way too expensive. Make them use recycled filament!
cardboard and ducktape
jack not knowing how to use old type can opener was hilarious 🤣
Definitely :D
First I was like: "There's no way the leatherman doesn't have a can opener"
Then I was just petrified :D
he butchered it
All the gear, but no idea
I laughed at that too... but to be fair, I also have a one inch scar on the back of my thumb from 20 years ago when I tried to use one on a hiking trip, to open a tin of baked beans.
@@goulash75 I mean, as a child I tried opening tin of tuna with my dads victorinox and I nealry cut my finger off 🤣
OMG you madmen actually did put the recipes in the description! 🤣
I assumed it was a throw away remark, but no, they actually did it.
"Method: open lid"
Lmao, I'm dying
The grind these 2 lads do to make this channel lift off. I love your effort and dedication. Keep it up, you're doing great!
I think this is another sign that the boys spent too much money on the road trips. Anyway I'm all here for it!

All the gear are the goats of budget 'Holidays'
Just the goats full stop. Best channel on TH-cam.
@@pascalharris1wow there must not be much going on in your brain if you think this is the best on TH-cam Jesus 😂😂😂
That is some Atomic Shrimpage right there
If only he'd been there to guide them on foraging. They might have been able to eat those mushrooms!
That would be the weirdest crossover ever but I'm here for it
I was not expecting to see that channel mentioned here.
The upside-down can opener was the peak
"not bringing a tin opener" as he's holding a tin opener hahah
Bothies are shelters to be shared. Not hogged on a first come first serve basis. If someone turns up, the etiquette is to share not tell them where to go. They can’t be that nice if they didn’t share the public building open to all
I've been in a bothie for 8 with 15 people in Scotland in winter.
I felt that was a bit strange also, that space up the ladder was an easy 2-3 sleeper, downstairs would likely be the same.
Maybe they just wanted a mad s** session so wanted some privacy 😂 but I agree, they're for sharing, was a bit odd that they told Jack and ethan to gtf.
Exactly what I was thinking. It not an air bnb……. Make space!
Right? They had it set up like their main residence lmao. They were probably receiving post there!
You do know the hook attachment on your knife , that you used to open the tin , is actually a tin opener ?!😂😂
watching him butcher it was painful
nailed the channel name 100%
I literally pulled out my Leatherman, extended the tin opener and said "what do you think that is?".... then watched the butchery.
This is quickly becoming my favourite channel. I get excited when a new video is posted!
OMG they actually put the recipes in the description, and they are GOLD!
I must admit I was surprised that people in the bothy didn't just let you stay clear those chairs and you two would have been okay. I'm just glad it wasn't raining or really cold otherwise you could have been in real risk. In the Scottish bothies, people share all the time with no problems.
I think their extra circular activities would have kept the boys awake.

i bet the sheep running around looked pretty tasty especially on a £1 budget lol
love that you actually put the recipes in the description. weaponised loops is good
As a pretty big car guy, I love that this channel is not only about cars.
Lately the car content here has been zero 🤷🏻♂️ It's more like a travel/adventure channel now. Still enjoying watching the videos because of who's presenting them 🙂
There has been no cat content, they weren’t real boring real fast!💨
This channel is not about cars. Did you not watch the first ever video of them explaining what the channel was about?

Lovely stuff.
Bravo to the couple for stushing you two some flapjack.
that's literally a can opener... bloody youngsters! LOL!
It was ironic though, in that situation they literally had the gear, but no idea
