- Hey Horse Lovers, I have an update regarding Prince Charming my Auction Appaloosa Horse. Over the past 12 months we have been on a long journey and a roller coaster of a ride regarding his rehabilitation. In this video I'm going to give you a recap of what we have been through over the last 12 months and our most current update as of now. I love people like this. She is willing to to spend $20k on him, and all she wants is him to be comfortable. She doesn't care if he's a riding horse, she just wants him to be happy and healthy. We need more people like Shae.

You are an absolute angel Shae. All of your fans are pulling for you and Prince Charming and we're so hopeful his condition is identified and treatable. He is so beautiful, inside and out! My husband and I are HUGE fans of yours. We no longer have horses, but we still feel like we do because of Free Spirit Equestrian, and are reliving all of our memories through you. You guys are just what Prince Charming needed in his life! Someone that will truly love and take care of him no matter what. You guys do this for all your horses and it is truly inspiring and incredible! ❤
I’m wondering how long he was lame before you got him. You can see in the old vids he was coming up short on his opposite back end. His right hip/leg. If a horse has a lameness problem or a shoulder problem, you will always get a problem on the opposite side in the back. And vice-versa. You’ve done such a great job already and your worry is no doubt there. If you come back again confused because of no real answers. Give him 6 to 12 months off. His body will naturally realign itself. I think time is what he may need the most. Unless of course they find something beyond that. You are such a gift to watch.

So sorry you are having to go through this. You have such a soft heart that I wouldn’t be surprised if you said you physically hurt when your horses hurt and it for sure hurts you emotionally. His comfort is whats most important. If he can't be pasture/companion sound, sometimes it's best to free them from their suffering. I'm sure you'll do all you can, making the best decisions for him.

Shae look into PRP injections. Your vet should be able to do them. I would recommend them as it uses his own plasma to heal what is injured inside. I personally had PRP injections done to avoid rotator cuff surgery and hip replacement and it worked!!

I’m sending prayers for you and Prince charming. I know that it’s a struggle when you don’t know what’s going on with your horse and you have done a miraculous bunch of stuff for him. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watch this video. But I did, my heart is completely broken for you Shae 😢. He was doing so good in his rehab journey. Like you said, you fix one thing and then something else rears it’s ugly head. I’m praying so hard for you guys right now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying that the MRI shows something that can be fixable. You have done wonders for him, as you mentioned, he would have gone from auction to auction if he hadn’t landed with you. When you said he wasn’t even pasture sound or could even be a companion, I was shocked. Then I cried when you showed the clips of him walking, I just couldn’t believe it 😭 Sending positives thoughts to all of you ❤️❤️❤️

He’s very lucky you bought him. Few people would go to the trouble and expense that you have. A lot of people have a lot of opinions about what you should do but they aren’t paying the bills. Do what’s best for both of you. Block anyone who spews hate.

I know what it is like to have a horse in pain, a horse you love. It's so hard. She had arthritis. Eventually she lost her ability to get up after laying down. It was heart breaking, as she looked so fit and sassy. Dont feel judged, those of us who have horses understand how hard the choices we make can be. Like you say, If you know you know

I appreciate that you show the sometimes heartbreaking reality rollercoaster of owning horses, it's not always sunshine and fun times. He's not even my horse but I really feel how painful this must be for you. You've done way more already than most people would, I'm glad you're doing the right things for this sweet beautiful boy and will do whatever is best for him. The past year has probably been the best year he's ever had, because you showed him what real love and care looks like, you can tell despite his pain, he is content and grateful, he knows he's in great hands.
I really hope something can be done for him, but if not you did absolutely everything you could. I know you don't want to make one yet, but after his tests, if you find out something can be done, if it's costly like surgery, there's no shame in making a gofundme, you've already spent so much and if there's a chance he could recover, I'm sure people would want to help. Of course it's your choice, I'll keep him in my thoughts and pray it's nothing sinister. Don't forget to look after yourself too, I'll be eagerly awaiting the next update, hoping for good news.

Prince Charming is a doll & has the cutest pink nose ever. Smooches & cuddles. I hear your frustration & commend you on giving him such impeccable care. Just found you. Binge watched many vids. The journey with Prince Charming was hard to watch. So very sad to lose such a beautiful friend. And then, I watched the story of Belle. What an incredible gift you received without knowing. It seems God is blessing you for your incredible caring for Prince Charming. Can't wait!

Prince Charming not being even Pasture sound ATM is a huge blow. You must be gutted. Awful seeing our babies in pain. Amazing how willing he is to try to please despite limping to do so. He's such a wonderful horse🥰🐎 we must all get praying and believing the vet will have the answers and he will soon be fit as a flea.

No matter what prince charming knows he is loved and valued for who he is. You have given him the amazing gift of a second chance.
When doctors do not have the answers, before I would spend money on a MRI, I would seek out am equine psychic medical intuitive. You will get the answers from the horses mouth, literally, and save $2k. While I so very appreciate what you have done for Prince here, my bet is on the alternative medical medium. My neighbor went through a very similar situation with her Thoroughbred show horse and the doctors big solution were nerve blocks. Never really found anything conclusive. I pray you find the answers you are seeking and blessings to you and Prince! ❤
Sometimes decisions can be hard. I watch Horse Plus and what they do for horses that are being sent to the slaughter pipeline and it is heartbreaking when you think that owners have put horses in the auction for a few dollars instead of doing what is the humane thing to do. Whatever the prognosis, whatever the outcome, you are being true to yourself with the knowledge that you have done all that you could for Prince Charming. You have done so much for him so far and I am sure he knows it with his horsey sense. Fingers crossed he can be happy being a pasture pet. ♥

Somewhere, sometime in his past, prior to him coming to live with you, he may have had an injury to his foot within the hoof which affected his leg all the way up into his shoulder. The original injury has caused the many issues you've been dealing with, and once you cleared those up, the original cause remains. Since the true cause has been so elusive, I'm thinking nerve injury because that is difficult to locate and diagnose. I suggest discussing nerve blocks with your vets. Start low, see how that works, then go up until the block doesn't work, that might help locate the injury point. I'm NOT a veterinarian, this suggestion is from my personal experience with horses. If nerve blocks relieve pain and help him, then that may be all you can do for him at this point. Good luck and best wishes.

I know how hard it is to let you horse go. I’ve lost my horse from my profile picture 6 years ago and I still miss her to this day. She was like a grandma to me, she looked after me, comfort me, made me laugh and helped me with my depression. they aren’t just a horse, they are family; but their comfort comes first. I hope it won’t come to this yet, so like you said: hope for the best❤️

I have had a lot of elderly sore/ lame horses. I found adding apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup and magnesium salt a tablespoon to water did them a whole lot of good with honey in water in a 5 gallon bucket. You'll see a difference in few weeks if going to work. Went from hardly able to walk to cantering out in field, back to rideable in few months time on younger ones. So hard to diagnose what is hurting them and exactly where. Best wishes for success in a answer to his problems.
I felt so sad when I saw your horse move. He is really sore. Not sure if he has nerve damage. I always wonder about horses used for cutting cattle. It seems they are ridden too hard by people who are too large and I think it is a matter of time before they go lame.
Hope your horsey heals, finds comfort and it is something that can be cured.

My mare had aspiration pneumonia. I spent 20,000 getting her better. She's permanently retired. She has scar tissue on her lungs and I won't be able to show her anymore, but that ok. I have my girl.

Ms Shae, you can do this. I know that it is scary but your vet wouldn’t recommend Ohio state if she didn’t feel right for P.C. I say do it. You just may get the best answer for him. You are his mama. He knows you are worried. It is ok!
