  • Four of RETURNAL's six biomes feature what I call "Think Fast!" situations. (The Crimson Wastes and the Fractured Wastes lack these tiles.) As seen in the opening seconds of this clip, these situations are marked with bright green lights and involve the level shifting before the player's eyes. I've dubbed these "Think Fast!" because the player has only the briefest of moments to spring into action, committing to one path for one reward.
    But what if the player doesn't have to choose at all? What if, with skill and practice, the player can obtain all the rewards offered? Such is the case with several of these tiles, and the three that can be found in the Abyssal Scar number among them.
    This particular "Think Fast!" tile requires the player to not only act quickly, but to also collect the rewards offered in a particular order. The required order is pictured below, where "P" is the player's starting location, the numeral denotes the order one must collect the items in, and the letter indicates "A" for Above and "B" for Below:
    XB XA
    P===========
    1A 2A
    XB XB
    Where no numeral is provided and an 'X' is listed instead, the item(s) can be collected in any order. Should the player wish to collect all the items as quickly as possible, however, I recommend duplicating the order of collection I use in this clip:
    5B 6A
    P===========
    1A 2A
    4B 3B

    You know I haven't noticed you DMJ on any of your vids. Thoughts?

      You've a keen eye! To date, I have not used DMJ. While I cannot discount the possibility of DMJ appearing in future recordings, I do not anticipate it.
