RETURNAL | R_A.0783 Abyssal Scar Containment Room [Spitmaw Blaster + Melee] (HDR) NO DAMAGE

  • Coming back to RETURNAL after a multi-month absence, I was a little flustered: the Abyssal Scar hosts hostiles unlike those found in any other biome. As a consequence, it was vital that I tinker and toy with them, refreshing myself on their movesets and attacks. This is demonstrated most clearly in Rounds I and II when I slay both Anomos and an Abyssal Machina with the Atropian Blade, as well as in Round III, when I take to tormenting the Abyssal Archonact and Typhonops I face, casually dodging the attacks intended for me as I patiently line up another set of melee kills. All told, this is a fun clip-it's compact and intense, and highlights a side of me seldom seen in the footage I share: a sense of playfulness and whimsy.
    The Returnal Archive is back to celebrate RETURNAL's third birthday! Between now and April 30, a series of fresh clips shall be shared. On April 30, and weekly thereafter through June 4, a set of all-new, full-biome runs will be shared.

    Safe to say that if it was someother weapon, it would have been another 30-40 secs clip, shitmaw blaster is meh

      The Spitmaw Blaster is far from RETURNAL's best weapon, but it certainly numbers among my favourites-especially when it has both Explosive Spit and Slug Shot! Had I been rushing to clear this Containment Room (rather than playing around with melee attacks against hostiles on the z-axis and re-learning the attacks in Rounds II and III), I suspect I could have lifted the lockdown in about sixty seconds.
