    Has the low rpm 'jerky-ness' and jumpy torque curve been fixed with the stock PCV map? Also, does the bike run cooler? (I notice these bikes run lean and does run a little warm) lastly, are you using the over-rev feature to run to 11k rpm?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dubz C: since adding my PCV (along with opening my air box and removing the muffler), I have noticed a bit of smoothing out of the throttle response and power delivery. I opened up the map on my laptop and looked at what they changed, it looks like they added some fuel from about 50% throttle and higher across the RPM range. So maybe it's a just from the combination of things I have done to the bike, I'm not sure, but their MAP/tune doesn't look like it was intended to address any of the idle or lower rpm issues.

      Also: I haven't used the rev-extender feature to raise the redline cutoff yet. I've been saving up for an exhaust and better air filter first. :-)

    In your intro did you have the turn signal under the rear fender right next to the tail light?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In that particular intro the bike was still completely stock. However, later on I did modify the stock fender and made it into a tail-tidy. I made a video about it showing how I did it:

    hello,I recently bought a duke 390 and i am also planning to install the power commander,should you recommend to change air filter and exhaust to, or is that not necessary?(sorry for my poor english!)Thanks

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Congratulations on your new bike, Eric! No, it is not necessary to change your air filter or exhaust once you install the Power Commander. It will come with a Map, or tune, already installed that is intended for a motorcycle with no modifications. So it will be ready for your motorcycle straight out of the packaging. If you do change your air filter and / or exhaust later, there are other tunes that you can download for free from their website to take advantage of the increased air flow. There are also some other websites that sell tunes for off-road / track use that can further increase the power numbers. If you have any other questions, please ask! I'll help in any way I can.

    Apologies if this has been asked already. Did you notice if the commander gave you a lower engine temp? Thx

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bike overall seems to be running better than it was in the beginning. The fan seems to be turning on less often than it used to, but other than that I don't really know how much cooler the bike is running.

  • @yue1507

    Sincerely ask
    Power Commander V have better air-fuel ratio.
    Do you think this helps reduce engine temperature?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes - the Power Commander V gives us the ability to add more fuel throughout the RPM range to fix the issue of the bike running lean from the factory, which helps it to run cooler.

      Doo eeeeet! ;-)
      It's actually a really good first mod. As you mod other things like the spark plug/exhaust/intake, it gives you the ability to retune the fuel and spark timing at each step to really take advantage of the mods!

    You think that is a good idea on 125 installing one of these? and they don't give any problem to engine right?

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These really are meant to be bike specific, so if you're wanting to install one I'd really recommend getting one meant for your bike. If they don't make one for your bike, maybe ask a local shop if they know of one that could still work on your bike.
      Also: these piggyback ECU's don't inherently harm the engine, but the wrong tune can cause some issues. See if you can find an off-the-rack tune for your bike -or- maybe get a shop to dyno tune the bike using the PCV you install. I hope that helps!

    My 2020 rc390 with 20 miles really hates hill starts. Always stalls out, I tend to live in a hilly area and I can’t even fully stop at stop signs or the bike will stall at a stop and go only on steep hills. Will this help? I heard it runs lean stock is that true? It’s kinda dangerous not fully stopping at stop signs on uphill slopes.

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know, when I first got mine it also seemed to stall sometimes. It had 0 on the odometer. There were a couple of times I'd pull in the clutch to coast to a stop or maybe to make a tight turn- and the engine just stalled out. The random stalls seemed to go away after the first 100 miles (160km), and I haven't had them since.

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A tip for starting uphill is to practice finding the "friction zone" of the clutch. If you can, practice in a parking lot or somewhere flat and level. Just slowly release the clutch while in first gear until you start to feel the bike begin to move forward. You can also play around with feathering the throttle to see how the throttle assists your take-off. As you learn where in the clutch position your bike starts to move, you'll get more confidence when starting from a stop.

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, and lastly: the increased power from the Power Commander (along with exhaust/intake mods and a tune) will absolutely make it easier to start from a stop up hill! Hope that helps, bud!

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not with the 2 MAP's that Dynojet gives you. Both are pretty safe. However, be careful when tuning it yourself or with some of the other tunes out there: especially when increasing the rev limiter. Pushing the limits too far can have some consequences...

    • @FaerodynMoto
      @FaerodynMoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have access to a dyno tune, so I have no way of knowing for sure. However, Dunojet claims that is adds 2-3 horsepower without any other mods. For a bike that weighs only 328lbs, that is a noticeable increase. Plus: I opened my air filter box and removed the muffler on the exhaust.
