      Absolutely! One great benefit of my All Access Membership is that you get a whole course with Joe and I... it could be well worth the cost of the membership alone--but you get it plus tons of extra content, too! improve.topspeedgolf.com/get-access/

    Couldn't be better timing for this video. I just had a lesson today and my hips are killing my swing. Years of weight lifting and not too much stretching have taken their toll. I cannot sit straight up on the 90/90. I will work on these for sure. Unlocking my hips will most definitely provide more consistency and no doubt more yardage as a result. Thank you both.

    Clay this is an excellent video for me. Seven years ago I had all the L vertebrae fused. Seventeen months ago I had all the T or middle vertebrae fused. Almost six months ago I had most of my neck vertebrae fused. Yep a very messed up spine due to football in highschool and then I think over swinging when I took up golf 39 years ago. I am just about to be released to do therapy after the neck surgery. I will show my therapist this video to see if I can incorporate into my routine. I used to be a 4 handicap and could hit a nice tee ball. Hope to get back to playing. Thanks for all you do. Bill.

      Since the majority of the spine is fused. Making sure the hips are moving well is going to be key! I've had many clients where we had to go that route but of course, consult with your therapist 😃

    Really easy to overlook this type of thing. And it explains a good deal of back issues. I need to commit to stretchng more than I currently do.

    Once again you've got impeccable timing Clay. Was at the range working specifically on hip rotation, then came home and saw this video, it both reinforced what I was doing and helped me further isolate the hip movements. Game changer!

      @@joetherapy The bigger turn loading, I have this bad habit of picking my front heel up instead of rotating fully.

    I’m a decent player and can move it out there pretty good. I exercise regularly. I find it strange that I can’t even come close to doing that sit down stretch in the video to check the hips. I use my hips efficiently in my swing so what gives? Does Joe or anyone else have an answer for this? Thanks

    • @joetherapy
      @joetherapy ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Nelson! There are a bunch of factors that could impact that hip stretch. Here are a couple
      1. You're a good player and your body figures it out. I've had professional athletes who are at the top of their games and fail range of motion assessments. The reason is that they are so talented that their body figures out a way to get the task done.
      2. The hips are flexed more in the 90/90 Hip Stretch. When you set up to the ball, you hinge at the hips but you're not going to be that bent over (hips flexed).
      I hope that helps!

    I had my right hip replaced a few years ago …
    Should I stretch this prosthetic hip? 🤷🏼‍♂️
    I have not even done a squat since my hip surgury for fear of doing something wrong. So I just swing my golf club the best I can, but this is always on my mind.

    • @joetherapy
      @joetherapy ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely consult your physician but slowly performing movements that you want to do should be important. If you can slowly start performing versions of things like squats and the golf swing. It'll be good for your body but also give you the confidence to perform those movements without the thought of getting hurt.
