Glamour Health Update #3

- A couple of weeks ago I got back from a business trip and Todd told me that Glamour’s back was not happy. We went to the vet and they said it was inflamed and had the beginnings of arthritis. They said they didn’t think she needed the Solencia shots yet and gave her some pain meds and a steroid. That seemed to help but a couple of days ago she seemed to start having trouble. She would not even try jumping up on the couch or her favorite chair. I built some steps for her so she could get to her favorite places. We went back to the vet and he said while the x-rays didn’t show arthritis she was having trouble so we are starting the Solencia shots. We will try that for 30 days and if that is working we will continue with the monthly injections and if not we will look into alternate treatments. Our goal is to make her as happy and comfortable as we can.
Todd is a 7-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 56 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”. If you would like to see more of Todd and his day-to-day life please visit his Facebook page.

I want to thank everyone for their comments. I have tried to reply to everyone, but I can no longer keep up between 300-500 comments per video. I will continue to read all comments and respond to questions. I hope you all understand, I appreciate you and am glad you are here!
Time to teach Todd how to respond to comments, LOL!!!
Your numbers have bloomed profusely because you all have captured our hearts, while we learn with our minds. :)
Thank you, Dad for the update, we were all anxious to hear the news. And it looks promising that a treatment plan is in place and that sassy Glamour is cooperating
It is completely understandable that between your day job and Cat Dad job, that you don’t have time to respond to every post! We want you to have the time to keep us up to date on the kitties! Keep up the good work!😸
The automatic captions did a decent job I think!
Of course we understand. Thank you for taking good care of all your kitties
In the spirit of what we're learning here, about the intelligence and language capability of cats, here's another channel that enlightens us about the intelligence and social engagement of a turtle with his beloved soft, furry cat-friend. He adores his cat, and he also rides a tiny skateboard and handles it like a pro, turning on a dime to keep up with his fast-moving cat. It's amazing, much in the same spirit as this channel of Todd's. th-cam.com/users/shorts0tsho2u0ISo?si=uCXpwDvn67tdR_nS Highly recommended channel. Who would have guessed that turtles were as socially involved with their hearts as we see at that channel? I wouldn't have guessed it, and I grew up with a very large (wild, native) Sonoran Desert tortoise that adopted our backyard throughout my youth.
Todd was such a good boy for telling you how Glamour was feeling! I hope Glamour feels better soon, you’re a good cat dad!
I hope Glamour feels better soon. She’s such a precious girl. I challenge any cat “expert” to watch that last video and say cats aren’t actually communicating when they use those buttons.
Agreed and thank you
Yeah, cats absolutely do NOT use buttons exclusively for selfish ("treat") reasons.
Todd is amazingly clever for letting you know Glamour had hurt her back👋 Such a Good Boy. Hope Glamour feels better soon ❤
Thank you
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks Thank you for your great videos. Love to all your beautiful cats🧡
get well fast hunny buns! 😽😽🐈🐆
Yay, Dad help Glamour back happy. 😸
😊
As a physician (not a vet) I can tell you that x rays never tell you as much as a… cat scan…. 🐾
Never mind, I’ll see my way out…
😆
Please do! lol my PCP has a great sense of humor, too
Ba dum tiss . . .
Indeed, Todd has scanned glamour and reported his findings that glamour has back ouch😂
@@kathleencarr9337 I think Todd would treat Glamour himself were he not limited by vocabulary and lack of opposable thumbs.
Hope Glamour responds well to the new treatment. It's so wonderful that Todd is there to interpret for her and help you know when she needs additional help.
Which proves that Todd can communicate with his buttons! x
Solensia may take a couple months/doses to kick in. I waited a full three months before taking my cat off Solensia, just to find out that taking her off the Solensia revealed her pain had gotten WORSE in those couple of months. Back on the Solensia she went! That and daily doses of gapapentin is doing the trick. Good luck to you and to Glamour. I hope she feels better soon.
I have heard that red light therapy can reduce arthritis pain in cats too! This is something many vets provide now
@@lisa2000geese For what it's worth, I had that red laser/light therapy used on me following knee surgery at physical therapy some years ago and I found some success with it, so I'll go ahead and second this that it might be useful should the medicine not be. Just an extra tool in the toolbelt.
Glamour looks so precious in her basket. As someone who has chronic back issues, I so hope she gets relief from her back pain soon. Thanks for the update.
Thank you and I hope you get relief as well
That basket is perfect for a cat loaf, which is often the most comfortable position for a sick kitty.
Aw… get better soon, Glamour. It’s good that you have Todd to tell dad when you hurt!
Thank you
Glamour riding in her basket like a fine lady in a sedan chair :-) I hope she is feeling better very soon. Judging by the comments she has a pretty solid fan base for a non button cat. Todd is delightful and amazing but she does have star quality herself :-)
Thank you
Thank you Dad and Todd and the vet. Much cuddles for Glamour❤❤❤
😊
Glamour thanks her fans and said “don’t touch me!”
Awww the queen is carried by her litter-bearer😂.
She's talkative too, in kitty talk. Im in love with these felines, and absolutely fascinated by Todd's ability to convey concern for his homie❤❤❤
Thank you
Poor Glamour. I am glad Todd is looking out for her. I hope she is pain free soon.
Thank you
I adore Glamour! So nice to hear her purring
Yes it was 😊
It's really great that Todd is able to communicate Glamour's feelings to you and cares about Glamour's well being.
Yes, I am amazed b it.
A big thank you goes to Todd he is her guardian angel. ♥️❤️🥰😘😻🙏✝️
Yes indeed
I hope her new treatment works. Todd is a good assistant and will surely inform you about her later on. You're such a good dad for these fluffy babies.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for the fast update. She is beautiful…you’re a good cat daddy.
Aww baby girl she does look a little unsteady. Shes very lucky to have you as a Dad. Fingers crossed to recovery and comfort!
Purrs to Glamour ❤🐾🐾
Purrs to Todd ❤ 🐾🐾
and Purrs to Dad ❤️ too 😺😺😺
My beautiful black female cat recently passed away. She was 17 years old. She was diagnosed with a growth in her abdomen. I had her til the end and gave her CBD oil every day. I think it extended her life and also helped with the pain.
❤
Did you tell Todd? Please give him a timeframe because Cats have a great sense of time.
Well, she seems determined to be active, and that's a good sign.
Yes, she has always done what she wants
Thanks for sharing Glamour's update - I'm glad to hear nothing has gotten worse and that there is a treament available that may help her feel better. Cat steps are a great idea, I'm sure she will appreciate the easier access to her favorite spots. Love to Glamour and Todd and all the family and best wishes!
Thank you, Todd for letting dad know Glamour needs medical help. 😻
Hope it works and she can move around as she pleases again! Thank you for keeping us updated! ❤❤❤
Poor Glamour, hope she gets some relief from the new meds. Todd will keep an eye on her too. ❤
Thank you
I could only hope to have such a perceptive and wise companion as Todd. I can picture him using his words to ask the nurse to give dad meds for his ouch foot, or whatever (dad's health needs might be). If I ever can't communicate my needs, I want a Todd in my life!
Poor Glamour. Old age catches up with all of us, but cats tend to act like nothing's wrong until it's very wrong. So if she's avoiding doing things she'd normally do, she must be in a lot of pain.
Todd is priceless and earns his treats!!
Hope glamour feels better! Keep us posted. I’m for sure Todd will let us know too. Hoping for speedy recovery.
Wishing Glamour a return to comfort very soon! She has a wonderful Dad and brother in Todd, let us hope Todd tells you that she's "back happy" very soon!
I hope so too!
Thank you for Glamour’s update. So sorry she is still bothered by back pain and that it has progressed to the Solensia, but, hopefully this will do the trick for her and she’ll start feeling good with a happy back again. She’s such a beautiful little girl!
I had a female kitty, a black cat called Salem who managed to damage a nerve in her lower back at some point. Apparently, she must have fallen while I was at work one day, but I didn’t notice anything amiss until she started limping a little bit. They did X-rays at my vet’s and couldn’t see anything. Then she started having the pain spasms! She ended up having to undergo a series of shots in some muscles in her back, so I had to take her each week because they had to give the shot. It really helped, but she was always able to jump up on the coffee table and the couch. I never knew how she came to hurt herself. I don’t know to this day. Salem was always a climber, though, and liked to be up high. She would stretch out across the top of the door of my half-bath, go sailing down on to the counter then on to the commode, so I was careful always to keep that lid shut. LOL! Anyway, here is hoping and praying for sweet Glamour’s complete recovery.
Please give our darling Todd a lot of extra scritches, cuddles and treats for being such a loving, caring boy.
Maybe that was why she hit Dr. Todd. If cats have pain, they get nasty to everybody, or at least, can.
I hope she gets better, but Dr. Todd and you will have an eye on her ;-)
I think Dad said Glamour has always been spicy
She looks so cute in her basket!
Thank you 😊
I know how rough it can be when they get sick. I'm glad Todd was able to let you know. He's a good cat brother.
Yes, he is 😊
Thank you for the update. Glamor is such a pretty girl. You are a loving daddy. ❤❤❤
I have high hopes that the Solensia injection will help Glamour. My 14 year-old fur baby has been receiving Solensia every month, since August, for the rest of his life, but not for Arthritis--he was diagnosed with Stomatitis and this injection controls his pain, even after having the majority of his teeth extracted. Funny thing is, 24-36 hours after receiving the injection, he seems to feel great, is super happy, running around and wanting to play. So, I hope glamour will benefit as well!
Get well soon Glamour you sweet beautiful girl.
Thank you for the update! Light & love to Glamour. ❤️
My kitty was getting those shots for about a year. From the first shot, she was able to move around and climb better, but started rapidly losing muscle tone in her leg until I had to stop the shots. My previous kitty went on Cosequin for cats and that was a much better result. She felt better and did not lose muscle tone. I wish I had used that for this kitty but the vet said that the shot worked better than the cosequin and never told me what would happen to her muscles until after it was too late. I hope your kitty does better. Thank goodness Todd is able to communicate this to you. All the kitties are so cute. Love the videos. ♥
Thank you
Aww I wish Glamour the best of health. Thank you for the update. I'm so glad Todd could give you the warning. My new favourites on YT❤
It's so sweet how Todd is concerned for her. Solencia did wonders for my super senior cat. She was indeed able to jump on the bed again until the end of her life.
I just watched all your videos that related to Glamour, to check how everything turned out! I'm pretty blown away Todd used the buttons so well!!
I really wanted to get buttons for my senior cat we adopted a few years back, he was abnormally smart And was very good at communicating. I taight him all kinds of signals to tell me what he wanted (like coming up to just barely nible me with his lips, not teeth, to signal his wet food was out, how to tell me to raide the blinds, ect), literally would try to meow out syllables and matched pitch for 3 words!
It is quite clear to pepol that non of thise cats lack anything and is extreamly well taken care of
Thank you
Poor Glamour. "Old Arthur" can be a real bugbear.
I’m not going to lie - I was really dubious about Todd and his communicating, but the fact that he told you that Glamour’s back was hurting her makes it pretty difficult to question now.
Todd is definitely stands out in his desire to understand and communicate with human words. I have a feeling it is unusual in cats :) he is giving us a greater understanding on what cats are capable of!
Hi I'm relatively new to this channel. I have 9 rescues and with many comes health challenges. I used to only go to the vets with every problem but after spending close to $700 on one vet bill and not resolving the issue, I turned to the homeopathic community. What I've learned has been life saving for the kitties, and pocket book but most importantly for their comfort. All of my kitties are on multiple supplements (vetsmart, and many bark & wiskers products as well as L-lysine). As I have a couple large rescued pups, I cook for them and include a lot of supplements and natural products as well. After losing my best friend to cancer and my savings account to treatments, I found out that simple home remedies ginger and honey was far more effective at controlling nausea and vomiting than the serenia injections he was getting I dug deeper. Omega 3, and magnesium with vit b 6 has turned my 11 yr old great pyrenees into a puppy again- no pain he's totally off gabapentin and pain meds. So my point?? Perhaps there's a much better solution for Glamour in the homeopathic area. Don't get me wrong good supplements are not cheap, however, they prevent vet vists and keep my fur babies very happy and healthy. I hope and pray Glamour feels better soon.
Glamour has a wonderful family (Dad, Mom, Todd and Paulie), she's loved and well cared. Thank you so much for the update.
Much love to Glamour, and Todd of course for being a great tattle tail
The injections they give cats make me think I’d prefer to go to the vet than the GP. I hope Glamour is more comfortable soon.
Aww glamour in a basket!
So i Hope that the medication will work. I have a old cat as well. Love him so much. Thx Todd for help Glamour. Cuddles for all cats. Greetings from Germany
Thank you
You’re a good cat dad. ❤
Thanks for the update. Hope she'll soon feel better again😻
Thank you for the update! You are such a great cat dad. I hope the shots work for her. My kitty had arthritis and used to get acupuncture for it. I know it sounds weird, but it seemed to help when nothing else did. Sending good health wishes to you and all your family, human and feline.
Doesn’t sound weird at all. I had a dog that I took to a veterinarian who also did chiropractic work and that definitely helped him!
Hank you for sharing!
Get well sooner, Glamour!
Todd is so smart. He used the words you taught him to talk about Glamor 's hurting. Hope she feels better with the treatment. ❤
Thank you
everyone LIKE 👍 COMMENT & SHARE, let’s get Todd -Glamour & Paulie going Viral ❤
Haha Glamour's like excuse me Dad, my basket belongs on the desk, not the floor lol.
A lovely family all round, cats and humans. Todd is observant, caring and of course, smart
Beautiful Glamour please feel better. We love you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Will do. Thank you!
Our 16 1/2 yr old female cat, Belle, is on solensia too. It helped her a lot in the beginning. Now it does help but not always. Belle is a big girl like Glamour and I know weight doesn’t help. Like you said, we just want them comfortable.
Thank you for updating us about sweet Glamour!
She is truly a wonderful little lady and deserves only the best, and I'm glad that she lives with you and your family and the cats, because you are doing everything for her! Lots of love and caring hugs to you all from Elin in Sweden ❤
I am so sure I am speaking for all of your subscribers that we had no doubt and still have no doubt that you will give Glamour whatever she needs to be well and happy. Todd is amazing!! I am sending hugs love and healing energy and thoughts to Glamour and to Todd I am sending love and hugs. And to you Todd and Glamour hooman’s prayers love and hugs that all turns out well.😻😻😻😻
Sending prayers for precious Glamour's complete recovery and love to the whole cat family. 💕💕💕
Get well soon sweet kitty.
I had spelled Glamour wrong and corrected the name. This was before. ❤ all of your cats. Thank you for keeping us updated on Glamour. My ❤ goes out to her dealing with pain.
My senior cat Mi Sun developed arthritis. It took her a while to realize their some jumps and climbs she ought not to do.(Rather like some humans) If she didn't overexert she was OK. I got a set of stairs and a couple of low footstools so she could get to her favorite spots more easily.. Hope Glamour feels better soon.
I have a senior cat with arthritis and a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement has worked wonders. I could tell a slight difference the first day, but a few days later her movements were much quicker and springier.
Years ago, the supplement worked well for my senior dog too.
Hope Glamour gets the relief she deserves! Yay Todd for telling you!
Love the videos....keep 'em coming!😊
She's beautiful. I hope the shot is working.
Glamour Ouch Happy Mousey Now
❤ Todd is amazing. I hope Glamour feels better soon.
Thank you
Feel better soon Beautiful Glamour. ❣️
Thank you for the update! Amazing cats you have! You treat them so nice and good! I have had some cats and they are so intelliget! I will prey for Glamour and give Todd and your ather cat a pet from me! 🙏💕💕
My cat is getting the Selensia shot monthly and has shown improvement. Good luck!
I bought a heated pad for Delilah when she was having joint issues, she loved it!
Get well soon Glamour. We all love you ❤
Thank you so much for the update. You really are a good steward.
Just a suggestion, if the shots don't work well, you might find a vet that does acupuncture and/or chiropractic. (There is a vet on youtube who does chiropractic, I think he is in NY). I had a dog who at age 5 went lame in both hind legs. This was before doggy wheelchairs. Vets diagnosed him with two bad knees, one worse than the other. I was afraid I'd have to put him down if we couldn't find a solution. He was considered "too old" for knee surgery. We tried pain meds and they worked enough he could stand and go potty, and walk around the house, but not well enough for him to go on walks, or run and play. I finally thought about acupuncture and found a vet who did acupuncture near me. First treatment, he was slightly better, second treatment his better leg he could use well but still limping on the worse leg, 3rd treatment, he was walking fine. I still took him over the next year for a tune up, I think it was another 3 visits or so, but none after that. He lived to be 17. As he got older that injury came back a bit, but never as bad as it had been that one time, and he lived a long happy life.
Glamour certainly deserves her name. Our cat is pushing 20 and seems to have some issues when lying down, so have a call into the vet. She’s also showing some signs of dementia, which animals can also develop. Hard to watch. Hope Glamour feels better soon.
Wow smart cat
Thank you Dad for being such a caring cat Dad!
You are so kind
I hope she'll recover quickly! She's so adorable, just like Todd. I don't see so much of Paulie, but I'm sure he is too. 💜💜💜
They are all sweet kitties
Good job, Todd! You're such a great brother. Feel better soon Glamour!
Thanks so much
Dr. Todd!
Lookin out for his sweetheart, Glamour.
😊
I had to make stairs for my older cats, to get up onto furniture, when they got older and couldn’t jump up like they used to. They do get arthritis and it makes it harder for them to get around. I tried to help them out any way I could.
Thanks for the update. Todd is simply amazing...
Thank you
Every kitty deserves a dad like you!!
I'm still blown away by Todd alerting you to Glamour and her back. He's such an incredible, thoughtful and loving brother. I'm so thankful Glamour has the best dad who takes such great care of her. I really hope this new medication does the trick and provides Glamour with the relief she needs. Please send her my love and lots of pets, only with her permission of course. 😄 ❤
Todd is a wonder. Feel better, Glamour.
I love how Glamour walks across the board without touching a single button… 😂
I hope she's better soon. It's hard when they start getting older and having health problems.
Oh good glad she is good-noticed how she didn't hit any buttons walking on it, so when she did hit bye, she meant it lol Happy to gear the update ❤❤
Thank you
Todd is such a smart boy and obviously loves and worries about Glamour. Thank you for sharing him with us. I will keep Glamour in my thoughts and prayers. ❤❤
I'm sure you have already exhausted the joint supplement treats .. but my cat gets a few a day and it's made a world of difference!
Wishing you all the best for your sweet furry babies 💕🍀 💕🐈🐈🐈
Thank you so much!
Todd is amazing to keep you updated on Glamor's back. It's hard as they get older, and the arthritis kicks in. Wishing Glamor a speedy recovery, and I'm sure Todd will keep you informed about Glamor. Healing prayers to all of you.
