this hits hard as yesterday was everyones last match online (including me)...yesterday Halo Reach's online servers on the xbox 360 shut down forever...12 years of Reach. NEVER FORGET
It’s really a sad sight seeing your guy being the only one seemingly left alive on reach, trying everything to stop your inevitable demise while being surrounded by never ending covenant forces. Noble 6 was one hell of a fighter though, never giving into the odds against him.
Dude I can't explain to myself while I'm bawling to this game how it made me feel. I was beginning to have symptoms of schizophrenia (mental illness) when this game came out. Taught me to never quit even though the voices had taken over. Seriously, hats off to Bungie
It didn't take long for reach to fall, our enemy was ruthless, efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you have already past the torch, and because of you we found Halo, unlocked it's secrets, shattered our enemies resolve. Our victory, your victory, was soo close, I wish you could've lived to see it. But you belong to Reach, your body, you armor, all burned and turn to glass, everything except your courage, that you gave to us, and with it, we can rebuild.
me and my best friend/adopted brother started played halo reach for the first time a couple years ago, he had to move away before we got to finish it. i didn’t touch the game for 2 years in hopes of him coming back so we could finish, 2 years later he moved back and we were able to finish and it was one of the most simple but special moments for both of us. he passed away a month ago and i will never have a game or cutscene that holds a place this special in my heart as much as this one
I wish your brother a peaceful rest. That's a good memory. I lost my younger sister a few years ago and Halo 2 was our jam. I still have yet to play it. I will soon. Reach was sooo sick! Freakin Noble 6 man. ❤
0:35 I will never forget me and my brother going through all the halo games and how excited we both were for each one, but when we got to Reach our hearts sank man!
Twenty years after the Covenant War, a lone Spartan journeys across the fields of Reach. Not many of these greenhorn Marines recognize him, but they can tell: This is an old veteran. A warrior. That much is told by the nicks and dinks on their armor and weapon: a well-worn, tried and true sniper rifle. No one comments about the Warthog they took when the Spartan went searching in the wastes. And no one comments about the Warthog being returned two days later, with nothing new on it. The Spartan says nothing and continues on their way. As they stepped aboard their requested Pelican, Jun took out the helmet that he had found. Mark 6. Gold visor. It was Noble 6's, all right. The body was nowhere to be found. Jun assumed Six had survived, naturally. Hyper-lethal Spartans were a breed above.
Always remember days getting home from school then going on Halo with the squad, we still do it now on Infinite definitely makes me feel old even though I'm 22
Still so fucking pissed off at myself for missing the last few days of the halo 3 and halo reach servers. I played them for hundreds of hours as a kid, still have the games to this day, but i didn’t know about it till it was too late
It all started with reach, bungie did an amazing job at a prequel which most games can’t. It all started with noble six and reach which eventually would lead to the end of war, gives me tingles every-time I watch this
It didnt take long for Reach to fall, they were ruthless, efficient, *but they weren’t nearly fast enough.* For you have already passed the torch . This game defined what the rest of the series was. The story was arguably the best and the most human out of all the stories. First time you got to see spartan faces and got to see what these spartans were really like. It really was a masterpiece from bungie. Haven’t made anything close to it since. Same with 343
I remember when I was five playing this whole series for the first time not being able to wait to play the next my dad bought me for Christmas being able to play split screen with him. The morning that I got this game I put it in started it up my dad was first and I was second cause I was five I didn’t really understand we just played that game all day and we got to the end and the cutscene leading up to lone wolf was just so sad and you knew it would be hell but you thought that six would be fine because starts never die until it ended and the objective read survive and seeing all the dead Spartans it was a gut punch you knew it was done for six and then I didn’t think much of his death or the game cause I was little until now and it’s really ironic how all the team members die Carter the leader goes down with the ship and crashes into a scarab Kat the brains doesn’t put on her shields a fatal mistake that would lead to her death Emile cqc got stabbed in the back from close range and took the elite with him Jorge the big careful giant went down first thinking he just saved reach and all who inhabit it And final Noble six the lone wolf headhunter the slayer or millions of covenant and terrorists alike went down fighting alone Remember Reach
Something people never say, is that the music fights just as much as Noble 6. Always switching from some glorious swan song, to the depressing last moments of life. A struggle between both trying to overcome the other. Till eventually, death wins when it's all said and done.
"Our victory, your victory, was so close. I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor, all burned and turned to glass." So 6 is in fact canonically dead, and for some reason fans want to say he survived.
Griffin Long yeah it would be better for him to be dead going out taking on those elites tanking hits and I love the part where he hits the golden elite from the back so cool
"For you had already passed the torch, and because of you, we found Halo. Unlocked it secrets, shattered our enemies resolve." Crazy that a simple delivery mission during the fall of the strongest fortress colony would lead to the end of the war and the baptism of the most legendary soldier in the UNSC military history.
its just sad to see one of the spartens get torn to shreds by 3 guys like dawg thats just sad i get we wouldve died anyways but still i would like an alternate ending
ita crazy that the cutscene skip 37 years in the future and planet reach has fully recovred from the glassing, or humanity terra formed it back to livable. i wonder if bungie had any lore cooked up for what the state of the galaxy and all the leftover Covenant species were doing thus many years in the future. clearly the unsc and humanity is the dominant force again considering the hightech ship in the background. maybe aftwr destiny is done they will give up on that shit and pay a cpuple hundred million to buy out the halo ip from Microsoft. hey a man can dream.
It's definitely humanity coming back to repopulate Reach. And that ship looks way more advanced than even the Infinity. Shows how strong Humanity can be
That ship is part of the *2589 Recolonization* of Reach. Reach was eventually recolonized by humanity in 2589. In 2554 security troops and scientists landed on the Reach to survey the planet and to deem wether or not it could be recolonized. In 2555 after a year of testing, surveying, and bringing back Reach’s systems online, Humanity started to colonize Reach once again. It wouldn’t be until 2589 that Reach would be fully operational and able to resume its operations such as agriculture, mining, and non UNSC/ONI operations. UNSC/ONI operations were resumed in 2555 after Reach’s systems were brought back online.
Don’t even compare the two. Noble Six sacrificed his life to save the Autumn and Cortana. Rittenhouse destroyed his life because he wanted to be a hero.

Look at how hard Noble 6 hits that elite at 00:11 he put everything he had left into that swing. Broke his shield with one blow
Knocked him square on his ass too
Not just broke his shield, also fully f**kin ended him too, knocked him out at the very least, but those bullets were to just make sure he stayed down
I have literally never gotten sad because of a video game and this made me very sad. Such a great game.
