- The Miami Hurricanes are still waiting on an answer for Transfer Portal target Tyler Baron. The former Tennessee defensive end is taking his time in deciding between Miami, USC, Ole Miss, and potentially LSU. Hurricanes fans had been spreading rumors over the weekend about a possible announcement, but Baron’s timeline has been harder to predict. He has 100 career tackles and stands 6-5, 260 pounds. Baron racked up a career high five sacks last season with the Volunteers.
Host Alex Donno explains the possibilities as to why Baron has not been in any rush to make a decision. There could be administrative hold ups with his transcripts. Baron has been enrolled in three different universities which can complicate that process. He also has leverage to score the best possible NIL deal since he is a wanted commodity. Donno believes Miami to be in the lead, still.
Donno answers questions from Locked On Canes Insiders. The Hurricanes have been held back in recent years by not having enough consistency at quarterback and defensive tackle. Donno shares an accolade for Miami’s running back duo of Damien Martinez and Mark Fletcher. They are two of the top five graded returning running backs in the ACC. No one else in the conference has two of the top five. Donno wonders if this current Miami staff is the best group of recruiters Mario has worked with since arriving at Miami.

I don't think UM fans appreciate how good Mesidor is. If he could play an entire season, a big if, he would approach 10 sacks.

I don't see Fletcher playing in 2024 unless he's able to participate in Fall camp. He can't just jump into games without going through camp training. That would open himself up to other injuries. I'd rather see him take a rsh year and be healthy in 2025.

The reason for the hold up.....When Baron was enrolled at Ole Miss, he signed a kind of a "binding vow" meaning if he were to stay in the SEC, he can only play for Ole Miss. If he decides to enroll here at Miami, then there's a higher possibility that Ole Miss may let him out of that contract

@jeffwilliams5229 @charlesdennysfg7479 - Fact Check here. Ole Miss is not the problem. True, he signed Ole Miss paperwork but that means he also committed to SEC rules. SEC has an no-transfer inner conference rule after a certain time. That’s why if he stays in the SEC he pretty much has to stay with Ole Miss. Think more about the precedent it would set in the SEC, they don’t want their inner conference rule challenged - after all, the coaches voted for it by a majority. So it’s really bigger than Ole Miss here. To your point, he could transfer to ACC or any other conference but he won’t be on a non-Ole Miss Team in the SEC next year.

Badger is a 3 level kid can stack cbs and get deep. Good rac guy underneath with reliable hands + good routes. I think he is more of a 1 than any one we have because he is a consistent threat at all 3 levels of the field. He shows up in the red zone too where our wrs tend to have issues

Badger has a whole different level of speed that Brown doesn't possess. The only downfall with Badger is he has been dealing with some back issues but word has it he is suppose to be ready for fall camp.
I wouldn't worry about the gators. Mertz will be running for his life and he will have very little time to find his receivers. Miami's defensive line will feast on the gators O-line.🙌
@@904Hurricane I think it helps that he wasn’t there for spring and has less time to acclimate, but he is definitely a threat. That being said, our defense is much better than theirs for the most part and our offense is more balanced and has more options in terms of moving the football
