People who are asking for free courses - please note that most of the Litao videos are available at no cost on here. It is just the full course (with assessements and tutor support etc) that costs. I have been using his videos to develop a basic understanding and it hasn't cost me a penny. I really really doubt you'd get as good content as the free version elsewhere online. Use what is available correctly (e.g. person who wanted him to teach you common words - it's all on some of the other videos).
Thank you, Litao. This is excellent stuff.

Well, this channel is far above the rest, mainly female ones. This guy is obviously intelligent and has a gift of teaching.

What's up with so many people asking him to do free courses? Have you considered that this might be his livelihood? You don't go into a shoe store and ask for free shoes just because you want a new kick-ass pair. It is clear from watching this content that he puts an enormous amount of time and effort into making/producing these videos. It is by far better than the vast majority of A/V content I've seen on the web and he should be allowed to charge for it. If you don't want to pay that much (myself included) then move along and find something cheaper (or free) that will probably be less professional, less detailed, less interesting and harder to follow.

What's with people and this level of fixation on minor details? "Lying". Why not adding words like "betrayal" and "cultural assassination" to make it more dramatic?
The history of characters is more than just "ancient -> traditional -> simplified", that would just cover a small part of history. What if I want to know how it transitioned to square handwriting? Or how it's written in cursive? Or how to read it in Seal Script? There are a million details about each character.
