    3. If you are interested in the origin of each Chinese character, then this course is perfect for you. For most of the Chinese characters in this course, we will explain thoroughly and vividly how they were created, in the process you will learn the real stories behind the characters and some interesting knowledge about Chinese history and culture.
    4. Those who want to improve their Chinese proficiency while learning Chinese characters should take this course. We always explain and practice the characters in the words, phrases, sentences or even grammar, so it’s not only a Chinese character course, but also a comprehensive Chinese course.
    5. This course is perfect for people who plan to learn Chinese characters all by themselves or with limited time.
    6. It will also be a good complement for people who already attend a Chinese class.
    7. This course focuses on simplified Chinese characters.
    👉How it works:
Step 1: Watch a video lecture with detailed and clear explanations of each new stroke, character and related words, phrases and sentences.
Step 2: Use the online or printable flashcards and the audio recording to review what you have learned.
Step 3: Take the online quiz to check whether you really master all the characters and related knowledge of each lesson.
👉You're going to get from this course:
After working through this course, you will be able to read and write 28 Chinese character strokes and 100 commonly used Chinese characters, and recognize approx. 300 related vocabularies and sentences. More importantly, with our clear and systematic instructions you will master the correct way to learn Chinese characters and lay a solid foundation for your future learning.

I was first introduced to Chinese characters through my studies of Japanese at a university, I learnt a few dozens of characters with their correct stroke sequence but over the years I forgot many as I left the school and did not really continue my Japanese studies.
About a month ago I decided I wanted to learn Chinese, I started with Paul Noble's amazing audiobooks, which I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who's thinking about learning Chinese, but I had very little visual stimuli. Although there is a booklet coming with the courses, it doesn't really teach you to write Chinese characters. So now I can already speak a little bit and know some of the Mandarin Chinese grammar, but I am basically illiterate. So I was looking for a good way to learn the Chinese characters and I stumbled upon this video.
I love how this lesson is structured and the fact that we are shown the proper stroke sequence. And on top of that we learn the proper words for all kinds of strokes together with the historical origins of the characters!
Thank you very much for this video, Mr. Zheng Tao, it's an amazing source of knowledge! 谢谢

All written characters naturally began as pictographs of some sort, but the Latin alphabet simply lost a lot of its similarities over time just because of the way people ended up using it. It seems that Chinese is different and retained its link to the old symbols, which is pretty cool!

Chinese language has 2 systems, writing and pronunciation. Pronunciation changes over time across regions and forms varies dialects. It is the unified writing system that has been keeping an empire from falling apart before industrial revolution.

    • @Joan-qe7gm
      @Joan-qe7gm ปีที่แล้ว +1

In a sense Latin letters are still the writing system. The fall of the Roman Empire ended the speaking, but the Latin letters ended up dominating writing systems in Western Europe. In this case, the writing system was adapted to fit the various languages - adding ligatures to satisfy German and French for example.

Your explanation is excellent and clear, explaining the etymology of these characters is incredibly helpful for a native English speaker like me who finds the Chinese language difficult to grasp a foundation with. Don't worry, it only takes 4 thousand words. The real difficulty is pronunciation. You need to remember a lot of pronunciation, and there are tones. The hardest part is that the same word may have many meanings, and you need to learn some ancient Chinese, but when you learn. You can read all the Chinese books without having to accumulate words like English
