You can now hold a gaming computer in your hands thanks to advancements in mobile hardware. With the increasing popularity of handheld PC gaming devices like Valve's Steam Deck, other companies like Asus and Lenovo are also entering the market with their own portable devices.
The ROG Ally X, which Asus recently unveiled, is a significant improvement over the original ROG Ally. Similar to this, Valve updated its Steam Deck with a new OLED model the previous year.
Though both are excellent portable gaming PCs on their own, continue reading if you're having trouble deciding which one to choose. To assist you in making a decision, we'll examine the Asus ROG Ally X and Steam Deck OLED in more detail.

you said OLED like 5 different ways
Im so confused😅
AI
@@nicklen6873 I was thinking that too
Glad i wasnt the only one annoyed with that.
I caught that too😅
I had both side by side. I found the Ally screen could look almost just like the Steam deck oled by running it bright and in vivid mode. I would never want it set that way because colors are over saturated. I also find that really dark blacks are not very natural. In GTA a black car on oled is so dark you can’t see any detail. It actually looks better on lcd to me. LCD has improved a lot lately.
Thanks for your feedback, I think then LCD is the winner in this case.
Did he jus said stream deck
What?
Not trading my OLED Steamdeck just yet, it amazing!
Great!
I just sold mine to get the ally x 🤧
@@Zurosake done right!
Ai channels are the worst
what didn't you like about the video?
@@ministrytech I think you lost me at "Although we haven't used the Ally X directly yet"
@@_adonisk Well, that's right, this is a comparison video based on the specifications.
The SOC in the steam deck has already been proven to be more efficient than the regular ally. The only battery life gains the ally x will have will be the bigger battery.
Yeah the battery life on the steam deck is like 6x better in actuals vs the ally.
I completely agree!
You can not compare a well consolidated product to a still not out future product. Its a product that still hasn't seen real world gaming. They even fear to let people perform benchmarks test to it.
so this is a comparison based on specs only.
Steam deck OLED on sale? Where?
Same thing I said lol
yes, you can buy on the official website.
It's not on sale tho. I been waiting for a sale. Hopefully during summer sale end of this month
24GB RAM is needed not 16GB that the steam has. I have current asus rog and steam deck and I play asus way more. I got rid of my xbox to use game pass on the rog ally.. some game i cant play on the steam deck.. i can play any PC game on the asus rog ally.. so if i like the rog ally more now then obviously it new and better version will be impeccable… if you like the current and future releases the go asus.. if you like classics like arcade or games that you dont mind a low frame rate get steam deck.. first person games are for asus rog. I played cyber punk on steam deck and i held 25-30 frames and on my asus rog it held a solid 40frames on 18w and when i put it to 30w it held a solid 60frames.. pros and cons with both. I gave my fiance the steam deck so we can okay star dew valley together lol. Im getting the new asus rog X… I play r6 on my asus rog currently. If you like first person games and high frames get a asus rog ally x… easy. Steam deck is like an advanced switch. Asus rog ally you can leave your other consoles behind for.
Cyber punk plays at 40 fps on steam deck. And I can play a game like Doom 2016 at ultra settings and 40 fps. Why would anyone only play classic games?
Depends on the graphic settings. But you can play it 40fps, true
@@kasjamm Yeah maybe now but when I played it I could not hit 40fps. Either way asus rog is better for fps overall. Some people are just nostalgic and only play classic games lol there is a big world with many people. There are many gamers that mainly play classic games like ps1 and xbox games for example like manhunt, max payne, crazy taxi, etc. The older I get the more im pulled to classic games as my son plays more up to date games lol.
I chose the orgianl not fake steam called rog x
perfect solution!
Stream deck old already
agree!
These AI TH-cam channels are killing me
You shouldn't die before your time.
Neither just remote play off of your pc. This shit pointless.
I'll tell you something: I've taken remote gaming from my PC to it's absolute best. Using Sunshine on my host PC and Moonlight to receive, I've been able to get a pretty good experience. But I'm buying a handheld. Why?
Because you can't use remote gaming without internet. Mobile data doesn't count, it results in insane input latency and often flat out doesn't work.
Not to mention that many are looking to buy a handheld AS their PC, and don't have a PC to stream off of.
The point of portable gaming of any sort? Playing anywhere. Playing on the car or in the plane. Playing at places which probably don't have a good internet connection... Can't do that with cloud gaming or game streaming.
@@ravenger2445 only other time I’d play is in a hotel while travelling, so remote play for that. I’d be too embarrassed to pull out these bricks on a plane. If you are playing somwhere where there’s no internet then it’s not even worth it because without outlet these bricks die too fast.
@@Mike-wc3jo the steam deck oled can get up to 10+ hours, and the ally x gets up to 8...
@@Mike-wc3jo Most people wouldn't have a problem using one in public unless they're super self-conscious. Also the Ally X and Deck OLED can get 5 or more hours of battery life with the right optimizations, and if that's not enough, there's portable power banks that could extend that to 10 hours.
@@ravenger2445 fair enough
Windows handheld? No thanks, no more such mistake
