A drug inspector is also known as a quality control inspector is the one who works to ensure that the drugs are safe for human consumption. Their main responsibility is to examine pharmaceuticals at varying stages of the manufacturing, distribution and selling process .
Age Limit : 21 years and 30 years (GC)
The reserved category candidates get relaxation in the upper age limit according to the Government’s rules and recommendations.
In State Level, State Public Service Commission Recruited for two vacancies post
1) Drug Inspector
2) Junior Analyst
Educational Qualification
1) For DI:
Candidates must have completed his Graduation in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Clinical Pharmacology or Micro-biology or Medicine or any other equivalent qualification with these or related specializations from a recognized institution.
2) For Junior Analyst:
Candidates must have completed his Graduation in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Chemistry from a recognized institution.
Experience for Junior Analyst:
1year experience in BPharma
2years experience in Pharmaceutical Science or Chemistry
Drug Inspector Salary: State Level
The gross salary of a Drug Inspector in the Health and Family welfare departments of various state governments ranges between Rs. 40,000 to Rs.1,20,000.
Eligibility for Drug Inspector: (Central Level UPSC)
Candidates must have completed his Graduation in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Clinical Pharmacology or Micro-biology or Medicine or any other equivalent qualification with these or related specializations from a recognized institution.
Drug Inspector Selection Process:
A Drug Inspector is selected on the basis of performance in the academics, Written Exam and Personal Interview taken by various departments of state and union government. The written exam basically consists of the questions related to the Pharmacy and General Knowledge. You can follow some steps to reach your goal of becoming a drug inspector.
Drug Inspector Exam Pattern:
Drug Inspector exam paper usually consists of two papers with 250 marks, which includes 200 marks for Pharmacy having 100 multiple choice questions which have to be completed in 2 hours and 50 marks for General knowledge having 50 multiple choice questions and this paper has to be completed in an hour.
The question papers are usually set in English medium and the same should be answered in English only.
Drug Inspector Salary:Central Level
The gross salary of a Drug Inspector in the Health and Family welfare departments ranges between Rs. 45,000 to Rs.1,20,000 permonth (7th pay Commission level 7th pay MAtrix)
