This policy will definitely improve the capability and thought process of children. However it all depends on how the teachers will nurture them. There should have been a regulation on school fees as well. Of late school fees has become a burden to middle class parents holding huge debts for their kids education.
Love the concept of giving Certificate if the student drops out after an year, Diploma after 2 years, Degree after 3 and Engineering degree after 4 years... Right now, after 4 years study, if a student has papers in arrears, they are left with nothing. They should get at least a Graduate Diploma for attending an Engineering college for 4 years.
The most dangerous part of the New Education Policy is the three-language formula, which is sure to cause severe irreparable damage to the development of this country in many crucial sectors. It will be a grave injustice to impose one more language on poor children studying in government schools who presently face callous discrimination on account of lack of adequate opportunities to have proficiency in English matching the level that the children of wealthy parents studying in elite schools effortlessly achieve. Can anyone point out a single nation in the whole world in which there is a compulsion for all its children to learn three languages? Many eminent scientists and scholars belonged to the countries that teach only one language to its children. We tend to forget that a language is only a tool for communication, and we thoughtlessly give more importance to the study of languages than they deserve. At the present level of technological advancement, powerful devices that provide instantaneous translation from one language to another are available. Hence, a person conversant with only one language will not be denied an opportunity to have access to the whole spectrum of knowledge available in the entire world. Nowadays, the students have to learn many concepts in science, technology, and humanities, and it would be foolhardy to waste the precious time required for attaining mastery in those subjects in learning to use another extra tool for communication. There is no denying that the three-language formula is a ploy to impose Hindi on non-Hindi speaking people covertly. If the three languages instead of two languages - mother tongue and English, are imposed on our children the future generation of this country would very much lag behind their counterparts in the advanced nations in their knowledge of science and technology. It is cruel to impose three languages on our young children. I can even cry from the mountain top that the three-language formula is anti-poor and anti-nation and has to be resisted at any cost; otherwise, we shall regret the blunder of its acceptance even in the near future.

Yes...no doubt education policy, need to be modified, from time to time, to bring about improvements. More importantly, a strong edifice need to be built to bring about improvement... which results in overall development, growth. As per our Constitution...It's said in the preamble, that 'Equality and Equal opportunity for all...Irrespective of Social and Economic status or background'. But, it's sad to understand that, it's not followed in our educational system... from childhood days. Though we are celebrating Indepence day, Republic day... since so many years, the basic question remains : are we UNITED in the real sense? Still we have social evils... Untouchability, communal disharmony, no respect for women, gender bias, economic and social status divide, caste superiority/inferiority... etc, etc. Perhaps, these will continue for years and years to come. We are a Nation of many religions, castes and languages; we have to work together, feel united thro mind and heart; then our thoughts and actions become integrated and then we can hope our nation to become stronger in terms of - value, development, growth, employment and self sufficiency. If we try, to analyze the root cause for the above evils, it's perhaps- it's in our educational system. We have schools for- rich children (private business schools), poor children (govt school with out proper infrastructure), separate school for minority group and separate school for boys and girls. This obviously brings out: rich-poor divide, status divide, minority group non inclusion into the main stream, gender bias/inequality, at the very early age. Social, economic injustice/divide gets deep rooted; superior/inferior complex and all sorts of differences , which cannot be imagined/visualised, gets into the innocent children - who will the future of the country, when they grow up. With these, it's only a distant dream to expect our nation to become ' United and Integrated', as there's no common Vision. Perhaps, remedy is, we have to put into practice, what our Constitution says- Equality and Equal opportunity for all; in our Educational system. i.e Common School for All, at least up to 10th grade. This may help-to mitigate, perhaps eliminate, all such evils mentioned, above. When children of all religion, caste, languages, rich-poor, boys-girls.... sit side by side and study together, it brings-we are all equal, we are all same, equal opportunity for all, no gender bias(familiarity with opposite sex results in immense benefit), respect for each other, eliminates social and economic differences and inculcate sense of 'comradesnhip', among children at the very early age; more over it's for 'social good', a true sense of Democracy. When, such children grow up, the benefits are manifold and no doubt our nation becomes UNITED. Thoughts and actions are integrated and our India becomes Stronger, as there is no internal enemy to fight with.
