This was such a nice video! I definitely feel your pain when it comes to making friends in your 30's - and creative friends at that. I went to Full Sail for cinematography, but eventually made my way back to writing; which I feel makes it harder to make friends. But it's good to know there's others in the same boat. 🙃 I wish you luck on your journey & I can't wait to see more.
Great video Lyssa!, something that not much people talk about but many of us go trough, I started in a big city were content creators and beginners would usually meet and invite people to be a part of, that definitely helped me to get better and gain knowledge. When I moved to the middle of nowhere in the states… things changed drastically, I was so excited to go out and explore but I had 0 contacts in the area, neither I knew where to shoot or what to do, it was like a dead small town followed by other dead towns with apparently no creators around. I was about to quit and I had already lost my creativity and inspiration. But then I remembered that I can make new friends and brainwash them into content creation! (Ok, maybe not like that😂) but making new friends, they were interested but never really tried to make content, so I gave them that push they needed to actually try it for themselves, that kept me going, sharing my knowledge with them and seeing their improvement was awesome. Months passed by and I found about some car meet happening in town and that’s how I met some content creators from the area that I never knew about until then, I made new connections and that opened the doors for other upcoming events and clients (even trips to different states with other content creators just to film and take pics). So there you go, there’s always a way! If things get rough just keep going and set yourself up for success. Dedication is key! Bloopers btw🙌😂
Making online friends is so hard. About a year ago I started reaching out to other small channels that I saw were trying to take TH-cam seriously just to grow alongside others, but that didn't really stick. People in the early stages aren't committed enough to care to befriend like minded people, or connections fall apart due to other reasons.
I feel you on that. I just moved to rural Alberta. I’m just gonna switch to photographing trains and cows. 😅. Moving to a small town from a small island is changing my photography and videography perspective. It’s a weird feeling
Cool video, im a videographer/filmmaker living in the Caribbean and it is definitely tough making friends and even tougher to shoot anything solo without friends 😅 or at least friends who are willing to shoot stuff sigh
I agree, I live in Scotland and i no one does what i do, I shoot Motorsport and no one i know does that, I made many friends working in Still Photography in sport but no one does videography. Most people always ask, OOHH Do you shoot weddings, HAHA nope action sports. If your looking for likeminded videographer people, My details are in my Profile :)
I love seeing other people’s perspective of where I live. Keep up the good work. I started filming my own series and if you’d be interested I’d like to share your story.
Hi Lyssa - i travel a ton and am an aspiring YT creator. if you’re interested in a destination collab let me know. i can usually take care of all travel with points for multiple people, aside from extremely exotic locations like the Maldives. I’m leaving hawaii now as i type this 😭
So true, such a good video Lyssa! Can’t wait to see more, let’s go film again soon!!
Thanks for the fun time! And just say the word 😁
Same here. It’s tough to find people that can understand what you’re doing. I wish I had more videographers

seeing the end result of what we create it always fun :D
love meeting other film makers and content creators on youtube
can't wait for the next vlog
Agreed. Finding friends even doing this as a hobby is challenging. Always down to make more creator connections.
It is hard to make friends. In your 30's and in content creation like we do. I agree. I do hope to make more friends though.
Good stuff. Love to see the continued growth. Keep at it! 🙌
Nice setting, a great use of circumstances (rain, foggy lens) can't wait for the next vlog.. :)

Yep, I know what you mean. I live in the Netherlands, and I know practically no one in my area who also does photo or video 🫠
Where in the Netherlands are you from? I might be able to connect you with some people.
Netherlands! I have a bunch of followers in film from there. Maybe I can find a way for yall to connect
@@LyssaGsep would be dope!
