The whole family heads up to our family cabin in the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota. The plan was to prep the cabin for the summer, but a big spring snowstorm surprises us instead.

About our Family Cabin: The original Steward Family Cabin was built in 1936 and has been a place where generations of Stewards have grown to love and cherish the outdoors. There have since been a few iterations of that cabin, and today this is our family's getaway in the Northwoods of Minnesota. This building was built in the 1980s as a bunkhouse for the main cabin and was later converted to be our full time cabin structure. Our cabins in northern Minnesota have been the inspiration for all of my Tiny Cabins.

One year, my dad and his friend bought a 1952 cabin cruiser many a day we went out towards the ocean and had to be hauled back in by another large or more appropriate boat but it was some very good days love. It’s so enjoyable being out on the water.
The sound of that 6 horse Johnson brings back a lot of memories....:)

Watching this video reminded me that I have to make a decision very soon on camping with my son and grandson as soon as school is out. My son is leary on me going because I am 70 and have had open heart surgery. I know that my time of 3 generations of camping together for multiple days is coming to a close. I've got to make the right decision.
I've made my decision. I'm going camping with my son and grandson. I've already paid my fees. There's no refund on camping fees. And, I'm too cheap to back out. So I am going camping 🏕️🥾😊

Olivia is growing up more and more every time I see her! That outboard motor dying on you reminds me of my late father's old outboard that always conked out at the worst time! Suggestion for you: Install two oarlocks and get two oars to keep in the boat in case of motor problems. That's what got my dad out of a pickle when the motor quit.

Such a beautiful piece of property. Having family time is the best gift any of us can have. I remember my father speaking of snow falling as late as the first of June in Michigan . Being in Florida my whole life it’s so hard to fathom but I would love to see it. Been in the 80’s here since February so to see snow is such a change. Beautiful family and video!

It's been awhile now since I was lucky enough to be on the water in the Chippewa Ntl Forest. When you cranked that outboard, I could actually smell the water, the air, and of course a bit from the outboard motor as well. It brought back so many good memories of life up there.

I'm in love with your beautiful Ellie and of course Olivia, who is the spitting image of her Mother! Good getting exposed to Minn--what a place! When I was a young teenager my family came to work in the fields(migratory workers) and I remember how very nice Minnesotans were with us.....keep up the good work!

Hi Jack! Another awesome video! Was so good to see Riley and Olivia…..miss Olivia has grown so much and come into her own personality. I loved it when she was dropping food for Ellie…..they are best buds! Don’t worry, Ellie isn’t gonna miss out on any camping adventure you go on! She loves them so much, as much as you do. Sorry the boat broke. I had something similar happen to me on the Columbia River in WA…..it sucked because of the fast current, I couldn’t paddle fast enough to keep moving forward. Finally another boat saw I was having an issue and towed me back to the dock. It didn’t look like you had any current to deal with…..thank God for that!

We used metal straps (the kind with holes going down the middle) to attach the barrels to our raft.
This place is really nice ❤It was great to see the girls like I always say Olivia is getting so big and she is as beautiful as her mama and it was nice seeing the whole family together I love snow so I really enjoyed watching the snow ❄️ the lake was amazing can’t wait to see this place in the summer and looking forward to see your new cabin until then stay safe stay healthy and God bless🙏❤️✌🏼
