Enjoyed the Juneteenth concert. Not as much as I enjoyed meeting you & Malin in the Hotel lobby in Jacksonville. You were both so kind & humble. Thought her name sounded kind of like mine (Kathleen). I suspected you were a musician because of the bodyguards but really had no clue who you were. I am for the rest of my years following you. When the Gap was so hot I lived in Milwaukee but didn’t know individual names just the music. My husband and I would dance & they’d shout out - Get a Room! Now I am 80 & he died on a Christmas Eve a few years ago - your music brings him back.

I'm literally in tears remembering all those Gap Band concerts I attended back in the day, everytime the next day I could never hear being so close to the speakers 😆but I always enjoyed their wonderful entertaiment, I started going to their concerts at 12 years of age and what an experience it was so thankful to see a great artist doing what he loves best ❤

Uncle Charlie recently had back surgery. I was sitting in the front row and I believe he was in pain but he pressed his way through! I love him and God bless him 🙏

One of great Oklahoma Native first saw the Gap Band at the Tulsa Motor Speedway last part of the summer 1973. He gives you a show and when he brothers we’re there Robert and Ronnie those blended voices.. So when I saw this at 3 something in the morning had to tune in. At 70 his saving himself and that singing and performing night after night probably taxing on his body. But he’s giving you everything his got night after night. And yes he stole the show .. LB June 24, 2023 Friday morning
Juneteenth is a celebration of nothingness as opposed to celebrating a national Harvest Festival Day. A celebration of who we are and our accomplishments and what we can claim as our culture and our values. Why celebrate the end of a butt whipping, lynching and abuse day. No black man has ever been freed by any emancipation proclamation written.

I wish I was there! Love seeing him receive all that LOVE!!! I graduated HS in 1996. I put "You dropped a bomb on me" on our varsity girls basketball team's warm up tape. None of my girls had heard it b4 but it became a fav. (I wentvto school with mostly white ppl in a small town) Parents in the crowd generally didn't like the songs on our tapes at all besides the run out song, but you could see them get calm and groove when that song came on. Like this was their sh*t back in the day! I love his/ their music. So ahead of their time!!! I used to listen to all of it in my walkman, then my discman all the time! This takes me back. ❤
