Great story, my wife’s family were great friends with Jimmy Tibbs, especially her brother Johnny, in Canning Town, never heard nothing but good things about him, only met him a couple of times unfortunately at funerals, but found him a perfect gentleman
Great story telling and what a phenomenal guy Jimmy Tibbs is. GOD bless him for his efforts in overcoming his struggles in life and finding the straight path which leads to heaven.
Jimmy trained me for ten years to win the Southern Area,British and European titles, a good honest man and top trainer, you can’t buy the experience he has in boxing and life
Got to know Jimmy pretty good, absolute gentleman and helped countless young men (who may well have been going down the wrong path in life) reach their true potential. Nothing but respect and love for this man! 💯
Good for him. Its good to see how he could have down a very slippery slope, but instead he slammed on the breaks on that life and made the right changes and decisions. Hard work and dedication paid off, and maybe even saved his life. People like those in his family and those they were at war with. They can't live a happy existence living that way. Imagine constantly looking over your shoulder...
He has had a memorable life hats off to the man. I am fighting for survival in the housing crisis etc and facing homelessness on Wednesday but I am a street based martial artist and train that won't stop in a tent in Sefton Park o not still got the gym and jkd 3rd generation student of the craft and a fighter in more way than one. May get his book can learn another from an old skool man like that 😊

I think it was out of order what happened to the tibbs, I hope Jimmy tibbs is laughing now, anyone who is anyone in boxing has heard of tibbs, one of the greatest trainer's in British boxing, and his book is a great read. 😎🥊. Also it was bang out of order why the nicholls, weren't charged, was there a bit of narking, going down, me thinks, but Jimmy turned his life around, and Fair play to him, Fate has a funny way to do it's thing, Gwan Jimmy+Mark. 🥊 Smashing it.

jimmy`s son mark is likely one of the best, he`s up there with the great teddy atlas and virgil hunter. on a positive note, the apple nevers fall far from the tree. both jimmy and mark are outstanding individuals now that jimmy is on the right path.
Jimmy is a legendary trainer better than Mark who’s good but not at the level of atlas or hunter or roach. Marks on the way up as a trainer done lots for women’s boxing.

Who.s disputing that ffs all was said canning town put out some top blokes Bill the Bomb D.Hunt the Bowers family the Nicoles the Readings not bad for a small area..in London now as a person from Blackhill i know all about Glasgow its a toxic dangerous place and one of the hardest places to survive in the 50.s n 60.s i arrived in Bermondsey end of the 60.s crime was rife violence in and around the docks and south east london was on par with what i had witnessed in Glasgow not a good place for a snotty nosed scottish lad who already sported facial scars fighting kids from Gallowgate.😮..👍

I met Jimmy in C wing at wormwood scrubs when he started his 10 yrs stretch. Couldn't meet a nicer guy. He was humble tough and would help anyone.

I had the pleasure of staying 7 days & nights in Mr tibbs villa 🌴 am. Scouser we got on, A gentleman may he rest in peace.
