Thank-you Anthony for the awesome comment and thanks for stopping by. If you build this Blitz kit hopefully you'll have as much fun as I did. Good luck on your own projects.
There's really no going wrong with the Tamiya brand. The armour kits may not be the most detailed on the market part-wise, but they strike a perfect balance between detail while keeping complexity in check. My biggest beef would be with the pricing on some of their newer boxings, but like everything else these days, prices seem to be going up on everything. Good luck with your projects and thank you for your note!
Arguably the most important vehicle in the German war machine. Many survived the war and they were used everywhere. Random fact: GM already owned Opel prior to the war; after the war, GM sued the US government for damages caused by bombing its Opel factory; they won the lawsuit. Weird.
Kind of an ironic twist to the story. But what were we to do, bomb around the Opel plant? It was a freakin' world war and the Nazis were trying to take over the world. Thanks for the note Felipe!
Dear Tomas, Thanks for sharing the excellent work. In video 12:30, do you use Tamiya acrylic to paint the seat? if you do, what is the paint number of Tamiya acrylic and mixing ratio? Thanks
Hi Chang. The base leather colour on the seats was actually an old bottle of Testors rust which they don't make anymore. Any leather tone would work - red brown with a bit of white or even rust with white. Some paints do have "leather" as a descriptor. I overcoat the base brown with Tamiya clear orange which helps to get that padded leather look. If you use plain old Tamiya brown acrylic or enamel as a base then overcoat it with the clear orange, it should give the same colour as the video. Good luck with your project!
Thanks Bill for the nice comment! I really appreciate hearing from viewers - luckily some of them are even complimentary! Best of luck with own building!
Brilliant work there! Good camera work, tips on the build, weathering etc. I'm considering getting this kit,I think this video has made my mind up!...it's a yes from me!
Hi Steve - thanks for the awesome note. You can't go wrong with a Tamiya kit and I think you'll enjoy building this one. Sad about the knock-outs in the bed but a little cargo or a canvas cover and you're good to go. Have fun and good luck with your build!
@@stevieRay3211 No worries!, praise well deserved! I've done a number of kits last few years, mainly 1/35 military,i love doing the weathering!,it's always good to see other modellers videos,to get fresh ideas Again, excellent work Tomas!
Thank you for the encouraging note Azzy, really appreciate it. Goes to show how even a person with all thumbs can pass inspection with enough practice. Thanks for watching and all the best to you!
Hi Panzer Meister - thank you for the nice comment and glad you could drop by. Comments from fellow modelers means a lot so I really appreciate it. Stay well my friend!
Great truck, great model, great build. But you never mentioned the scale until 23 minutes. I guessed the scale from the tools in your hand, plus the accessories you sourced were a clue. But the scale should have been in the description! Lovely build by the way
Hi Hoppin. In my defense the scale does appear in the title sequence, albeit briefly. Good suggestion though since this kit does come in 1/48. Glad you enjoyed the video otherwise and keep the comments coming as I'm always looking for ways to improve the show for viewers. Good luck with your own projects!
Thanks for giving the video a look. I'm lucky to be able to share the satisfaction of finishing these little gem kits with curious viewers. Your comment made the day!
Thanks for the note PB and I appreciate the feedback. It sucks having to set aside the figures in these kits but time constraints when making the videos makes it difficult to finish them in a reasonable time. Plus I fear if I start to include the figures the series may turn into a comedy. All the best sir and thanks again!
thats awesome. I build models in the 70th as a kid. And woul like to start that hobby again, but I am not good in all these awesome paintings :-( is the Opel a good beginner kit?
Just discovered this channel. Glad that I did. Great advice, focus on technique and clear, clean video/photo footage. Keep it up a look forward to more.
Thank you for watching Sven and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Should have the M5 build up pretty soon - the little bugger is taking longer than I'd like. Stay well.
for your panel dents, just warm a screwdriver blade over a flame. not too hot as you just want to gently melt the plastic. use the round shaft or blade of the screwdriver depending on damage you want to depict
Hey Eugene, thanks for the note. Don't keep the kit in your stash for too long. It's a nice build and looks great once done. Good luck with your building and God bless you when tackling the knock-outs on the bed. I can recommend a few good stowage items to hide the nasties.
Hey OMJIAMT, thank you for the nice comment. It's funny but I was going to use the phrase, "one man's junk is another man's treasure" in my top 10 video but didn't use it in the end. Wonder if I would have had to pay you royalties if I did? Anyway, glad you enjoy the videos. LOL about KIT. I just had a listen to the voice and I'm not sure it's too close. But the compliment is still nice. Thank you my friend and all the best to you!
Hey Chris, thanks for the question. When the triangle is up, it signals that the truck is towing a trailer. Apparently it was a German traffic regulation. All the best to you and thanks for dropping by.
Hey Tony. Military vehicles aren't so much my specialty, rather, I like history and WW2 is of particular interest. I also like the engineering aspect. Built cars as a kid and may build the odd one sometime in the near future. Thanks for the note. Stay well too.
Thanks Tony De, always look forward to your comments. Other than the cab an easy build and fun to paint. She still needs cargo in the back but that's for a future episode. Stay well.
Hi, tomas.. Great video... Model looks fantastic... Llke the way you done the leather seats...really sets off the cab...an the wood grain... As well.. 👌👌... Top.. Work... As usual... 😊
Hello Tomas ... The wood planks on the cargo bed looks fantastic !!! Do you apply your oil paints after applying pledge floor protector or another clear varnish. I personnaly find it difficult to blend oil paints on a gloss surface or at least a surface protected with varnish. Can you give me any advice ?
Hi Alain - thanks for the note. I put the oils over the gloss coat. I usually use flat acrylics to finish the models and oil pin wash doesn't work properly unless it has a gloss under it. The oils I use to create highlights and shadows seem to work okay when blended over a gloss too but you may be using a brand that doesn't do as well on gloss. I use very little paint, almost a dry brush, when applying the highlight and shadow oils then blend them. Maybe put your gloss down, pin wash with oil, then dullcoat, then use your other oils. Find a way that works for you and your materials. Keep at it and experiment!
Hey Charlie, thank you for nice comment and for the sub! I can't help building models but your comment makes it even better. Stay well and thanks for watching!
It will probably be easier to build than the Italeri model (with a very tricky cab construction) but otherwise I see no other advantages of the Tamiya model.
Thanks for the feedback Delb - I appreciate it. I'm torn since many people compliment the music. Would your preference be quieter music or no music at all? Maybe I'll release two versions - one with and one without the music (we aim to please!). Thank you for watching.
Excellent work!
Thank-you Anthony for the awesome comment and thanks for stopping by. If you build this Blitz kit hopefully you'll have as much fun as I did. Good luck on your own projects.
I guess I need to build a couple tamiya kits, it looks like they practically build themselves

Assembling the cab and its clear parts is a bit tricky so probably not the best kit to start with.

Interesting technique. I've tried something similar but I don't seem to have the skills necessary to mix plastic with heat. Thanks for the suggestion.
