    Fantastic build. It demonstrates that a model doesn't need to be an armoured vehicle to be fascinating.

    Good work and far from basic, the stowage sells it for me! Great to see that the supply vehicles get some love and attention, too.

      The old support vehicles don't get the love they really deserve at all! Which is a shame as they provide such interesting modelling possibilities and some truly cool looking vehicles too

    Great video as always Shane, and a massive thank you for increasing the volume, its a huge help for me, I can hear you clearly now.
    You could add a cigarette to the soldier too, that and the lamp with a leaking Jerry can and you could call it "the calm. Before the storm"
    Anyway, thanks again mate, very much appreciated.

    Perfect "supporting cast" for a diorama. Tanks as you say get all the attention so you can give the truck a good mudding and or dust job, and with the stowage it will seem to have more detail than it really does especially if you do a good job on the figure. Make him match the rest of the figures elsewhere and their level of detail will sort of magically carry over.
    Just brilliant.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tanks get all glory but without these supporting vehicles the armored units could be as effective as they in the field. It was US logistics mastery that gave their fighting units that extra flexibility in battle. I've always wanted to do mega dio based on that famous photo of the French 2nd Armored getting armed and fueled in the field. Its just a meadow filled with M4's and GMCs lol

      @@longlance67 Yep. American industrial capacity and adaptability surprised everyone (including us what with typewriter companies making machine guns). There's a story that a captured German officer knew it was over when he saw us unloading filled sandbags from ships. Probably apocryphal... but maybe not.

    Shane, did you know that Tamiya made an accessory kit that included a hook for the end of the string?? I put a knot in the string to connect it at the start of the winch assembly. It allowed me to wind the string on the two hooks on the bumper.

    Hi Shane. As I watch your video tears of envy are rolling down my cheeks - last year I built the one from Italeri, and it was horrible! Neither locating pins nor locating holes, everything was glued on flat surfaces, nothing to hold the parts together - it took me forever. But with some scratch building, lots of stowage, and heaps of paint and weathering it turned out pretty nice, if I may say so myself 😁 In the end it simply pays out to be persistent and creative!!! I'm anxious to see your paint job - when will the video come out? Cheers and all the best to you, Mike

    • @longlance67

    Nice build! These soft skins have so much character and really add to a scene! 👍 I use the quick set cement and Contacta in the same manner. I notice that you (and a lot of other builders) like to 'slop' on the liquid glue, do you need to to clean that up or do you find it disappears under the primer/paint?

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% I feel the same, having support vehicles really add great character to a scene. It really gives an indication of complex machines that were these fighting units were. I would love to create a scene of an armor unit getting resupply with loads of these trucks bring fuel and ammo to armor unit in their staging area. Would be such an awesome diorama to do!
      As for glue, for most part its hidden under the primer layer. But any heavy glue marks I tend to scrap or sand away before priming
