The sata 3 and m2 have different types of connections. My laptop have both sata 3 and m2 nvme slots. If your laptop doesn't have m2 nvme slot then you can buy the sata 3. I hope this satisfies your question.

Mine Laptop shows 5 PCI express ports All ports are Gen 3.0 But heres is something problematic I found that Only first PCIe Slot is Gen3 x4 which is occupied by Nvidia 940mx 4Gb DDR3 2nd slot is Gen3 x1 for Wifi 3rd is empty ☞︎︎︎ Gen3 x2 4th is Gen 3 x1 occupied by Ethernet 5th is Gen3 x1 also empty So my analysis is that The M.2 Nvme Slot in my laptop is Gen3 x2 limiting Read Write to only 2000mbps even with 2tb 970 evo plus which exceeds well over 3000 mbps. so please If anyone knows what speed are we getting with Nvme Gen3 x4 on Hp Pavillion 15 CC-1-XX please lemme know.

Is this the cc183cl model. Also can you just take out the battery and run it straight from the ac adapter? I never take my laptop off of my desk and it's a hassle to charge my old battery to 80% and then unplug it after 2 hours and plug it back in. Not Working in HP PAVILION 15 CC129TX Laptop. Its only working now as Storage device only and boot device manager is not detecting this SSD in Laptop. Hence even after loading windows 10 in this drive it is not booting in UEFI boot mode. If someone has any solution then please write or it will only work as Storage device. Further I would like to mention that windows is recognising WD SN550 NVME SSD as Microsoft Storage Device instead of SSD.

I was trying to do that also before but I havent done it successfully. What I did before was change my hdd to ssd 2.5 and was able to clone windows.

Actually the uprading from HDD 2.5 to SSD 2.5 before increased its performance... I added the the NVME SSD for storage increase.

I think the 8GB SSHD and 1TB HDD is one. Just replace the hdd with hhd.
