I'm really tired of people saying "This is the BEST audio interface!" every single time there is a new interface coming out, most likely because they're sponsored. Meanwhile we completely ignore honest companies like ESI audio that are making absolute gems and MUCH better deals for the money than the vast majority of mainstream manufacturers and NO ONE is talking about that. But this is a very interesting product, I'd you this much.
Hi. I wasn't paid to make this video. I actually think what Heritage Audio is doing here is as you said "interesting", and definitely stands out from many other audio interfaces I've used.
The combo has it all
Feels like apollo + 1073 warmer thicker vocals the heritage sounds more like a twinfinity pre just my take
I was just about to write the same thing... LOL
AGREE
The Problem is that IT IS only an Audio Interface If you are Not working with external Equipment or Multi Channel Output and Inputs
You cant record more than one Instrument at the Same time
If you want to root anything to seperste Outputs you need an Audio Interface that is supporting multiple Outs and ins
If your more Solo Artist producing in the Box then IT IS a good choice of If you can Connect Other Audi Interfaces IT maybe also makes sense
Exactly, I was in love until he turned it around
Exactly. With adat in and out I’d be sold
I agree because I was sitting here thinking how I wouldn't be able to run my lunchbox with this how I'd like to . Maybe I'm wrong though .
Oh my God can you imagine if there was an EQ and a compressor on that thing.😮
I could imagine how much it would cost too lol
i agree listening on my studio monitors
Neve have their own 1073SPX-D channel strip for $3K.
I think your able to add it within the DSP powered mixer ... definitely gonna give APOLLO a run for there money
@@jdosupreme4185 You are.
How does the drivers and VST Processing compare with other interfaces in the same prizepoint?
good but when you switch I hear a crisp and not round sound from this interface ...
Great video. This helped me a lot :)
Thanks for watching!!
Nice, is it possible to use them aggregated and support ?
How's the DA sound when monitoring your mix?
Ur quality is dope bro..❤
Thank you so much 😀
Interesting to know how much of the sound is coming from the converters vs the transformers/pre
that sounds phenomenal
Interesting video! Thanks for the info!
Bro, nice song and yep, nice interface
i dont know man, i think i73 kinda has harsh upper mids tho... littl bit muddy to my ears, preamps taste like cheaper clones of neve 73, and conversion quality is just like my ssl 2 plus, i mean its not a bad interface but definetly not promising something new .
Does it have the possibility to load the mic with Low Z?
What about the HA plugins? Headphone output quality? Any good? I really want to see/hear an in depth review…. So far since the official release all i’ve seen on TH-cam are reviews which say the exact same thing 6-months ago!!!
Hi. In this video, I'm more focused on the built in 73 pre amps and how they compare to that of the Neve 1073. The Heritage Audio plugins, especially the BritStrip, sound pretty good... not the same amount of plugin options compared to the UA Apollo though... also Regarding headphone output quality... I wasn't too focused on this, but while testing audio and using the interface on some of my own projects, I don't have any complaints in this area... Hopefully this info helps.
The headphone output was this first thing I noticed 👌🏾 .. and I'm upgrading from a Scarlett 4th gen... It is worth the upgrade
You’re better off checking tech specs of the headphones out impedance and see if that corresponds to the cans you’re using personally that’s why I use Apollo x they push my Sennheiser HD 650’s to the Max
I heard it on my phone and I could hear a massive difference. For the price point I’d stick with interfaces that have amazing ad/da conversion and preamps and there are loads to choose from
the 1073 + Apollo has more mojo for sure. The interface isn't bad, but less mojo for sure.
Looks nice but I wish it had more inputs and outputs. This limited i/o just not enough even for an intermediate home studio...
What desk is that? Or whatever you mount the racks in
He made a video about it a while back, it's one of the Buso Audio ones
What a pity that you have not analyzed the software and the DSP that is included. There are no reviews about this interface yet and there would have been a good opportunity to do so. 😢😢😢 💔
How could I record a drum with 2 channels? I'm new on this
cool design!
On the sound demo, the UA with Warm audio sounds a bit bigger for me... but you paying like 4 times more
wow ,UAD + Neve Vs heritage i7 pro 3 interface ??
Just got mine and the mixer will not load... Other than that it makes my old 4033a sound great... It gets hot as hell though... If you're using a Scarlitt it's definitely worth the upgrade
Hey Bro. My heritage is on the way now. But i have Rme ucx II. Rme also hot as hell. Do you like the sound? Previously i''ve had Motu ultralight mk5 and it sounds disgusting. Thing and shrill.
@@thanos4480 the sound of the i73 is amazing.. you can definitely hear the warmth in your vocals vs the scarlitt 4th gen.. my friend has an Apollo x and the i73 sounds just as good. The support team replied quickly and was able to fix the mixer issue with a visual c++ update
To be fair, if you're using a Scarlitt anything is a good upgrade !!
@@brin57 yeah that's why I went to a friend's house to compare it to an Apollo
@@thanos4480 I was going to get the ucx ii but didn't want to deal with the software ... The HA i73 is just as good as the Apollo twin x as far as sound goes
your vocals sound better when the capsule is mouth level vs nose level. good video!
is M-audio 2x2 audio interface good for LCT 240 microphone? liked your video btw!!❤
Try it? I don't see a reason why not.
@@jas_bataille sure! thanks bro, i was about to order online
Curious how this stacks up against the Audient iD24.
Me too because that was my next choice for an interface purchase.
TO BE HONEST THIS SOUNDS REALLY OK AND A BIT BRIGHT FOR MY TASTE FOR SURE AND TO BE HONEST HAVING THE PRE AND SOUND CARD SEPERATE IS BEST AND A SMALLER RUPER T NEVEPREAMP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD ALSO DO A REALLY NICE COST EFFECTIVE JOB BUT GIVE HI END RESULTS
If you are really tight on budget, just buy one microphone, Prodipe TT1 PRO-Lanen & a cable XLR+3.5 jack. And connect it directly to your PC/laptop jack. If the recording volume is too low, boost it from Sound card Properties.
Muito bom! E que voz linda, hein? Parabéns, irmão!
That song was fire bro
Thank you! I’m glad you liked my cover of it 🫡
I'm very honest. I hate the sound so bright and tiny. so better an audio interface and 1073 by Neve external preamp. Ok, maybe it's $1000, but the sound will suffer. I appreciate your initiative, but sometimes with a little financial effort, you can raise more money, you can have truly professional results. Of course, the microphone is very important, you can't compare it with a very cheap microphone. From a physical point of view, clearly, a more expensive microphone has something extra, that 3D, that cheap microphones don't have and that spatiality in the mix.
But thanks for trying the alternative, I appreciate your work.
May i know the interfact made from ??? RPC?
the Heritage sounds smoother and a little more balanced, the Apollo sounds a little hyped on the bottom end and high end
Gotta throw a deeser on those vocals
Hello sir, i am in the search for best microphone for singing under 100-120 dollars. I have a thin voice and was looking at some options like se v7(dynamic), se x1a (condenser), lewitt 240 etc. According to you which would be best for me for a home studio?
I will probably suggest the AKG P120 if you have thin vocals like me. Sounds perfect. Trust me.
@@MastaGOfficial Yeah its definitely good but i heard that it is not "so" premium microphone. I mean i want a microphone that i can hold onto for years, and clearly i am not satisfied with at 2020
Hi. I would honestly have a look into the MA-67. It offers great warmth you don't usually find at the $100 price tag.
@@EdwardSmithMusic But it's not available in India🥺. And the one which is available is double the price. Any other suggestions?
@@TheIndianStudioBM if you want a premium microphone, it will cost you a lot. Probably Rode NT1 will give you what you want. It's around $200. The more you invest, the better sound quality you will get but all depends on your vocal chain and post processing tho. If me, I would just use the Slate digital mic modeler or Antares Mic Mod to get the sonic character of my desired mic and achieve what I want on my vocal. Don't forget that you still need a compressor and preamp emulator to get a subtle harmony distortion and better dynamic control on your recordings because during the post processing, you won't need to do so much on the vocal itself. Trust me.
i need it too
They need to put in a compressor and it will be perfect😃
This could be great. Unfortunately the lack of SPDIF greatly throws me off. I need 4 inputs and could totally be happy with a 2 channel interface if it at least had a digital connection.
You know this isn't the definitive right? There is the Heritage Audio i73 Pro Edge
@@ocularrecords yup. And at the price point I find it way too expensive for what it can do.
I prefer the i73 over the apollo and neeve in the sound samples
Okay, that's fucking cool.
You have an interesting accent. What is your linguistic background?
I think the Conversion is playing a big part in the difference we Hear The ADC To be Specific!!!
Does it sound better than Audient id4?
Yes it does sound better than the iD4… quite a bit better mainly because of the built in 73 mic pre amp.
I'll stick with my Solid State Logic SSL2 thank you. And yes, it goes to 11.
Do I hear Tipsy by J-Kwon in the lyrics? 🔥🔥🔥
Tipsy cover is fire
If it had ADAT in and out I’d be sold
There is a slightly more expensive version that offers ADAT - sweetwater.sjv.io/AWbQ4J
If this is the best audio interface for a home studio then why does Andrea Bocelli use a Prism Sound Atlas audio interface for his home studio ? 🤔🤔🤔
May you made a cheaper interface sound comparison?
i73 is brighter and a tiny bit thinner in my opinion
Hello off Kazakhstan
from Kazakhstan.
suena mas aguda la heritage
Problem is it doesn't have enough outputs?
So true lol
I left when you started singing///sorry
Had you ever consider suicide? Dont go crazy on that
*****Correction at **2:12******------ Two dual XLR Inputs, not outputs.
Wow the Quality sound engine is Amazing on the heritage Audio i73 it does sound better
Click bait title don’t lie to get people to watch justs gets you a thumbs down it’s not one of a kind.
Please explain why it’s clickbait and why you don’t think it’s one of a kind?
@@OutspokenRap because title says one of a kind and it's not one of a kind you can go buy one your self.
@@Denvermorgan2000bro what?
nice device, but you are more flexible with a neutral Interface + different preamps (500er series for example). it is a one trick pony.
That’s not an issue, there is a line in.
I am starting to think every GearTube video has the same script.
can it connect to ipad?
Ams is much more compressed in a good way
I prefer the size of the ID4
Si metes transformadores, de verdad y demas cosas que quieres? no me compares la audient con esto.
did u lipsync that intro?? if so congrats. my ears hear close-micing but no mic in shot!
Just one headphone out? I guess if you are just recording yourself that is ok.
The i73 Pro Edge model has two headphones inputs and a few additional features - sweetwater.sjv.io/AWbQ4J
The pro edge is definitely better, even its 500$ more : 2 headphones input, 2 lines IN/OUT more.
Big difference between them
i73 more hamonic distortion
uad wins for me. too bright the new one!
apollo twin x kills this thing. plus so much more plugins you get with universal audio.
The Apollo plugins are definitely a game changed, but the pre-amps on this i73 knocks the Apollo Twin.
@@EdwardSmithMusic interesting. I will have to look into it.
The thing is, the preamps and converters in those twins aren’t very good. There are cheaper interfaces with much better preamps and A/D conversion! The marketing of UA is world class, they sell cheap stuff very expensive. But I still love them for all the other stuff and top notch plugins. And one part of the truth is that in todays world it really doesn’t matter. The cheapest interface is still good enough for producing a hit.. Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd and lots more made records on Apollo interfaces. We will see if any serious artist will make a record on this 1073 preamp clone interface.
so whats the difference between pro 1 and pro 2 . im considering it instead of my apollo actually. sounds really solid, i use waves plugins anyway.
@@blessednech pro one is just a single preamp whilst pro 2 has two of them. There is another detail and one would think the more expensive unit would have the extra, but the pro one has an additional line input. Pro one has the xlr/line combo on the back, DI on the front and another line on the back. I’m not a hundred percent sure but I think they made it smart and just the XLR combo and the DI run through the transformer. The second line input is clean 4db line level.
The pro 2 has two xlr/line combos on the back side and like the pro one just one DI on the front. And no additional solo line input on the back.
My conclusion is that the pricing of these units is bonkers. The Pro one is okay if the 1073 style preamp is at least as good as the GAP Pre-73 Premier preamp, that is crazy close sounding to the AMS Neve 1073 and sells for less than 500 bucks. But to double the price for just one more preamp on the Pro 2 and even no additional line jack is crazy to me! The Pro Edge has the edge as its name says. It has more of everything and also pretty good input/output variety. But it is still crazy expensive.. in this price range you could get a full outboard 1073 with eq and a good interface like SSL12. Or a Apollo twin x plus the above mentioned Golden Age preamp.
They made videos for every unit and go into detail. Here’s the one for Pro One:
th-cam.com/video/IOL5dNRJzpM/w-d-xo.html
I hate hearing Dusch an such sent this for me to check out immediately all credibility goes out the window I think reviews are only valid when you invest your money 1 because then you really put it through its paces and 2 because you feel no obligation to destroy the relationship with the company the interface is nice but it’s lacking a lot
amazing song :')
No! Just get an SSL 2 or an SSL12 and you are done.
1000 dollar interface and they couldn't put some adat ins on it? No upgrade path, no way to add anything to it.
ADAT would have been great
The bigger PRO EDGE model has ADAT - sweetwater.sjv.io/AWbQ4J
@@EdwardSmithMusic Aha, should have included that in the video. Missed opportunity :)
@@sortebill why? He’s not reviewing the whole line but just his unit..
@@derdude8201 Because it is useful information.
We all know this audio interface is not a real 1073.
It lacks an EQ, only has 70 dB of gain compared to 80 dB in the real deal, and has no output and line-in transformers.
If you want a 1073, get a real 1073 FFS!!!
OK: I stopped watching @3:30. Why? I stopped watching because in order to do an ACCURATE comparison, one MUST use the SAME performance through both interfaces SIMULTANEOUSLY. You are switching lines between interfaces. How can one compare? It's two completely different things because it's "line A thru interface #1 and line B thru interface #2. I have no doubt that the Heritage mic pre can compete against the Neve, BUT we need to hear the SAME performance. Make sense? Also, the Neve comes with an outstanding equalizer, whereas the Heritage does not. So comparing those two things isn't exactly fair. You have a good voice, btw. Keep writing and singing!! Thanks for sharing.
sorry man, you always lose me when you do sound tests. i think after the youtube upload it sound different on your reference speakers already, and then the people watching have all different output gear for listening to your tests. so does it really make sense ? it can't give a true impression...
edit: i think some technical data would have been more telling ;-)
I mean, that's the intended use case of a device like this. People are not going to listen your recordings in your studio... any "sound" of the preamp should survive a bit of compression, that's how one may judge if it's worth it in that sense
Need Julian Krause to do it
Without adat unfortunatly it’s not for me…
Hi. The Pro Edge comes with ADAT - sweetwater.sjv.io/AWbQ4J
@@EdwardSmithMusictoo expensive…
No! The best audio interface is Solid state logic SSL2+! It is the best 2-channel interface you can get.
Lol
@@PietroFGReal why Lol?
what stops me from buying a 1000 dollar twin and there neve plugin pre's?. uad has the most accurate analog modelled plugin there is, even top studio engineers could'nt make a difference. why buy this crap when its just an interface with watered down neve pre's. next time compare them to uad neve pre's im sure you would'nt be able to tell a difference.
I don't think that is that good to judge by a TH-cam demo because of the audio compression. The ideal would be to put the demos in SoundCloud, Patreon, Google Drive or something like that. That demonstration should be in a lossless file so it can be a fair comparison
I mean who cares
@@ic3berg339 the people that knows
C'mon man, I think we should get it done in a lab with men in little white coats doing the testing to make it look more official. It's TH-cam, its content, it's entertainment
Why does it matter anyways, no matter what you record or produce....it will be listened to on a phone or off a laptop. Won't make a difference in the end if you used a Behringer interface or a Lavry
@@darkozoric4184 Wrong. Look at what ProduceLikeAPro channel do, they provide WAV Files for true comparison, 'cause, most of gear channels like that are meant to make a choice, not be entertaining, and, yes people care, they'll listen to the proper WAV files on their (home) studio equipment.
If I follow your logic, then why care about mixing and mastering tracks then, if that's so futile ?
Your original set up is better
Over priced lets see what behringer can do lol
Nah RME
Some shill ass views here....
This is not the best interface......
Doesn't even come close to what an UFX3 with a ferrofish 16 can do.
And id say RME is mid tier.....
So much stuff out there that is WAY better even than RME.
This guys face bothers me
Apollo is shit and overpriced
Heritage has shit quality control, all the buttons have connection problems and do tell me how to fit a quality converter and 2 1073 topologies in that form factor....
first video from this channel I've come across.. is it me or does this guy not know the difference between inputs and outputs? keeps misidentifying the i/o ports .. headphone input..plus he refers to the instrument input as a line input.. on the back he says there are 2 dual XLR outputs ..huh? it's clearly labeled 'input'...
also, according to the labeling on the back, the dual XLR/TRS combo jack must only be used with the correct input signal.. I worked on a Mackie mixer from 20 years ago that also required line level to use TRS as the XLR inputs were hardwired for only mic level signals (meaning line level would be very very hot and to the point of clipping without any gain applied). most modern Gear I've used in the last 19 years has been able to internally identify and switch between mic level vs line level regardless of the connector used. *some* gear, required me to push a button to identify which signal was plugged in... but once again, the connector was not the identifying factor.
I mean this was quite a shitty review/walkthrough.
*and although I can detect a accent from this guy, I highly doubt there was any sort of language barrier when identifying the ports.. not when it comes to the I/O of an interface. that is universal. if it was labeled in hungarian, I would still be able to tell what an input and output is. And his English is better than most American college graduates.
BUT there is something weird about the voice-over.. its very strange.. doesn't seem to match up exactly with the video.. very odd. I wonder if there's some sort of AI voice translation thingy he is using..geez maybe he is entirely an AI construct--what explain why I've never seen his channel before. hrmm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
apollo is better
