For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho
as the video says, I used to have KMS on my win7. Though, when I upgraded to win10 it just activated as an OEM key and stayed there forever as a legitimate copy. or you could open the image by - obviously - double clicking on it and you could then right click and press "set as wallpaper", that's how i set my wallpaper before i activated windows
Or if you have an activated windows account on another machine. The moment you log into the machine with the unactivated windows with the account it will move the wallpaper with the valid account.

Linux is to the point that a lot of people really don't need Windows. The last few times I've installed W10 it's activated without a key, but I'm not sure why.
That's exactly what that mess that happened in 2015 with Microsoft hiding the Windows 10 installer first as an 'optional' Windows Update, and then 3 weeks later as a 'recommended' security update was all about. DESPITE having optional and recommended updates turned OFF and Windows Update set to ONLY inform me of new updates but let me choose to download, a MINIMUM of over TEN TIMES Windows Update had the entire Windows 10 installer downloaded and set to install it as soon as I turned my PC off for the night.

Absolutely true, and if that leads to not having to pay for upgrades I'm fine with that. Apple made you pay for each incremental upgrade to OSX for years. I pirated each version since they never asked for keys (they figured that got their money out of you since you bought the hardware). Microsoft started it's free upgrade program after Apple did. For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I have Linux Mint Kde enviroment, super happy but im butchered as an architect that i cant use Autocad
It's all about the fking ecosystem. It's the same stuff that Apple does!
The major advantage I'd say of Windows' upgrade is that they don't gate off hardware like Apple does. My 2011 MacBook Pro runs High Sierra perfectly fine, I'm sure it would run Mojave or Catalina, but they think I haven't given them money recently enough. With iPhones it's worse because the iOS upgrades are programmed to slow down older phones.
Dawson Powell have you tried using a patcher to get mojave or catalina on it
At least apple isn't serving me ads in my os like windows. EVEN if you do pay for it. If windows services didnt feel clunky maybe i would be inclined to use them over 3rd party. I just feel like windows is screaming to use my data.
Smartest thing Apple could do right now is open source their OS or at least make the licensing free
i think it's faster and easier to use "Set as Wallpaper" thing instead of selecting wallpaper in settings
I switched to linux, now I'm free.
btw I use Arch
@@eness379 what a great os it is.... still need windows... good luck with adobe suite and games with arch haha (and no i wont use gimp or the likes, relearning another poweruser tool... NO.. +the advanced freatures of the adobe products.... well they ARE better and dealbreakers if u use em
@@arencorparencorp2189 i do not use these tools anyway i just surf internet and send memes
@@eness379 Exactly. That's why linux is better for an average user. Same as Windows for things like that. But, I guess Arch isn't really a general user distro because it's install is so complicated haha.
@@arencorparencorp2189 Adobe isn't the world you know? You can even run Adobe under Linux, if you must, games are becoming less and less of a problem every day.
Thanks so much for this! It will be installed as soon as my new SSD arrives.
Ads in the Start Menu? Guess that's another benefit of using Classic/Open Shell rather than the default Start Menu.
*@vacant2012*
Suggested apps > disable
No need to install extra bloat.
Live Tiles rock.
Calling them "ads" is a bit of a stretch. pre-installed initial "suggestions" is probably a better description. they are icons on the start menu to download a few common programs and games from the windows store that are a couple clicks to remove at worst and they never show up again. There is an option turned on by default for suggested apps but thats again only a couple of clicks to disable.
*@vacant2012*
Also you can use the start menu without tiles, so what's the point.
@@SYS_Alberto yeah, the first thing I did was unpin that stuff and resized the start window to its classic size.
The money Microsoft gets from Bing may be a result of me spamming searches for Rewards points...
FarmYard Gaming Reward Points
@@ADeeSHUPA Yep.
turn off internet or start searching how to disable their ads
@@maxgame231 Um, I don't have problems with Bing or Edge. Come to think of it, only MSN has Microsoft ads. What do you mean?

So in other words, Microsoft copied the WinRAR business model.
Except winrar probably doesn't mine as much data.
And WinRAR doesn’t offer any subscription / eco system services to make money off

Not quite copied... Microsoft is simply doing it smarter.

you forgot to mention with the free os upgrades, they remove features and compatibility hoping you rebuy newer versions of office (older versions of outlook no longer function) and upgrade from home to pro (to use folder sharing). they dont seem to understand that settings can be modified in the os to fix the networking and there are free alternatives like Libreoffice, thunderbird etc.. to stop re-buying MS applications.
I haven't used microsoft office in 10 years, I mostly use libre office, but I would like to add the Google office to your list which I believe is currently steam-rolling Microsoft office
