  • I decided to take the Coiltek 14x9 coil out on the farm field. I also wanted to test out how it runs with a single frequency. Some surprising deep items surfaced like a piece of Native American Furtrade silver and old copper coins!
    Thank you so much for watching!

    I just got the14x9 for my nox800. In the first 10 minutes, I pulled out a mercury dime about 12 inches deep from an old park that’s 3 blocks from my house. I’ve hammered that park with the stock coil and the coiltek 10x5 and was convinced that my park was cleaned out. Now I feel like I’m getting a fresh start on a new park. The reviews on this coiltek 14x9 say that it doesn’t go any deeper than the stock 11 inch. I beg to differ. I’ve also dug up a few wheats that were in the 8” to 12” range. It’s a heavy coil for sure. Turn your recovery speed down and swing a little slower and you will be good to go.

      Thank you, I love the 14x9, if I anchor my elbow close to my side I can swing a good 4-6 hours with this big coil. I love having these coils to shake it up a site a little ☺️ I reduce my recovery as I exit high contaminated areas. This field used to have a tavern in corner. It’s impossible to run a low recovery in this extreme trash, it gives partial signals. I run a faster recovery in the corner and reduce as the number of targets space out a little. I like using my recovery between 3 to 7 depending on trash. What I like about the 14x9 it has great separation and can handle trashier areas then the 15. I also noticed how sensitive and sharp this coil is.. absolutely love it ☺️

    I took this coil to the beach and dug a heap of coins about a foot deep in wet sand that I never heard with the stock coil.A lot more stable than the stock coil,too.Found a tiny piece of silver something (I have no idea what it is) loud and clear at 7 or so inches.Heavy coil,and it pays to pinpoint from 3 or 4 different directions before you dig.Had to go home after 3 hrs cause I was buggered from digging such deep holes!(only 2 pieces of iron,tho,both ring shaped). Would highly recommend for the beach,but it is tiring to swing.Great depth,great discrimination (I knew what coin I was digging before I dug it),but a lot of effort to swing.(Some targets I had to give up on because they were just too deep to get to)

    • @RelicDirtyhands
      @RelicDirtyhands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I absolutely love their coils, definitely deep and sensitive! I noticed if I keep my shoulder down and elbow tucked in more I can swing much longer. I’ve been thinking about getting a pro swing harness. This way I can keep going until my legs can’t go anymore lol. The EQ and Coiltek are a great match ☺️

    Great outing guys and very cool old tavern site! Those were some well used coppers, for sure! The way coins were carried around in pockets back in the day with all the moving and jostling around, they got worn down quickly! Add to that the coin shortages and having to be in circulation for 50yrs or more! Nice trade silver score! Amazing coil for the itty bitties! Have done a bit of detecting in 4khz but I usually use it to check signals that sound good but turn up nails. I dig a lot fewer nails now! Very cool amber marble find! Definitely not common! Cool copper ring! Wonder if it could be from tavern era, lost in a fight? ATB and happy hunting!

      Oh I am having fun cross referencing signals in single frequencies.. it brings the equinox to a hole new level! I keep saying I have to go out with a bunch of items, different conductors, sizes and see how everything reacts! Dan Blankenship also left a really interesting comment and observations on single frequencies checks.. how fun lol.. It just seriously keeps on getting better ha ha!

    • @kepvalley
      @kepvalley 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, what he mentioned has been my experience with it as well! I find the sweet spot is from about 28-33. Bottle caps are almost always 35 and good sounding nail falsing in multi will iron grunt like crazy. Get a couple of square nails close to each other and you’ll swear you have silver sometimes!

  • @39satcom

    Just an observation from a noob here... when I do the noise cancelation I keep the coil; raised off the ground a few inches, parallel to the ground (as I would be using it), and pointed in the general direction of travel I intend to search. This way, I am cancelling out possible interference in the detector's orientation, as I use it. I use to raise my NOX800 as you did at 1:52 because it feels natural; however, I switched to a cancel-as-used method. Please let me know what you think of that.
    GREAT channel BTW. You have information and common-sense techniques I have not seen in other channels.

    • @RelicDirtyhands
      @RelicDirtyhands  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I confirmed with Minelab that noise canceling towards the interference is ideal. If there’s power lines I lift and aim towards it. If there is underground wires I keep my coil parallel to the ground. So far In my experience it works best. With the Minelab Vanquish you no longer have to lift your coil which is awesome.

    The maximum sensitivity I can set without chatter is 20 with the 14x9, tried multiple farms now in different locations, is it the same for everyone?

    • @RelicDirtyhands
      @RelicDirtyhands  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the location I’ve had to run it between 18-23. Maybe others will chine in on this comment ☺️. I know one location where all coils struggled with EMI and even a sensitivity down to 12 was chatty, but the small 10x5 was amazing. I finally started to find stuff.

    Is this coil heavier then the stock coil ?

  • @marcgendron6745
    @marcgendron6745 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice hunt guy's 👍👍 really want the 14 ×9 , how bad is it to swing ? I hear they weighted the coil down for water hunting , any truth to that ?.

    • @RelicDirtyhands
      @RelicDirtyhands  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is weighted but if you use a good swing technique, keeping your elbows in its a game changer. I’m swinging it like I used to swing my heavier machines.. first time out I realized how many bad habits I picked up by swinging this lightweight lol.. I can swing all day with it now. Yes it’s heavier than the stock coil but if you adjust the length of your shaft and swinging technique it’s no longer a heavy coil lol..
