When I was in school and my husband was working 55+hrs a week, we would come home to a destroyed house sometimes she would potty too (I was home to let her out, feed her, give her water...) when I was home I didn't have much time to play with her either, I'd talk to her and throw the ball for a few min but other than that not much challenging her mind. ya know the phrase "my dog ate my homework"? yeah, that wasn't a lie. I came home one day to my $150 shoes torn to shreds... that was the last straw so to speak (she's family, we would never ever give up on her) so I did some research. I saw something about boxers need their mind challenged, more research. agility, competitive obedience, nosework... and a whole slew of other dog sports. We picked nosework. Awesome! 1 day a week, NO more destructive behavior- even the rest of the week. Saturdays (class day) are awesome, she's soooo tired after class so she sleeps or is lazy most of the day. Long story short: enroll them in a mind challenging activity, you won't regret it.

That is so cute! My dog is the same. I can fill buckets of warm water outside and wash her in the yard as its a hot country (she's a Cattle X Boxer). She runs about but gets slightly further away when the buckets nearly all filled. Then when I am done... she's gone... lol. I have to find her. The dog I had before, a gorgeous Rotti x Lab mix did exactly the same thing. Then when I find her I go through the coaxing process of getting her next to the buckets. Once the water and soap process starts though... she's fine and enjoys it. ^j^
