I once had a tiny abandoned kitten under my deck that I couldn’t get to come out, it just meowed meowed but was too scared to come out. My dog was standing at my door to come out and go potty so I thought I would just come back later and try and get the kitty to come out BUT as soon as my big dog came out, the kitten came right out and ran right to my dog and claimed it as it’s mommy and I all the sudden had a new cat

It is the best. I had a lovely, but big German Shepherd as a child. He just melted when we brought home my first tiny kitty. From then on, my cat ruled the house. My dog hated other dogs, but would let my cat do anything he wanted to him including stealing his food and bed😂😂😂 My cat grew up to believe he was a dog too, and that our dog was his sibling. They were inseparable and both fiercely protective of me. My siblings and mom couldn’t even raise their voice at me before both of them came rushing over to protect me. When my dog died at 12, my cat was devastated even though he went on to live almost a decade longer. However, I never got another pet while my cat lived, because he was fiercely attached to me and I knew it would upset him too much. I will remember them both until the last day until my final breath.
My pupper was a German shepherd and my cat was a street tabby rescue, they were peas in a pod and loved each other to the very end
Cats and dogs are often seen as rivals, but when friendships blossom between them, the result is beautiful.

We had a stray cat that we took in and we also had a dog. The cat took to the dog immediately but the dog only really tolerated the cat.
The cat would howl at the front door if he wasn't taken out for a walk with the dog. They would go out for a walk in the morning and evening. The cat would follow and would hide and jump out to get the dog to chase, which she did
There's either fighting, romance, weirding out or just plain confusion with this lot lol

I introduced my cat Monty to my neighbors’ geriatric(but puppy at heart) labradoodle and my cat and him became best buddies, learning to play gently and they would give each other kisses. We miss that puppy.. When I take my cat out he will run up to people walking their dog and give dogs kisses.. he loves people too, and kittens… other adult cats though.. well lets just say he needs work..

You are like me, you like to see the improvement of not only our species, but all living things. I was just talking to a friend about what I started out with the misery of the world, only to realize we truly are improving as a species. Just think, just 200 years ago, it was perfectly acceptable to force two animals to fight to the death for sport. 2000 years ago, in Rome it was sport to allow gladiators to fight to the death.
We are improving as a species and as we improve, are also improving all other species. Although we will never see it, in time, we will move as living things to perfection in morality and goodness. You can clearly see the progression. Just 200 years ago, slavery was morally acceptable, could you IMAGINE accepting that today? Every generation we get better and more moral.
75 years ago, WWII was allowable. There will be no WWIII. People talk about it, but we will never allow it. Today, in stupid wars, less people than every die in war than they ever have.
Just imagine, in my own lifetime it was perfectly acceptable to get a child a bunny or duckling for an Easter present, a LIVING THING, just to abandon it later. Could you IMAGINE doing this today? I'm amazed to see morality improve by leaps and bounds within my lifetime.

When I was a kid I had a big ‘ol New Zealand Giant rabbit named Snowball. My Mom’s cat Maggie, a seasoned mouser who has been an indoor/outdoor cat for the first several years of her life was absolutely terrified of Snowball. Snowball was huge-She weighed about 25 pounds & was about three times Maggie’s size. We didn’t let her out around the house as much as we could have (and should have-This was back in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s when most people didn’t realize how social rabbits were) but when we did Maggie would just run & hide.
