- Anthrax is one of the most terrifying words many American's can even think of. Today we're going to tell you exactly what anthrax does to your body.
Brainiac for more great videos! ► bit.ly/Subscrib... ◄
Back in the early 2000’s, what scared Americans more than any supernatural or world ending scenario was… an envelope?
You heard that right Brainiacs, but more specifically, it wasn’t the envelope itself that scared people, but rather the fear of what could be inside. Today, we take a look back on our nation's history to talk about the infamous Anthrax attacks in 2001, to hopefully shed some light on exactly what anthrax is, how it affects the body, and what you can do if you become infected.
You should have so many more likes views and subs! How haven’t you!?
Great channel, keep up the good work!
Thank you!!
TH-camrs like this must have a rival...
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!😁
For some reason I always thought anthrax was a chemical agent or something along those lines. Crazy. Knowledge is power!
Same lol. And I thought I was pretty good at science knowledge lol
Likewise
Of course you forgot to mention that the mortality rate of inhaling anthrax is very high compared to ingestion - the very reason why five people died with the terrorist attack. Clearly, if it was just as simple as going to the doctor those people would have lived. Calming people with knowledge only works if you actually do enough research to know what you are talking about. You basically just told your entire audience to not fear something that, under the right conditions, is incredibly deadly.
Fantastic video. Keep it up! The narration is top notch. I’m sending this to my social studies teacher friends.
wow, thank you so much for watching ;)
@@BrainiacsYour famous
Interesting as always. Keep it up you got a lot of appreciating people!
The 2001 Anthrax was traced back to it's origin, a bioweapons lab in Virginia. The Anthrax letters were used to make certain news/media reporters and politicians to fall in line, and not go against the war in Iraq.
What are you on?
No one knows who the perpetrator was, but it was most likely bioweapon expert Bruce Edwards Ivins, who had worked with the US army in Maryland. As investigations against Ivins increased, he committed suicide. His motive may have been that the fear generated by the attack would increase interest and funding into the anthrax vaccine program, which Ivin had spent 20 years working on.
Am I the only one who automatically thinks of the band instead of the bacteria whenever they hear Anthrax?
Probably
There's a bacteria?
other way around, anthrax who!?lmao
That is how I found this video
Yea
Awesome vid! I’m digging the narrator!
Thanks for educating us! 😀
Awesome content, keep going!!
Thank you!!
Thank u. I gave my family and friends this, and there was happy
it's a madhouse
Oh, am I insane?!!!!
Thank you for the video! Very informative.
Very informative, just to ease my mind. Little more I have a question. I have severe anxiety and I thought I was exposed at work 5 days ago. Yesterday I had enough and went to the hospital and got blood drawn and a extra. Would this disease appear before symptoms in those tests because obviously I don’t have any symptoms right now
You’re fine seek therapy
Anthrax is invisible to the naked eye, it has to be mixed with other powders in order to be handled.
I guarantee you probably touched some saw dust or some white/grey colored shavings
Anthrax is not a disease, it's a ROCK N ROLL BAND!
Me personally i love anthrax, great band
love your videos ❤️ will you do any Halloween themed videos 🎃🦇❤️
Thank you!! You'll have to wait and see ;)
Truth is, once symptoms begin. It's too late. So no you cannot go to any doctor because you'll most likely be told it's too late to treat you
There’s always a itsy bitsy tiny chance
@@PrussiaCountryballsVery little chance. It also leaves permanent damage.
@@pbonney yea but just because it’s a tiny chance doesn’t mean it’s impossible, though it is improbable
@@PrussiaCountryballs Anthrax is similar to rabies in that most people die when full symptoms commence. That’s why it makes such a good bioweapon. I believe the Chinese have ICBM’s that deliver the stuff. It ties up resources so that you are forced to distribute antibiotics to everyone.
Now if only I can find some
I hate bacteria, i just got a freaking abscess infection and its already painful, cant imagine anyone who got this kind of disease.
A year a go there was an anthrax attack in Houston TX.
am I the only one to talk about the disappearing teddy bear at the end lol
Would be best if your videos have english subtitile
anthrax is a really underrated snack its mid tbh

So it's not the powder itself, its the bacteria thats laced with the powder. The more u know.
So, why 5 people die?
Good
Are you sure that it’s not contagious? It was contagious in the Middle Ages and was a factor during the bubonic plague, it was spread by body fluids and skin on skin contact.
Anthrax is not contagious in the same way a cold is, if someone with anthrax coughs on you, you won't get anthrax. Anthrax evolved to infect animals in the wild, the spores are released into the soil through decomposition of an old host to eventually reinfect a new host, and while today this may seem inefficient for humans, during the middle ages there were bodies everywhere. Anthrax is also not spread through skin to skin contact, however, if you have spores on your skin or clothes, in rare cases you can infect someone else the same way that humans get anthrax from working in close proximity to livestock. In the middle ages, this could have been a concern, but if someone is in the hospital for anthrax, they have probably already been cleaned, and are probably in hospital clothes. I have no idea where you are getting the bodily fluid thing from honestly, because anthrax isn't even sexually transmitted, and the black marks it causes are necrotic lesions as opposed to pustules. This video is very good for a quick PSA type thing, but not for in depth scientific stuff on anthrax, I'd recommend the CDC history of anthrax, "Death in a Small Package" by Susan D. Jones, "The Anthrax Attacks" on Netflix, or the anthrax episode of This Podcast Will Kill You.
@@andylionfish thank you so much for the information it’s very helpful and Absolutely fascinating! ^^
@@tenshishimura You’re welcome! I’m glad I could clear this up for you, and that you found it fascinating! Anthrax is an incredible bacteria.
I had a strange mail it was a mask in a small package we didn't know what it was but thankfully it didn't have any of that because if it did we me and my love would both be dead in 3 days
I always thought anthrax was a poisonike cyanide lol
It kinda is, imagine it like a natural version of some lab made poison.
