Sure, MMCs must be welcomed and encouraged to bring talents but is Singapore really certain they are bringing talents that are really unique and value-add to its highly educated and enterprising locals? People are understandably concerned and upset why foreigners with no particularly outstanding skills or experience, are here to compete (often unfairly due to inherent tribal tendencies in the hiring process) for the very jobs that the MMCs were supposed to create for the locals, especially mid to senior levels ones. Often times, those have no connections to either Singapore or even the Asian markets or even the MNCs themselves.
I'm proud of Singapore as politicians do not use religion for their own advantage. People can live in peace and harmony. When everyone is united the country can move forward. PM Lee, may Singapore continue to be blessed 🙏
This is the most humble but aspiring speech I have ever listened to. Mr Lee is being very pragmatic and realistic in the current trend of the things that are revolving in this dangerous but opportunistic world.
I currently live in New Zealand and headline inflation for YoY March 2023 came in at 6.7%, with food inflation at 13.7%. In comparison, SG's headline inflation for the same period was 5.5%, including food inflation at 7.7%.
