    My husband, an engineer, had a heart attack 2 years ago. He was 60 years old and apparently in excellent shape-nonsmoker, slim, etc. He got a stent and the cardiologist put him on a statin. I became aware of diet and life style when i was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years. I begged my husband to reject the statins and drastically change his eating. He refused. I was reading and watching videos every day and finally came across Ivor Cummings. I sent it to my husband. Cummings was the first person my husband actually listened to. He radically changed his eating, started exercising and quit the statin (his cardiologist was horrified). Ivor Cummings is fantastic. Thanks for bringing him on your show.

    keto has made me healthy. I no longer have issues with ulcerative coilitis and have no need of medication, my blood sugar is stable, and ive lost 42 lbs all while not starving.

    Another fantastic interview. It makes me angry that our current healthcare system is so ignorant and negligent! So many people are sick and dying and a lot of them don’t have to if the right information is given. I had gestational diabetes and they were pushing me to eat more whole grains because my baby and I need them apparently. My blood sugars were through the roof. They kept trying to give me more and more insulin and I said no I’m not doing it your way anymore it’s not working. I went down to basically a keto diet without knowing it and my sugars were completely normal and my baby was born big and healthy.

    Hi Dr Berg, I am a huge fan of Ivor - I live in the Uk - your coming together has created one of the best interviews I have seen on the subject of insulin resistance and resulting chronic disease. There was a palpable excitement about your conversation and well deserved, if I may say so. Ivor tends to the complicated scientific, balanced by your ability to simplify for your parochial audience - perfect. As a cynical Brit, I have been a little sceptical of your own commercial motive - but, I'm converted! Thank you. Paul from England

    I’m type 2 diabetic for almost two rears. Did my research ( including writings and videos from these two Gentlemen) And went on a low carb/ Keto/ Mediterranean way of eating/ lifestyle. Went from 12.4 to 5.6 a1c and from 241 lbs to 185 lbs. I’m 62 and have not felt better in 40 years. All aches and pains/ inflammation, high cholesterol/ high blood pressure are at normal levels. For anyone reading this I’ll say one thing. If you feel unwell with inflammation and aches and pains, cholesterol, blood pressure and high blood sugars I can promise you this.You don’t know how bad you have felt until you feel well. It’s life changing and eye opening. Do yourself the ultimate favor and research this topic!

    happy to have found dr. berg, loved this interview, learned more than i knew! our country (usa) is not into curing people, though. there is more money for big pharma, medical insurances, and some health care services in keeping people sick and having to buy more and more meds. add to this the fact that most families are not cooking at home but eating out or buying processed prepackaged foods and i'm not surprised people are unhealthy. hopefully, more and more people will start paying attention to what they're eating... and from where the food is coming. thanks for sharing this.. packed full of good information!

    This realization was huge for me. Knowing that if I mix bad fats with carbs and sugar vs good fats and low carbs and no sugar, produces an entirely different result in the body.

  • @peterfaber9316
    @peterfaber9316 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    What's interesting is that before the low fat high carb era (which started in the 60's), people died of infections, viruses, diseases and old age. So basically,... from things that your body got from outside.
    Now, people die from internal failures.
    Life expectancy is expected to start dropping in the not so distant future. Which, interestingly, is exactly 1 lifetime after the low fat high carb era began.
    Something to think about.

    Great interview. You are both awesome and I love all your work and spreading the word on HFLC diets and the real cause of CV disease, etc. Being an MD it just boggles my mind that nearly all doctors are totally unaware of hyperinsulinemia and its detrimental effects. They all drank the very spiked Kool-Aid and listen to big pharma as dogma. I just ordered the book and cannot wait to read it.

    How can we pose the question to the medical establishment in such a way to open their minds in the face of catastrophic failure of public health after years of Heart and Diabetes Assoc guidelines. What are the statistics on the amount of deaths from these related diseases over the years because of the arrogant refusal to look at opposing research. They should be held responsible for gross mismanagement of public health; failure to put lives before profits and plain incompetence. Also how many Doctors and researchers careers have been ruined because of the powerful have suppressed the truth!

    I’m absolutely convinced that the greatest problem with modern human health is the western diet of high sugar and seed oils. When I eat a moderate amount of red meat with plenty of vegetables I feel really great, but when I eat processed food, grains, crisps, bread, etc any of that crap I feel absolutely terrible.. it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the connection

    Scary....really what is the answer? You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink it. There is so much resistance to the science. Well count me as one.....that believes in the science of low carb.....may one day we will reach the majority.

    Animal based unprocessed food and leafy greens, basically, and important note: lard and butter for cooking. We need to rethink how we grow livestock clearly, because people are finding out the truth. I am pretty sure that at least 2/3 of population has a form of diabetes. We evolved as hunters gatherers.
